About SRMJEEE

SRMJEEE is not one paper. Under that name SRM Institute of Science and Technology runs a B.Tech test and a separate M.Tech test, each with its own form, its own dates and its own question paper. In 2026 both ran in three phases and both were sat at home on a desktop or laptop rather than at a centre, with each test's own rank then deciding campus and programme at counselling.

SRMJEEE, the SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination, is conducted by SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) for admission to its B.Tech and M.Tech programmes, according to the SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page. The SRMIST Admissions India engineering page splits the name in two: B.Tech admission runs through SRMJEEE (UG) and M.Tech admission through SRMJEEE (PG). The same page shows what the test does not cover at SRMIST, since B.Arch admission uses NATA and B.Des and M.Arch seats are filled on qualifying-examination marks.

The UG application also covers integrated M.Tech programmes, which the SRMJEEE 2026 B.Tech application portal lists under the heading for B.Tech/M.Tech (Integrated). For 2026 that portal and the SRMJEEE (PG) 2026 M.Tech application portal each set out three phases in Remote Proctored Online Mode, and the SRMJEEE 2026 FAQs required a separate application for each phase and said counselling would be held separately for each.

Important dates

For SRMJEEE (UG) 2026, SRMIST issued one important-dates sheet per phase, and each sheet carries its own application deadline, slot-booking window, mock examination and main examination days.

The forenoon session was set for 10.00 am to 12.30 pm and the afternoon session for 02.00 pm to 04.30 pm, the times as printed in both the SRMJEEE (UG) 2026 Phase I important dates and the SRMJEEE (UG) 2026 Phase II important dates. Phase III is the exception: its sheet lists only an afternoon session on 4 July and only a forenoon session on 5 July, although the SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page says two slots are available per day.

SRMJEEE (PG) 2026 was scheduled on single dates instead of windows: 14 March, 16 May and 15 July 2026, with application deadlines of 9 March, 11 May and 10 July 2026, as the SRMJEEE (PG) 2026 FAQs state. The SRMJEEE (PG) 2026 M.Tech application portal carries the same dates and marks them tentative.

By 15 September 2026 every window in these UG and PG schedules had passed. The final step of the last UG phase, Phase III programme allocation and full-fee payment, was set for 14 to 20 July 2026 in the SRMJEEE UG Phase III E-Counselling 2026 schedule, and SRMIST's B.Tech and M.Tech (Integrated) enrollment and inauguration dates 2026-2027 then set physical enrollment for 1 to 7 August and the commencement of classes for 17 August 2026. On 15 September 2026 the SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page still carried the 2026 phase table and named no 2027 dates.

Who can apply

Eligibility criteria

The SRMIST Admissions India engineering page sets these B.Tech qualifying routes and conditions for the 2026-2027 intake:

• Class 12 (10+2): passed or appearing in the current year with a minimum 60% aggregate across three subjects, Physics and Mathematics compulsory plus one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices, Engineering Graphics or Botany and Zoology, from any board in India, CBSE, ISCE, IB or NIOS.
• Biotechnology, Genetic Engineering and Biomedical Engineering B.Tech: a minimum 60% aggregate in PCM, PMB or PCB, with Botany or Zoology also accepted on the Biology side; a student admitted without Mathematics at 10+2 must take an additional 4-credit Mathematics course in the first year.
• GCE A-level: Physics and Mathematics compulsory, along with one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Informatics Practices or Engineering Graphics as major subjects, at an international school within India.
• International Baccalaureate: the IB diploma or IB certificate, with two subjects at Higher Level and one at Standard Level, Mathematics at Higher Level for all B.Tech programmes and Biology at Higher Level for the biotechnology and biomedical programmes.
• NIOS: a student who completed 10+2 through NIOS must have completed Class 10 through regular schooling, or the other way round.
• No Chemistry at 10+2: a bridge course in Chemistry in the first year.

The SRMIST Admissions India engineering page also restricts these B.Tech routes to resident Indians, sends NRI, PIO and OCI candidates to the international application, and sets a minimum age of 16 years and 6 months on 31 July of the year of the Class 12 board examination. The SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page adds a maximum 3-year gap after Class 12, and tells an Indian citizen who studied abroad to select "Indian" as nationality. For SRM University Delhi-NCR, Sonepat and SRM University AP, the engineering page points to those universities' own eligibility pages instead, and they can differ: the SRM University AP B.Tech eligibility page also asks for a 60% aggregate in Class 10.

For SRMJEEE (PG), the SRMIST Admissions India engineering page lists eligibility programme by programme, typically a B.E. or B.Tech in named disciplines and for some programmes an MCA or a relevant M.Sc, each with a minimum 50% aggregate.

Step by step

Application process and fee

The SRMJEEE (UG) 2026 form was filled online at the application portal: register, verify the email address, complete the form, upload a photograph and signature in JPEG format, select the exam phase and pay the Rs 1,400 application fee, as the SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page describes. Each phase needed its own application, and sitting every phase was not required. Payment was by debit card, credit card, UPI or net banking, the fee was non-refundable, a payment still showing as pending was to be given 24 hours, and errors in a submitted form went to the Form Correction category on the portal.

On the SRMJEEE 2026 B.Tech application portal the Rs 1,400 fee is charged for each phase, the email address given at registration cannot be changed for any reason and carries every admission message until enrolment, and the candidate is told to keep the Class 10 mark statement at hand for its registration number. The campus and course preference collected on the form is for statistics only; the real choice of campus and programme is made at counselling.

SRMJEEE (PG) 2026 ran on the same arrangement, with an application cost of Rs 1,400 for each phase, a separate application per phase and a non-refundable fee, according to the SRMJEEE (PG) 2026 FAQs.

Before the exam

Admit card and exam day

For SRMJEEE (UG) 2026 a hall ticket existed only after a slot was booked. On the SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page, slots are taken first come, first served from the admission portal, cannot be changed once confirmed, and unlock the admit card for download straight away with the application number and date of birth. The card shows the candidate's name, photograph, application number, roll number, exam date and time slot, and subject combination, and a valid photo ID such as Aadhaar, PAN, passport, driving licence or school ID is required on exam day.

In two of the three UG phases, slot booking opened earlier than the SRMJEEE page suggests. That page gives tentatively two to three days before the exam dates in its key points and 2 days before the exam start date in its slot-booking section, but booking opened on 18 April for a Phase I main examination starting 24 April, per the SRMJEEE (UG) 2026 Phase I important dates, and on 6 June for a Phase II start of 10 June, per the SRMJEEE (UG) 2026 Phase II important dates. Only Phase III, booked from 2 July for a 4 July examination in the SRMJEEE (UG) 2026 Phase III important dates, matched the 2-day figure.

The 2026 exam needed a desktop or laptop with a webcam and microphone, and it could not be taken on a mobile phone. The SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page lists an Intel i3 (4th Gen) or equivalent processor, 4 GB of RAM, 2 GB of free disk space, Chrome or Firefox, a 2 Mbps connection and headphones, and asks candidates to remove any screen-sharing software. For the operating system its list names both Windows 8 or above and Windows 10 and above, while SRMIST's SRMJEEE online exam client page labels its Windows download for Windows 8 and above and advises against using a company or organisation-owned laptop. The SRMJEEE 2026 FAQs say the test is AI-monitored with proctors and super proctors present, and that system and internet-speed instructions are emailed and posted about one week before the exam.

A mock test came before each main exam, and the SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page says it is meant to familiarise candidates with the online interface and the remote-proctored setting.

Structure

Exam pattern

The two SRMJEEE papers differ in length and level, and the table sets them side by side for 2026.

The UG paper's 40-question block is Mathematics or Biology: the SRMJEEE 2026 syllabus prints Mathematics as Part 3 and Biology as Part 4, with 40 questions each. In the PG paper, ten questions come from Mathematics for every M.Tech programme except Biotechnology and Food Processing, per the SRMJEEE (PG) 2026 exam pattern.

What to study

Syllabus

The UG syllabus is a unit list in five parts. In the SRMJEEE 2026 syllabus, Physics runs from Units and Measurement through Nuclear Physics to Electronic Devices, Chemistry from Solutions to Biomolecules, Mathematics from Sets, Relations and Functions to Trigonometry, and Biology from Diversity of Living World to Ecology and Environment.

Part 5, English and Aptitude, appears in that PDF as a heading with no topics beneath it. The topics are on the SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page instead: comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, logical reasoning, numerical ability and data interpretation. That page also marks what SRMIST calls high-weightage areas, among them Electricity and Magnetism, electrochemistry and kinetics, coordination chemistry, calculus, vectors and probability.

The SRMJEEE (PG) syllabus is organised by entrance examination code. The SRMJEEE (PG) syllabus lists Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Communication, Instrumentation, Computer Science, Chemical, Biotechnology, Biomedical, Food Processing and Materials Science, and every code except Biotechnology and Food Processing opens with a Mathematics section, the same two exceptions the PG pattern sheet makes.

How to prepare

Preparation and books

SRMIST publishes its own preparation note on the SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page, which says NCERT Class 11 and 12 textbooks cover 60% to 70% of SRMJEEE questions and advises attempting every question because there is no negative marking. The page also lists subject-wise reference books alongside NCERT.

For official practice material, the Syllabus and Examination Pattern section of the SRMIST Admissions India engineering page links an SRMJEEE UG model question paper. The SRMJEEE UG model question paper prints questions and options only, with no answers marked.

Where it is held

Exam centres

None of SRMIST's 2026 SRMJEEE documents, from the phase sheets to the two application portals, names a test centre or an exam city. The SRMJEEE 2026 FAQs and the SRMJEEE (PG) 2026 FAQs give one mode for both tests, Remote Proctored Online Mode, in which the student writes the exam from home, and the SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page tells a candidate without a computer to hire or arrange one.

After the exam

Answer key

In SRMIST's 2026 material an SRMJEEE candidate goes from the exam straight to a rank. The SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page runs its sections from Admit Card to Result to Counselling, and the SRMJEEE 2026 FAQs move from checking the result to counselling without mentioning a key. In Phase I the main examination closed on 29 April, and the next dated step in the SRMJEEE UG Phase I E-Counselling 2026 schedule, which that page links, is the publication of ranks on 5 May.

Scores

Result and scorecard

SRMIST scheduled an SRMJEEE result after each 2026 phase rather than one for the whole cycle. The SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page says candidates log in to the admission portal with the application number and date of birth, and the rank card shows the All India SRMJEEE Rank; SRMIST asks candidates to keep it for counselling, choice filling, document verification, final admission and loan applications.

For 2026, the phase counselling sheets scheduled publication of UG ranks at 3.00 pm on 5 May for Phase I, 5.00 pm on 22 June for Phase II and 3.00 pm on 9 July for Phase III, per the SRMJEEE UG Phase I E-Counselling 2026 schedule, the SRMJEEE UG Phase II E-Counselling 2026 schedule and the SRMJEEE UG Phase III E-Counselling 2026 schedule. For the PG test, the SRMJEEE (PG) 2026 FAQs say candidates see both their individual scores and their rank.

Scores you need

Cutoff

Neither SRMIST's SRMJEEE page nor its 2026 phase counselling schedules list a closing rank for any campus or programme. Seats are allotted on SRMJEEE rank, seat availability and the choices filled, according to the SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page, and the SRMJEEE 2026 B.Tech application portal warns that Phase 3 allotment may change with seat availability across campuses.

One cut-off is described without a number. For two CSE specialisations, Product Engineering with AI and AI and Future Technologies, the SRM University AP B.Tech eligibility page requires an SRMJEEE rank within the cut-off rank for the CSE department, then a written exam and an interview, and it does not state that rank.

Getting a seat

Counselling and seat allotment

SRMJEEE 2026 counselling was online and separate for each phase, with qualified candidates told to expect an email about choice filling. On the SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page, the steps are checking the rank, filling campus and programme choices, receiving an allocation and paying Rs 1,10,000, made up of a Rs 10,000 registration fee and a Rs 1,00,000 counselling fee, before downloading the provisional allotment letter. Missing the payment deadline cancels the allotment automatically, and all fees except the registration fee are refundable under AICTE norms.

The 2026 UG counselling calendar was not the same in every phase: Phase I was scheduled in two rounds with counselling-fee and full-fee deadlines set apart, while Phases II and III paired allocation with full-fee payment in a single window.

Round II of Phase I was open to candidates who had not filled choices in Round I and to those not allotted a seat in it, per the SRMJEEE UG Phase I E-Counselling 2026 schedule.

Two of SRMIST's scholarship categories are awarded on SRMJEEE rank. The SRMIST scholarship categories 2025-26 onwards (amended) award the Founder's Scholarship, 100% of tuition fee and 100% of hostel or transport fee, to SRMJEEE ranks 1 to 100, which the sheet says are spread across all phases, and the SRM Merit Scholarship, 100% of tuition fee for B.Tech only, to ranks 101 to 500 on the same basis. The same sheet lists a JEE Main rank up to 2000 as a Founder's Scholarship route and allows one scholarship category per candidate. The SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page puts it differently, describing fee waivers from 25% to 100% that depend on SRMJEEE rank and the Class 12 percentage.

Where it is accepted

Participating institutes

SRMIST's own documents do not give one consistent list of the institutions that take SRMJEEE. The accepting-colleges section of the SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page names SRMIST Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani and Baburayanpettai (Acharapakkam, Chengalpattu), a Delhi-NCR campus at Modinagar/Ghaziabad, a Sonepat campus in Haryana, Tiruchirappalli, SRM University AP at Amaravati and SRM University Sikkim. The opening paragraph of the same page names only Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, NCR-Ghaziabad, Vadapalani, Amaravati, NCR-Sonepat and Sikkim, leaving out Tiruchirappalli and Baburayanpettai.

Which of those places belong to SRMIST itself is clearer elsewhere on its site. That accepting-colleges list calls the Ghaziabad and Tiruchirappalli campuses "SRM University", yet the Campuses menu on the SRMIST SRMJEEE 2026 page puts Tiruchirappalli and Delhi-NCR beside Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani and Baburayanpettai, and its footer lists SRM University AP, SRM University Haryana and SRM University Sikkim apart, as group institutions. The SRMJEEE 2026 B.Tech application portal draws the same line, naming Ghaziabad and Tiruchirappalli as SRMIST campuses and giving SRM University Delhi-NCR, Sonepat, SRM University Sikkim and SRM University AP their own entries. The portal's Sikkim entry covers B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering and its AI and Machine Learning and AI and Data Science variants.

For SRM University AP, SRMJEEE is one of two ways in. Its SRM University AP B.Tech eligibility page bases admission on SRMJEEE or SRMAPET, and its SRM University AP SRMJEEE 2026 admission page lists the same three 2026 phase windows SRMIST published, although a sentence higher up that page still says there would be 2 different phases.

M.Tech seats filled through SRMJEEE (PG) sit at a different set of places. The SRMJEEE (PG) 2026 M.Tech application portal lists M.Tech programmes at five SRMIST locations (Kattankulathur, Ramapuram, Vadapalani, Tiruchirappalli and the Ghaziabad campus), under a Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Delhi-NCR, Sonepat, and at the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh. It has no Sikkim or Baburayanpettai entry.
