Overview

About COMEDK UGET

COMEDK UGET, the Under Graduate Entrance Test, is a state-level entrance examination for admission to private professional colleges in Karnataka. The Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) runs it under the Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation, as an online computer-based test.

The test is now the route into undergraduate engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) at the consortium's member engineering colleges across Karnataka, all of them unaided private institutions. The consortium's name still carries medicine and dentistry, but MBBS and BDS admissions shifted to the national NEET-UG examination once NEET became compulsory, so UGET now serves engineering admissions. Seats are filled on merit through a single-window online counselling and allotment process.

The paper covers Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, with 60 questions in each subject, 180 multiple-choice questions in all, and no negative marking. English is used only as the medium of the test. To sit for it you need a pass in 10+2 or the second year of PUC with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and a minimum aggregate in those subjects (around 45%, relaxed for Karnataka SC, ST and OBC candidates). It is an undergraduate-level test held once a year.
