Review Policy

Last updated: July 2026 · Reviews are not yet a live feature

Reviews are not yet live

Expertie does not host user reviews today. No reviews are collected, published, or rated on the platform, and college pages do not show star ratings.

This policy sets out how reviews will work when the feature launches, so the standard is public before the first review is ever posted. Until then, nothing on this page is in operation.

Who can write a review

When reviews launch, only students and alumni of a college will be able to review it, and each reviewer will have to confirm that they attended. We plan to confirm attendance in one of two ways:

• A valid college email address (for example, a @iitb.ac.in address) or a student ID, or • A LinkedIn profile that shows you studied at the college

A submission we cannot tie to a real, attending reviewer will not be published. The reviewer's own accountability is part of the standard, not an optional extra.

Moderation process

When reviews launch, every submission will pass through two steps before it appears on the site:

1. Automated screening. A first pass filters for spam, promotional language, competitor mentions, and abusive content. 2. Human review. A moderator checks the review for internal consistency, confirms the reviewer's attendance against the verification on file, and flags any conflict of interest.

A review that clears both steps would be published within a few working days of submission.

What we don't allow

When reviews launch, the following will be rejected or removed:

• Reviews written by current employees, management, or a PR firm of the institution being reviewed • Reviews that mention or promote a competing institution • Reviews that expose personal information about faculty, staff, or other students • Reviews that make false factual claims, such as invented placement or fee figures • Reviews that break our community standards for respectful discourse • Incentivised reviews, meaning reviews written in exchange for payment, gifts, or a discount

An institution will not be able to pay Expertie to remove, suppress, or alter a review. If a college believes a review is factually wrong, it will be able to flag the review for editorial review. We would acknowledge a flag within 48 hours and respond within 15 working days.

Review disputes

When reviews are live, a college that believes a review is false or breaks these rules will be able to raise a formal dispute by writing to reviews@expertie.com with:

• The URL of the review • The specific claim or claims it believes are inaccurate • Supporting evidence, such as an official placement report or an accreditation document

We would acknowledge the dispute within 48 hours and respond within 15 working days. If a review is found to break this policy, we will remove or correct it. We will not remove a review simply because the institution finds it unflattering.

How ratings are calculated

When reviews are live, a college's star rating would be the average of its published reviews. We would not weight the rating by recency unless the college has gone through a confirmed material change, such as a new accreditation or a campus relocation.

Ratings would refresh daily. A college with fewer than five published reviews would show the review count instead of a star rating, so a handful of reviews cannot present itself as a settled score.
