About BITSAT
BITSAT, the Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test, is the entrance examination run by BITS Pilani for admission to its integrated first degree programmes. It is an undergraduate-level test delivered as a computer-based online paper, and its questions draw on the NCERT Class 11 and 12 syllabus.
A BITSAT score is the route into the integrated first degree courses at the three Indian campuses of BITS Pilani: the Pilani campus, the K K Birla Goa campus, and the Hyderabad campus. These include the B.E. engineering streams, B.Pharm. and M.Sc. programmes. Admission is decided on merit from the test score, without a separate management quota.
The paper is organised in four parts: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (or Biology for candidates applying to B.Pharm.), and a combined section on English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning. The questions are objective and multiple-choice, and the test runs for three hours at computer centres. Because it is computer-driven, a candidate sees the score at the end of the session.
