About MAT
MAT, the Management Aptitude Test, is a national management entrance exam. The All India Management Association (AIMA) has administered it since 1988, and it screens graduates for admission to MBA and allied postgraduate management programmes.
The Ministry of Education, Government of India approved MAT as a national-level test in 2003. Over 600 B-schools across India accept a MAT score for entry to MBA and PGDM courses.
MAT runs in two formats, a Paper Based Test (PBT) and a Computer Based Test (CBT). If you take both, you may submit the better of your two scores. AIMA holds the exam four times a year, in February, May, September and December.
Eligibility is open to graduates in any discipline, and final-year students awaiting their results may apply. The paper tests language comprehension, reasoning and critical thinking, quantitative and mathematical skills, data analysis and sufficiency, and awareness of the economic and business environment.
