About SET

The Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is a national, computer-based entrance test for undergraduate admission, conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University), a Pune-based deemed university that has run academic institutions since 1971. SET is the common admission test for Symbiosis's undergraduate programmes in general disciplines. Undergraduate engineering admission runs through a separate paper, the Symbiosis Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (SITEEE).

A qualifying score opens admission to Symbiosis undergraduate institutes across campuses in Pune, Noida, Nagpur, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The programmes span management, media and communication, economics, computer studies, liberal arts, artificial intelligence and culinary management. The score is one input into a wider selection process, which, depending on the programme, can also include a personal interaction, writing ability test, group discussion or studio test.

The test runs in computer-based mode at centres across Indian cities. It is an objective paper covering general English, quantitative aptitude, general awareness, and analytical and logical reasoning. To be eligible you need a pass in Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent (45 per cent for SC and ST candidates); candidates awaiting their Class 12 results may apply provisionally.

Symbiosis holds two test dates within a cycle and considers the higher of a candidate's two scores for admission.
