About CHRIST Entrance Test

The CHRIST Entrance Test is the written stage CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, sets for a named list of its own undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and for 2026 entry it was only the first stage. A candidate who sat the online test then faced a Skill Assessment, a Micro Presentation and a Personal Interview, all in person. CHRIST's older documents call the test CUET, for CHRIST University Entrance Test, so the short name collides with NTA's national CUET. Other CHRIST programmes skip the written test entirely, and its MBA admits on external management-test scores instead.

On the CHRIST Selection Process 2026 page, the written stage is called the Entrance Test (ET), and the university sets a rule for candidates holding several applications: where the tests fall on the same date and time, the candidate writes one test and the score is applied to all relevant programmes. Tests on different dates or times must each be taken separately, and the Skill Assessment, Micro Presentation and Personal Interview must be completed separately for every application, per the same page.

The older name is still on CHRIST's site. Its 2021 schedule table carries the label "CUET (CHRIST University Entrance Test) 2021" on the CHRIST entrance test details page, and the CUET 2022 guidelines and instructions to the students use the same short form. The two 2026 pattern sheets carry Entrance Test Pattern in their headings, yet the undergraduate pattern sheet's download address and its postgraduate twin's still begin with CHRIST-CUET. None of the 2026 campus ET sheets or the 2026 selection-process page asks for an NTA CUET-UG score.

Important dates

For 2026 entry, CHRIST ran the online ET in successive rounds, and it listed the first three as one schedule. The dates below belong to the 2026 admission cycle.

Session IV then split by campus, each with its own closing date, test date and interview date.

The Session V selection process dates sheet set the online ET for 10 June, 2026 at Bangalore Central, Yeshwanthpur and Bannerghatta Road, and for 14 June, 2026 at Delhi NCR and Pune Lavasa, with SA_MP_PI on 12 June and 17 June respectively. The Selection Process 2026 page separately gives 24 July 2026 as the last date to apply for the Pune Lavasa campus.

CHRIST's own admissions FAQ says UG and PG applications (except MBA) "usually open in December for the upcoming academic year", on the CHRIST admission queries page. The 2026 cycle started earlier than that pattern: its Selection Process I form went online on October 30, 2025, per the Important Dates for Selection Process 2026.

No ET date for 2027 entry had appeared by mid-September 2026. The undergraduate and postgraduate page that CHRIST's admissions menu linked at that point was still the Selection Process 2026 page, and the one 2027 schedule the menu linked was the MBA admission 2027 page, for a programme that admits on outside test scores rather than the ET.

Who can apply

Eligibility criteria

CHRIST sets eligibility programme by programme. Its UG application process instructions say every candidate must meet the programme-specific criteria, and an application with no marks cards or unclear scanned copies is rejected and termed Not Eligible.

The bar differs from one ET programme to the next. For instance, the Bangalore Central BCom (Accountancy and Taxation) programme page asks for a pass in Class 12 with a minimum of 70% at the +2 level in the Commerce stream, and lets candidates writing their +2 examinations in March to May apply with Class X and XI marks. The Pune Lavasa BA LLB (Honours) programme page asks for a +2 pass in any stream with a minimum score of 50%, and lets candidates writing the +2 examinations in March to May 2026 apply with Class X and XI marks. Both pages route international curricula through AIU stipulations: an IB applicant needs 3 HL and 3 SL with 24 credits, and a GCE or Edexcel applicant needs a minimum of 3 A levels with a grade not less than C.

Among postgraduate programmes, the Bangalore Central MCA programme page, to take one example, accepts an undergraduate degree with a minimum aggregate of 50% from a university recognised by UGC or AIU. Final-year students sitting their degree examinations in March to June 2026 were also eligible if they held 50% or above in every semester or year so far, and applicants from outside Computer Science must have studied Mathematics, Computer Science or Business Mathematics at the Pre-University or degree level.

The Bangalore Central LLM (Constitutional and Administrative Law) programme page applies the same 50% aggregate rule to an LLB of 3 or 5 years, including final-year LLB students examined in March to June 2026. On the admission queries page, CHRIST tells master's applicants to enter and upload marks for at least four semesters.

Step by step

Application process and fee

Applications go online only, through the university website, and a one-time registration lets a candidate apply for multiple programmes with the same registration ID, per the UG application process instructions. At the form stage an ET applicant picks the date of the online test and the venue for the in-person SA_MP_PI round, and CHRIST entertains no request to change either afterwards. The campus ET sheets, such as the Bangalore Central UG ET selection process sheet, word the same step differently, saying the date and time for the selection process are auto-generated by the system.

The photograph must be 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm, in formal dress against a white background, and not more than 100 kb, according to the UG application process instructions. Payment is by Net Banking, credit card, debit card or UPI, a 9-digit application number is generated once the payment succeeds, and an amount deducted in a failed payment is refunded within 15 business days, per the same instructions.

The application fee "varies depending on the programme applied for and is up to INR 1,800", and it is non-refundable, per the CHRIST admission queries page. The same page requires a separate form and fee for each programme, and a new fee for each session if a candidate who was not selected reapplies.

Once the application number exists, the Selection Process 2026 page rules out any change of campus or programme preference, date or venue.

Before the exam

Admit card and exam day

The ET admit card appears in the applicant's login, and CHRIST's documents state the lead time differently. The Selection Process 2026 page, the admissions FAQ, the campus sheets and the PG pattern sheet say 2 to 3 days before the selection process, while the UG entrance test pattern and guidelines sheet and the Session IV dates page say 1 to 2 days before the scheduled date. The UG pattern sheet also warns that no email or SMS will be sent about ET_SA_MP_PI date and time updates and asks candidates to check their application status, so the portal is the place to watch.

The CHRIST Selection Process 2026 page sends the mock test and actual test links to the registered email ID and also makes them available in the admit card. Its technical list for the ET is a working camera and microphone, power backup and a stable internet link for the length of the test, and the page will not entertain rescheduling requests. For Session I it listed a mock test, labelled a system compatibility check, with a window from 5 December 2025 (10:00 AM IST) to 7 December 2025 (03:00 PM IST).

The 2026 test slots on the Selection Process 2026 page were 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM IST on 7 December 2025, 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM IST on 8 December 2025 (the law programmes' date in the Selection Process I schedule), three shifts starting at 6:30, 7:00 and 7:30 PM IST on 6 April 2026, and 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM IST on 7 May 2026.

The Bangalore Central UG ET selection process sheet advises logging in to the ET link at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time and reporting to the SA_MP_PI venue at least 30 minutes before the time on the admit card. A copy of the admit card, all original mark cards and a valid photo ID must be available for verification at any stage, and failing to produce them marks the application "Not Selected". Impersonation or suspicious behaviour, such as prompting by a third person or accessing notes or gadgets, is treated as malpractice with the same result.

Structure

Exam pattern

The ET runs 90 minutes except where a programme specifies otherwise. Each question carries 1 mark for a right answer and a negative mark of 0.25 for a wrong one, with nothing awarded or deducted for an unattempted question, per the UG entrance test pattern and guidelines sheet.

CHRIST does not set one paper for everyone. The UG pattern sheet divides its 120 marks by programme group:

The PG pattern sheet gives 60 and 90 minutes as its durations, does not repeat the UG marking line, and lists its papers by programme:

The PG sheet also lets psychology applicants sit fewer tests. A candidate who applied for MSc (Clinical Psychology) and for any of MSc (Neuropsychology), MSc (Counselling Psychology), MSc (Psychology HRDM), MSc (Clinical psycho oncology), MSc (Psychology- Health and Wellbeing) or MSc (Educational Psychology) sits only the Clinical Psychology test, and that score is valid for the others. MSc (Neuropsychology) plays the same role for the programmes after it on that list, and the Micro Presentation and Personal Interview are still held separately for each programme. Directly beneath those two rules the same sheet prints, in red, "This entrance test score is not transferable to any other date / programme", and it does not say how that line squares with them.

The stages after the test are defined on the Bangalore Central UG ET selection process sheet. In the Skill Assessment the candidate writes on a given topic on not more than one A4 sheet in not more than 10 minutes, the Micro Presentation asks the candidate to talk for 90 seconds on a topic the panel gives, and the Personal Interview lasts 10 minutes. The 2026 campus sheets name each stage but publish no weightage for any of them.

Two media master's programmes use a marked assessment of their own. The 2026 MAMCS admission process at Bangalore Central scores an objective test out of 50, a short response to a case out of 20, a portfolio out of 20 and a Statement of Purpose out of 10, and only shortlisted applicants go on to the interview. The MA Digital Media with Analytics assessment at Bangalore Yeshwanthpur sets a 50-mark Skill Test (a 30-mark objective test and a 20-mark case response), a 20-mark portfolio, a 10-mark Statement of Purpose and a 20-mark Personal Interview.

Syllabus

The 2026 UG and PG pattern sheets give the ET syllabus as section names with marks, as in the tables above, and no topic list under those names. The MAMCS admission process goes a level deeper for one programme: its objective test covers General Knowledge, Grammar, Basics of Mass Communication and specialisation-based questions in Advertising and Corporate Communications or Multimedia Journalism, per the 2026 MAMCS admission process.

How to prepare

Preparation and books

The one practice step CHRIST names for the 2026 ET is its mock test, and the Selection Process 2026 page heads even that "Mock Test - System Compatibility Check". Neither that page nor the 2026 UG and PG pattern sheets suggest a book or study material. The Yeshwanthpur MA Digital Media with Analytics assessment tells applicants to bring both their portfolio and Statement of Purpose to the interview.

Where it is held

Exam centres

CHRIST's own pages describe where the ET is taken in two different ways. The Bangalore Central UG ET selection process sheet lists the mode as "Entrance Test: ONLINE | SA_MP_PI: VENUE BASED", and the Selection Process 2026 page asks for a camera, microphone, power backup and internet connection for the test. The CHRIST admission queries page instead answers that "All entrance tests are centre-based online tests, which means applicants must attend the designated venue to take the test." Both pages send the candidate to the E-Admit card: the Selection Process 2026 page for the test link, and the FAQ for the venue address and timings.

The in-person round has a published venue list. For Selection Process I and II, the SA, MP and PI venues listed were the Bengaluru Central, Bannerghatta Road, Kengeri and Yeshwanthpur campuses, Delhi NCR, Pune and a set of cities that included Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Kolkata, Lucknow, Patna and Thiruvananthapuram, while the Selection Process III list stopped at the Bengaluru campuses, Delhi NCR and Pune, per the Important Dates for Selection Process 2026. Programmes with an audition held it only at Bangalore Central Campus, and the Selection Process 2026 page adds that certain programmes interview only at a designated campus.

NRI candidates had their own venues: the NRI selection process dates for 2026 placed SA, MP and PI in Bahrain, Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia for NRI Selection Process I and II.

After the exam

Answer key

The most recent disputed-question rule CHRIST put in writing belongs to the 2022 test. Its CUET 2022 guidelines and instructions to the students answered, in a question-and-answer list, "Wrong questions? It will be considered and marks will be provided after review." Neither that promise nor an answer key appears on the Selection Process 2026 page or in the 2026 UG and PG pattern sheets.

Scores

Result and scorecard

The result is a selection decision, published as a final selection list on the application portal on the date fixed for each round, such as 22:00 Hrs on April 18, 2026 for Selection Process II, per the Important Dates for Selection Process 2026. The CHRIST Selection Process 2026 page also states: "Results of the upcoming selections will be published within 48 hours of the completion of the selection process."

A selected candidate receives an E-Offer of admission valid until the date stated in it, and the admission remains provisional and subject to university rules, per the PG admission process page. For the ET itself, CHRIST's 2026 admission-process pages describe no scorecard and no published mark; the only scorecard the PG page asks for is a MAT, CAT or other management-test result from MBA applicants.

Cutoff

Percentages do appear on CHRIST's 2026 programme pages, but as entry minimums: the 70% Commerce-stream figure on the Bangalore Central BCom (Accountancy and Taxation) page sits under Eligibility Criteria. For the test itself, the 2026 selection-process page, the UG and PG campus ET sheets and the two pattern sheets give no qualifying mark, and the campus sheets attach no weightage to the ET, the Skill Assessment, the Micro Presentation or the Personal Interview.

Getting a seat

Counselling and seat allotment

Seats are allocated by CHRIST itself. Its Important Disclaimer on selection status says the allocation of students to campuses and programmes, across the Bangalore campuses, Lavasa (Pune) and Delhi NCR, is determined solely at the discretion of the University Management, and the Admission Committee's decision is final. The admission queries page adds that when a candidate lists the same programme at several campuses, campus allocation is system-generated and the application is not considered for the other preferences.

After results, selected candidates complete the fee payment and admission formalities within 5 working days or as specified in the Offer of Admission Card, per the CHRIST Selection Process 2026 page. Admission is processed in person, and the same page says it cannot be processed without the student and at least one parent present.

Pending documents carry their own 2026 deadlines. The UG admission process page requires the Class 12 Transfer Certificate, and the Migration Certificate from all candidates except Karnataka state board applicants, on or before July 31st or as announced by the office of admissions, while the PG admission process page says the undergraduate Transfer Certificate, and the Migration Certificate from all candidates except those studying in Karnataka, must be submitted by 30 September 2026. The 2026 admission-process pages describe no waiting list.

Where it is accepted

Participating institutes

The UG ET sheets linked from the Selection Process 2026 page run campus by campus. Bangalore Central's takes in its communication and journalism BAs, its BBA and BCom programmes, Bachelor of Hotel Management, the iMBA, BSc (Actuarial Science), BA LLB, BBA LLB, BCA and BScs in data science and economics, per the Bangalore Central UG ET selection process sheet. Bangalore Yeshwanthpur's includes BSc (Clinical Psychology) and BSc (Media with Computer Science), per the Bangalore Yeshwanthpur UG ET selection process sheet, while the Bangalore Bannerghatta Road UG ET selection process sheet includes BA (Liberal Arts) and BA (Political Science), and the Delhi NCR UG ET selection process sheet includes BA LLB and BBA LLB.

At Kengeri the 2026 list is made up of BTech programmes, BBA programmes, BSc (Psychology) and the Indo-German First Year BTech Credit Transfer Program, per the Bangalore Kengeri UG ET selection process sheet, and at Pune Lavasa it includes BA LLB, BBA LLB, BCA and BCom (Financial Analytics), per the Pune Lavasa UG ET selection process sheet.

The same page links postgraduate ET sheets for four campuses. The Bangalore Central PG ET selection process sheet lists its MSc psychology programmes, three LLMs and the MCA, and the Bangalore Yeshwanthpur PG ET selection process sheet lists MSc (Clinical Psychology) and MA (Clinical Psychology). Delhi NCR's covers two LLMs, MSc (Clinical Psychology), MSc (Counselling Psychology) and the MCA, per the Delhi NCR PG ET selection process sheet, and Pune Lavasa's is limited to two LLMs, per the Pune Lavasa PG ET selection process sheet.

Other programmes admit without the ET. Bangalore Central's science BScs, several BA combinations and its music, performing arts and theatre programmes go through SA, MP and PI, with an audition for the arts programmes, per the Bangalore Central UG non-ET programmes sheet. For B Arch, the UG application process instructions ask for a valid NATA score, if available while applying.

The MBA uses outside scores. The MBA 2027 eligibility page accepts MAT, CAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA, GMAT FOCUS and GRE results held in 2026 and 2027, with minimums of 600 for MAT, the 60th percentile for CAT, CMAT, XAT and ATMA, 450 for GMAT and 295 for GRE, and says the actual score has no bearing on selection beyond eligibility. Its Session I form is available online from September 5, 2026, with January 24, 2027 as the last date to apply, per the MBA admission 2027 page.
