Pearl Academy Entrance Exam (General Proficiency Test and Design Aptitude Test)

The Pearl Academy Entrance Exam is the admissions test for Pearl Academy, a private fashion and design institute with campuses in Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Pearl Academy sets and runs the test itself, so admission is directly into the academy's own degree programmes.

The written stage has two parts. The General Proficiency Test (GPT) covers English and verbal ability, logical reasoning, quantitative ability and basic mathematics, and data interpretation. The Design Aptitude Test (DAT) looks at observation, imagination, creativity, and drawing and design ability. Applicants to the design and fashion programmes sit both papers; those applying to the business programmes take the GPT alone. There is no negative marking, and candidates who clear the written stage go on to present a portfolio and attend an interview.

Admission runs at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, feeding Bachelor's degrees such as B.Des and BBA and Master's degrees such as M.Des and MBA across fashion, design, communication and business. You take the written test online, logging in within a set window, and Pearl Academy holds it in several cycles through the year rather than as a single annual sitting.
