About NIFT Entrance Exam (NIFTEE)
The NIFT Entrance Examination (NIFTEE) is the admission test for the National Institute of Fashion Technology. The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducts it on behalf of NIFT, a statutory institute under the Ministry of Textiles that was established in 1986 and has been empowered to award its own degrees since the NIFT Act of 2006.
A single national exam feeds both undergraduate and postgraduate admission. At the undergraduate level it leads to the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) and the Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech); at the postgraduate level, to the Master of Design (M.Des), Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech) and the Master of Fashion Management (MFM). Seats are spread across NIFT's campuses in India.
Selection runs in stages. The first is a written round of two papers: the General Ability Test (GAT), taken on computer, which every candidate sits, and the Creative Ability Test (CAT), a pen-and-paper test of drawing, observation and design thinking that applies to the design programmes such as B.Des and M.Des. The GAT covers quantitative ability, communication ability and English comprehension, analytical ability and reasoning, and general knowledge and current affairs, with added case-study aptitude at the postgraduate level. Shortlisted candidates then move to a second stage: a Situation Test for undergraduate applicants and a Personal Interview for postgraduate applicants.

Eligibility
