About KLEE
The Kerala Law Entrance Examination (KLEE) is the state-level entrance test for admission to law programmes in Kerala. It is conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), an office of the Government of Kerala that runs the state's entrance examinations and centralised allotment for professional courses.
KLEE is the gateway to three streams. The five-year integrated LLB (offered as BA LLB, BCom LLB and BBA LLB) is open to candidates who have cleared the higher secondary stage; the three-year LLB is for candidates who already hold a bachelor's degree; and a separate LLM entrance is for candidates who hold an LLB. Ranks from the test feed a single online allotment process that places candidates in government and self-financing law colleges across the state on the basis of merit and stated preferences.
The paper is objective, with multiple-choice questions, and is administered in a computer-based format. It tests general English, general knowledge and current affairs, quantitative and reasoning ability, and aptitude for legal study at the LLB level, while the LLM entrance covers core law subjects. The examination is held once a year, and the LLB and LLM tests are conducted as separate papers.
