About TS LAWCET
TS LAWCET, the Telangana State Law Common Entrance Test, is the state's entrance exam for law admissions. It now carries the TG LAWCET branding as well. Osmania University, Hyderabad conducts it on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE, now branded TGCHE). You sit it once a year as a computer-based test.
A qualifying score is the route into the law colleges and universities across Telangana that admit through TSCHE counselling. Selection runs on merit in the test, and seats are then allotted through state counselling. LAWCET covers two undergraduate streams: the three-year LLB, open to graduates, and the five-year integrated LLB such as BA LLB, BCom LLB and BBA LLB, open to candidates who have completed 10+2.
The undergraduate paper is objective. It tests general knowledge and mental ability, current affairs, and aptitude for the study of law. The same authority also runs TS PGLCET, the postgraduate test for admission to the two-year LLM, for which you need a completed three-year or five-year LLB. Both tests are confined to Telangana and share the online, single-attempt format.
