About TG EAPCET (formerly TS EAMCET)

Telangana counts TG EAPCET ranks for admission to professional degrees from B.Tech. and B.Pharm to B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture and B.V.Sc. & A.H. For the 2026 cycle, ranks came from normalised test marks with no Intermediate weightage, and 85% of the seats in each course were reserved for local candidates of the O.U. (Osmania University) area, both per the TG EAPCET 2026 Engineering Instruction Booklet. Allotment also runs late for some courses: the TGEAPCET Bi.P.C. 2026 Detailed Notification, dated 8 September 2026, schedules first-phase allotment of pharmacy and allied seats on or before 22 September 2026.

"TS EAMCET is renamed as TG EAPCET from 2024 onwards," the TG EAPCET 2026 About Us page states, and the same page says Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) conducts the 2026 test on behalf of the Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE). It calls the test the prerequisite for professional courses in university and private colleges in Telangana, held once a year.

Two streams sit under the one name. The TG EAPCET 2026 Courses page files B.E./B.Tech., the specialised B.Tech. programmes and MPC pharmacy under Engineering (E), and agriculture, horticulture, forestry, veterinary science, fisheries, nursing and the Bi.P.C. versions of the pharmacy and allied B.Tech. courses under Agriculture and Pharmacy (A&P). A candidate may sit both, and the TG EAPCET 2026 Online Application FAQs say such a candidate receives two different hall ticket numbers.

Intermediate marks do not enter the rank. The Engineering Instruction Booklet says "The TG EAPCET-2026 ranks will be allotted purely based on the performance (normalized marks) in the TG EAPCET-2026 examination." It also separates the exam from admission: the Commissioner of Technical Education, Telangana is appointed Convener for counselling, and "The Convener, TG EAPCET-2026 is not responsible for counselling for admissions."

A state commission has recommended ending the test. The Education Policy for Telangana, Telangana Education Commission recommends "discontinuing EAPCET and using strengthened Intermediate public examination marks as the basis for undergraduate admissions", in a report submitted to the Chief Minister under a covering letter dated January 2026. As published it is a recommendation to the government, and the 2026 exam and counselling documents still rank and admit on EAPCET marks.

Important dates

The 2026 cycle ran from a newspaper notification in February to computer-based tests in the first half of May, with late fees rising in five steps that kept applications open until two days before the first exam session.

The post-exam steps were announced on the TG EAPCET 2026 home page instead: preliminary keys opened for the A&P stream on 11 May 2026 and for the Engineering stream on 12 May 2026, and rank card download was enabled for both streams on 17 May 2026.

Eligibility criteria

Local and Unreserved Seats Under G.O. Ms. No. 15

The Engineering Instruction Booklet lets Indian nationals, Persons of Indian Origin and OCI card holders apply, and requires local or unreserved status under the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order, 1974, read with G.O. Ms. No. 15 of the Higher Education (TE) Department, dated 27 February 2025. The TG EAPCET 2026 Detailed Notification adds a sentence of its own: "Candidates should belong to the state of Telangana." PIO and OCI applicants should note that the TGEAPCET 2026 MPC Web Counselling Notification and the Bi.P.C. one both open their eligibility-for-admission list with "Candidate shall be an Indian National".

The seat split is printed on the last page of the Engineering Instruction Booklet under the heading "Reservation of Seats": "Admission to 85% of the seats shall be reserved in each course in the Educational Institutions in the State for local candidates of OU area", and the remaining 15% are unreserved. The counselling notification repeats that rule and names the certificates a non-local candidate produces to be considered for the unreserved groups.

The 2026 instruction booklets name no Andhra University or Sri Venkateswara University local area; the O.U. area is the only one they mention. For institutional spot admissions, the TGEAPCET 2026 spot admissions guidelines add that a candidate who belongs to another state, studied there completely, and whose parents belong to and live in another state "is not eligible for admission."

Subjects, Marks and Age by Course

For the Engineering stream the booklet sets out these routes.

A diploma holder gets two answers for the first row. The Engineering Instruction Booklet names a final-year Diploma in Pharmacy as the alternative to Intermediate for B.E./B.Tech. and the allied courses, while the Detailed Notification names a final-year Diploma in Engineering at the same point, and neither document reconciles the two.

The A&P stream has more course groups, and every candidate in its first group must take the Biology, Physics and Chemistry paper whatever subjects they studied.

For B.Pharm, the Detailed Notification also accepts a final-year pharmacy diploma from Telangana's technical education board, a route the A&P booklet's B.Pharm clause leaves out.

Veterinary science carries an extra bar. The Detailed Notification, citing the Gazette of India, requires a General category B.V.Sc. & A.H. candidate to have 50% marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology in the qualifying examination, with SC, ST and other notified special categories allowed 10% less. B.Arch is outside the test: the same notification points architecture aspirants to NATA.

Step by step

Application process and fee

The TG EAPCET 2026 application user guide breaks the online form into three steps: pay the registration fee, fill in the online application, and print the filled-in application. Payment went through either a TG Online centre or an online debit card, credit card or net banking transaction.

A late fee changed more than the bill. According to the Detailed Notification, candidates who registered with a late fee of Rs 2,500, Rs 5,000 or Rs 10,000 were allotted a test centre in Test Zone 4.

The Online Application FAQs settle several points that trip up applicants:

• No certificate is uploaded with the form. Candidates whose qualifying examination was conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana in 2026, or who passed after 2019, also skip the photo and signature upload, while CBSE, ICSE and equivalent candidates upload a .jpg photo under 50 KB and a signature under 30 KB.
• Most fields could be edited from 6 to 8 April 2026, but not the stream, the qualifying examination hall ticket number, the candidate's or father's name, the date of birth, the test zone or the category. Those needed a signed request with supporting documents to the Convener or the helpdesk email.
• The registration fee is not refundable, and a fee paid for one stream cannot be transferred to the other.

Before the exam

Admit card and exam day

Hall ticket download opened on 23 April 2026 for A&P and on 27 April 2026 for Engineering, per the TG EAPCET 2026 Examination Schedule. The TG EAPCET 2026 hall ticket page keys the download to the qualifying examination's hall ticket number, not an EAPCET number, together with the registration number and date of birth.

The booklet and the test FAQs each list part of what to carry:

• The Engineering Instruction Booklet asks for the hall ticket, a blue or black ball point pen and a government-issued ID, preferably Aadhaar.
• The TG EAPCET 2026 Computer Based Test FAQs add the printout of the filled-in application with the candidate's photo pasted on it, and a photocopy of the caste certificate for SC and ST candidates who did not give a certificate number in the form.

Two different thumbs get used on the day. The printout goes to the invigilator carrying the candidate's left-hand thumb impression, per the Online Application FAQs, while biometric capture after document checks at the entrance takes a photograph and a right-hand thumb scan, per the Computer Based Test FAQs.

Arrival times differ by document: at least 90 minutes before the test in the Engineering Instruction Booklet, and in the Computer Based Test FAQs entry from two hours before, with advice elsewhere to arrive an hour early. Both bar entry once the test starts, the FAQs even for a candidate late "by a minute".

Structure

Exam pattern

Whichever session a TG EAPCET 2026 candidate sat, the paper ran three hours, with the forenoon session timed 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon and the afternoon one 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The TG EAPCET 2026 Agriculture and Pharmacy Instruction Booklet splits that stream's Biology section into 40 Botany and 40 Zoology questions, alongside 40 in Physics and 40 in Chemistry.

On screen, the paper appears in one of two bilingual pairs, English with Telugu or English with Urdu, which the candidate picks irrespective of the medium of study. The Engineering Instruction Booklet treats the English version as final where a translation is ambiguous, gives every question four responses, and states: "There is no negative mark for incorrect answer."

A score appears before any rank does. At the end of the test, the Engineering Instruction Booklet has the screen display marks worked out against the preliminary key, while the rank is allotted on normalised marks according to the final key, so the hall figure is provisional twice over.

How Normalisation Works

Each session has a different question paper and a candidate may appear in only one session, so the TG EAPCET 2026 Detailed Notification rescales every subject mark with this formula: normalised mark = GASD + (GTA - GASD) / (STA - SASD) x (the candidate's mark in that subject - SASD).

Marks of an easy session "may be reduced marginally" and those of a hard session "may increase marginally", the notification says. For candidates with no qualifying cut-off, a normalised mark below zero is treated as zero, though the negative figure still counts in a tie.

Equal normalised totals are separated subject by subject. The Engineering Instruction Booklet looks first at normalised Mathematics and then normalised Physics before falling back on date of birth in favour of the older candidate; the A&P booklet puts Biology where Mathematics sits.

What to study

Syllabus

The TG EAPCET 2026 Engineering syllabus follows the Board of Intermediate Education, Telangana syllabus in force from 2024-2025 for the first year and 2025-2026 for the second, at 100% of each, applies to earlier Intermediate batches too, and warns that its topics "are not to be regarded as exhaustive."

Its size is uneven by subject: the Engineering syllabus has 6 numbered topic heads in Mathematics, 30 in Physics and 26 in Chemistry. The TG EAPCET 2026 A&P syllabus keeps the same Physics and Chemistry topic heads and replaces Mathematics with 13 Botany heads and 16 Zoology heads.

How to prepare

Preparation and books

The model questions the instruction booklets point to sit at the end of each syllabus PDF, subject by subject, and their formats go beyond one-line recall: the Engineering syllabus includes assertion-and-reason items, list matching, a pair of statements to judge true or false, and a set of results to arrange in ascending order, and the A&P syllabus carries the same styles into Botany and Zoology.

Apart from NCERT, which the A&P syllabus names three times, all in Zoology (earthworm and frog as type studies "strictly adhering to NCERT text book", and "follow NCERT" for health and disease), no textbook appears in the 2026 syllabus documents or Instruction Booklets.

The TG EAPCET 2026 mock test page links mock tests for both streams in English with Telugu and English with Urdu, and the Computer Based Test FAQs say the mock test "is available all the time". The Video Guide for CBT page has a walkthrough in English and in Telugu.

Where it is held

Exam centres

TG EAPCET 2026 centres were grouped into test zones, and the TG EAPCET 2026 Test Zones page divides Hyderabad into four zones so candidates can take the test in a nearby area. Outside Hyderabad the list names Nalgonda, Kodad, Khammam, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Sathupally, Karimnagar, Siddipet, Mahabubnagar, Sangareddy, Adilabad, Nizamabad and Warangal, each with the areas around which centres were located. No zone outside Telangana appears on the 2026 list.

The zone is chosen once: the Test Zones page says a request to change it "will not be entertained later", and the Convener keeps the right to add or delete centres or allot a candidate to a different zone. Test Zone 4, where late-fee registrants went, is Hyderabad (IV), with centres around areas including Kukatpally, Bachupally, Gandipet and Moinabad.

After the exam

Answer key

Each stream's 2026 preliminary key came bundled with the response sheet and master question paper, downloadable for exactly two days, with objections closing when that window did. The TG EAPCET 2026 home page gave the A&P stream from 11 May 2026, 11:30 AM until 13 May 2026, 11:30 AM, and the Engineering stream from 12 May 2026, 11:00 AM until 14 May 2026, 11:00 AM.

The TG EAPCET 2026 final key page serves a master question paper with final key against the EAPCET hall ticket number, not the Intermediate one, plus the registration number and date of birth. Marks against the final key are still not the rank: the Computer Based Test FAQs say ranking "will not be done directly" on those marks, because they are normalised first.

Scores

Result and scorecard

The flash notice on the TG EAPCET 2026 home page says rank card download was enabled for the Engineering and Agriculture and Pharmacy streams on 17 May 2026. The TG EAPCET 2026 rank card page uses the same three keys as the final key page.

A rank needs 25% of the maximum marks, measured on normalised marks, under the Engineering Instruction Booklet. SC and ST candidates face no qualifying mark at all, but that relaxation carries two conditions in the same booklet: they can be admitted only against the seats reserved for their categories, and a rank earned through it is cancelled if the caste claim fails at admission.

A 2026 rank counts for admission in 2026-27 alone, the Engineering Instruction Booklet adds.

Scores you need

Cutoff

A closing rank only matters once two earlier bars are cleared. The qualifying mark decides who is ranked at all, and counselling adds a bar in Intermediate marks: the TGEAPCET 2026 MPC Web Counselling Notification admits to its process only candidates who qualified and secured 45% (for OC) and 40% (for others) in the Intermediate group subjects, and the Bi.P.C. notification sets the same percentages.

Closing ranks by college, branch, category and gender are published as last rank statements, as the TGEAPCET 2025 final phase last rank statement shows. The TGEAPCET 2026 MPC Admissions Portal links the 2025 first, second and final phase statements, and the TGEAPCET Bi.P.C. 2026 Admissions Portal the 2025 first and final phase ones.

JNTUH also published, "FOR INFORMATION" under a disclaimer, how normalised marks translated into ranks in the two previous cycles. Each rank range starts one place after the row above ends, so a row covers marks up to the next row's mark. The 2025 bands:

Every band sat at lower rank numbers in 2025 than in 2024: in the 2024 and 2025 marks-vs-rank document, the Engineering row for 80 and above reads below 3,706 for 2024.

Getting a seat

Counselling and seat allotment

On their published schedules, the MPC counselling notification closed MPC-stream Convener counselling with internal sliding allotment on or before 15 August 2026, and the Bi.P.C. counselling notification runs its stream to physical reporting on 30 September and 1 October 2026. The Commissioner of Technical Education signs both as Convener, and the TG EAPCET 2026 admissions page lists, besides TGCHE's two portals, PJTAU's website for both streams and PVNRTVU's for the Agriculture and Pharmacy stream.

MPC Stream: B.E., B.Tech. and Pharmacy, 2026

The TGEAPCET 2026 MPC Web Counselling Notification, dated 8 June 2026, set a processing fee of Rs 600 for SC and ST candidates and Rs 1,200 for others, and this schedule.

Several rules in the MPC counselling notification shape a family's choices. An option list dies with its phase: the second and final phases each require a fresh one. A candidate allotted a seat in the second phase who does not report at the college cannot exercise options in the final phase. Where the tuition fee due is below Rs 5,000 (SC and ST) or Rs 10,000 (others), the candidate pays that minimum along with it, which is returned to those who report at the allotted college after the final phase and forfeited by those who do not. Dropouts and cancellations are not permitted after the final phase.

Rank alone does not decide the seat. The TG EAPCET Web Options FAQs published by TGCHE explain that a candidate with a lower rank can take a seat at a college you wanted if they placed it higher in their option list than you did.

Seats left after internal sliding went to institutional spot admissions. The TGEAPCET 2026 spot admissions guidelines scheduled them at the colleges on 19 and 20 August 2026, filled vacancies with TG EAPCET-qualified candidates first, set a processing fee of Rs 1,300 for qualified and Rs 2,100 for not-qualified candidates, and state that fee reimbursement does not apply to spot admits.

The MPC portal also carries a link titled "Detailed Notification Admissions into B Pharmacy and Pharm D Courses (MPC Stream)"; it leads to the Bi.P.C. portal.

Bi.P.C. Stream: B.Pharm, Pharm-D and Allied Courses, 2026

The TGEAPCET Bi.P.C. 2026 Detailed Notification, dated 8 September 2026, covers B.Pharmacy, Pharm-D, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Bio-Medical Engineering and Bio-Technology, with the same Rs 600 and Rs 1,200 processing fees.

The counselling notification departs from the exam documents on one point. The exam's Detailed Notification tied B.Tech. Biotechnology for Bi.P.C. candidates to the Intermediate bridge course in Mathematics, but the Bi.P.C. counselling notification says admission of Bi.P.C. students into B.Tech Bio-Technology "without Bridge course in mathematics is permitted." It adds that eligibility for B.Pharmacy and Pharm-D follows PCI guidelines.

Reservations, Minority Seats and Management Quota

The reservation orders cited in the MPC counselling notification are G.O. Ms. No. 244 of 2021 (10% for EWS), G.O. Ms. No. 33 of 2022 (10% for Scheduled Tribes), G.O. Ms. No. 2 of 2025 (5% for PH candidates with 40% or more disability) and G.O. Ms. No. 10 of 2025, which applies the Telangana Scheduled Castes (Rationalization and Reservations) Rules, 2025. It also sets 2% for children of armed forces personnel domiciled in Telangana, and lets minority candidates who did not qualify or appear be considered for leftover minority-college seats once qualified minority candidates are exhausted, without fee reimbursement.

Not every engineering seat is a Convener seat. TGCHE's Category B guidelines for B.E./B.Tech. 2026-27 let private unaided colleges fill 30% of seats under management quota: NRI candidates first, up to 15% of the sanctioned intake, then JEE Main rank holders, a pool the guidelines open to candidates "including from other States and Union territories", then TG EAPCET qualifiers on merit, and only then candidates on qualifying examination marks.

Where it is accepted

Participating institutes

The TG EAPCET 2026 Detailed Notification describes the institutions as universities and private unaided and affiliated professional colleges in Telangana. Both counselling portals link an Institute Profile, and the fee printed against a branch there is not final: the Attention to Parents and Candidates notice on the MPC portal says it is subject to Government of Telangana orders issued from time to time and to High Court orders, if any.

Two universities on the admissions page run their own admissions. The programmes panel of the P.V. Narsimha Rao Telangana Veterinary University home page says B.V.Sc. & A.H. admissions are based on NEET and TG EAPCET ranks, and B.F.Sc. and B.Tech. Dairy Technology admissions on TG EAPCET ranks. The PJTAU home page posts its own counselling notices under "Admissions for the AY 2026-27", including a second phase of counselling for its Bi.P.C.-stream undergraduate courses.

Exam queries in the 2026 cycle went to a different office from counselling queries. The Engineering Instruction Booklet printed one address under "Address for Correspondence": Convener, TG EAPCET-2026, Near State Bank of India, JNTUH Campus, Kukatpally, Hyderabad 500 085, Telangana. A candidate who still had no answer after the Online Application FAQs was told there to "contact the TG EAPCET-2026 Office: 91-94936 70121 or send an e-mail to: tgeapcethelpdesk2026@jntuh.ac.in".
