About MHT-CET
MHT-CET is a state-level entrance examination for undergraduate admissions in Maharashtra. The State Common Entrance Test Cell (State CET Cell), which sits under the Government of Maharashtra, conducts it as a computer-based test at designated centres.
Your MHT-CET score decides admission to engineering, technology, and pharmacy programmes at government, government-aided, and private colleges across the state. Seats are filled through Maharashtra's Centralized Admission Process (CAP), run by the same CET Cell. Registration, choice filling, document verification, and seat allotment all move through the CAP rather than through individual colleges.
The paper tests Physics and Chemistry alongside either Mathematics or Biology, following the Maharashtra State Board syllabus for Classes 11 and 12. If you take Mathematics, you can apply for engineering, technology, and pharmacy seats; if you take Biology, you are directed towards pharmacy and allied streams.
MHT-CET does not cover medical admissions. MBBS and BDS seats across India are filled through NEET, the mandatory national route for undergraduate medical courses.
