Kiet Group Of Institutions, Ghaziabad
On 6 November 2025 the Ministry of Education declared the campus at the 13 km stone on the Ghaziabad to Meerut road a deemed-to-be-university, and KIET's own disclosure for 2026-27 now answers the question "name of the affiliating University" with two words: Not Applicable. AICTE's extension of approval for the same session enters the same two words against every course it approves. Yet that disclosure also records second, third and fourth year still running under Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, so three cohorts will finish on the old rolls while the new intake starts on KIET's own.
What has not caught up is the counselling machinery. Uttar Pradesh's state admission portal still carries KIET seats under two institute codes, while KIET's own admission page describes a process the state has no part in. Which way that gap cuts depends on your programme: the state matrix still carries first-year seats on fourteen B.Tech branches, while for pharmacy it reaches diploma holders entering the second year and nobody else.
Overview
KIET is a private institution run by Krishna Charitable Society from a campus in Muradnagar, in Ghaziabad district, Uttar Pradesh. AICTE's approval letters put the institution at the 13 KM Stone Ghaziabad-Meerut Road and give Ghaziabad twice over as its address, while the sponsoring society's address on the same letter reads Muradnagar. The anti-ragging committee's civil and police representative is the Station House Officer at Muradnagar.
It opened in 1998 with an initial intake of 180 students and now teaches engineering, pharmacy, management and computer applications on one site, claiming a roll of 9300+ students against 440+ full-time faculty. Two status changes arrived in quick succession. The quality report dates the first precisely, Autonomous Status on 13th Nov 2023 by UGC, implemented from the Session 2024-25; deemed-to-be-university status followed in November 2025.
| The published record | Detail |
|---|---|
| Sponsoring body | Krishna Charitable Society |
| Year of establishment | 1998 |
| Status | Institution deemed to be University, general category, Section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 |
| Affiliating university | Not Applicable |
| Vice Chancellor | Prof. Nagaraj Ramrao |
| AICTE permanent id | 1-13439501 |
| NAAC | A+ at 3.32, cycle 2 |
The notification is conditional, and some conditions are about things a student cares about. Krishna Charitable Society has to permanently maintain documentary evidence of a corpus fund of Rs 25 crore in the institute's name, KIET may not engage in activities that are commercial and profit making in nature, and it is told to start the Ph.D. programme and improve postgraduate enrolment. The Commission cleared the recommendation at its 590th meeting on 14.05.2025. The copy KIET hosts is the e-published Gazette page itself, and the identical file is served from the government's own Gazette archive, so the wording above can be checked without going through the college.
Courses & Fees
Fees here are quoted per year as tuition plus a separate examination fee, and B.Pharm is priced with the cheaper B.Tech branches rather than below them.
| Programme, 2026-27 | Annual tuition | Annual exam fee |
|---|---|---|
| D.Pharm | Rs 95,000 | Rs 8,500 |
| B.Pharm | Rs 1,70,000 | Rs 8,500 |
| M.Pharm, Pharmaceutics or Pharmacology or Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance | Rs 1,70,000 | Rs 10,000 |
| B.Tech, computer science family | Rs 1,90,000 | Rs 8,500 |
| B.Tech, electronics, electrical, mechanical, mechatronics | Rs 1,70,000 | Rs 8,500 |
| M.Tech, CSE or CSE (AI and ML) | Rs 1,70,000 | Rs 10,000 |
| MBA | Rs 1,80,000 | Rs 8,500 |
| MCA | Rs 1,60,000 | Rs 8,500 |
| M.Sc (Applied Mathematics and Computing), per semester | Rs 50,000 | Rs 8,500 |
A pharmacy student pays Rs 20,000 a year less than a computer science student and the same as a mechanical one, so the fee gap that decides most KIET choices runs between branches of B.Tech, not between disciplines. KIET School of Pharmacy was established in 2005; the master's specialisations came later, Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology in 2010 and Quality Assurance in 2019.
Hostel charges are published openly, by room type, and include mess.
| Girls hostel room type, per year | Non-AC | AC |
|---|---|---|
| Single occupancy | Rs 1,50,000 | Rs 2,02,000 |
| Double occupancy | Rs 1,45,000 | Rs 1,87,000 |
| Triple or four occupancy | Rs 1,40,000 | Rs 1,70,000 |
Two numbers in KIET's own documents disagree about what a resident pays. The table above is one; a line further down the disclosure estimates the cost of boarding and lodging at Rs 1,03,000 per year per student including mess charges. The gap runs from nearly half a semester's tuition on the cheapest room to more than a full semester's on the dearest, so ask which figure applies before you budget.
Two programmes sit outside the university's own list. D.Pharm and M.Sc (Applied Mathematics and Computing) are both priced on the fee sheet and both have a tab on the fee page, but the disclosure's statement of programmes offered as a deemed university names only B.Tech and B.Pharm below postgraduate level, and its AICTE-approved list omits them too. The diploma's position is the odder of the two: the 2022-23 AICTE letter bound into that same file lists it against the Uttar Pradesh Board of Technical Education while every other row names AKTU. KIET still recruits for it, with a D.Pharm card of its own on the admission page and no entrance exam named against it, but nothing in the 2026-27 file says which body approves the diploma now.
Admissions
KIET's admission page and the state's seat matrix both describe how you get in here, and they describe different processes. KIET's own admission procedure is university-run end to end: register on the KIET portal, pay an application fee of Rs 500 plus taxes, get shortlisted on a national entrance score or on qualifying-examination merit, then accept the offer and pay a seat booking amount of Rs 50,000 within seven days or watch it lapse. Uttar Pradesh Technical Admission Counselling, meanwhile, still lists the campus in the seat matrix it publishes for the 2026-2027 session, under institute code 029 for engineering and management and code 199 for KIET School of Pharmacy.
Get it in writing from the admission cell, for your specific programme, before any money moves. KIET's admission procedure does not mention UPTAC at any of its eleven steps, and the state matrix does not mention KIET's portal, so nothing either body publishes reconciles the two.
B.Pharm here turns on which subjects you took at school rather than on which entrance you sat. The disclosure requires a 10+2 pass with Physics and Chemistry compulsory plus one of Mathematics, Biology, Biotechnology or a technical vocational subject, names the Common University Entrance Test as the route in, and lists a second door beside it: direct admission on the percentage in the qualifying subjects, subject to seats being available.
The KIET Entrance Examination is not one of those doors. It is conducted for admission to the B.Tech programmes and nothing else, runs on campus in online mode for 100 minutes, and carries 50 multiple-choice questions worth 2 marks each with no negative marking: 25 of Mathematics, 15 of Physics, 5 of aptitude and reasoning and 5 of English grammar. A pharmacy applicant who books a KEE slot has bought the wrong test.
Management-quota demand is lopsided in a way the fee table does not explain. The disclosure records roughly 8612 applications a year for B.Tech under management quota against 93 for B.Pharm, with 359 B.Tech admissions made from that pool and no B.Pharm admission count stated against those 93. That quota covers 15 per cent of seats.
For the master's, GPAT is a preference rather than a gate. The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test appears in the admission page's list of scores a merit evaluation may use, and the scholarship schedule separately promises incentives for GATE and GPAT qualified candidates without naming an amount.
Cutoff
KIET prints one closing-rank grid for the whole institution, course by course against four admission years, with a dash wherever a branch did not yet exist. B.Pharm runs the full four, and its last column breaks the pattern of the three before it.
| Closing rank | 2025 | 2024 | 2023 | 2022 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| B.PHARM. | 475404 | 34789 | 41744 | 33889 |
| CSE, for comparison | 125693 | 106220 | 104213 | 95368 |
| Mechanical Engineering | 2006409 | 423501 | 749849 | 729649 |
Read those columns as four separate documents rather than one trend line. Between 2024 and 2025 the pharmacy figure multiplied by more than thirteen and mechanical engineering by nearly five while computer science moved by less than a fifth, and the table never names the examination, round or quota each rank belongs to. The three earlier years support something modest: a B.Pharm seat here closed in the mid thirty thousands to low forty thousands from 2022 to 2024, and it has never been the scarce commodity a computer science seat is.
The state matrix adds a detail the disclosure does not. In the matrix UPTAC publishes for the 2026-2027 session, KIET School of Pharmacy appears on a single row, for B.Pharm lateral entry under code 199, with no first-year row against that code. UPTAC's own rank tables follow the matrix: filtered to the pharmacy school its cut-off page returns nothing this cycle, while KIET's engineering and management code already carries allotted ranks. The state is running first-year B Pharmacy to its own separate schedule, so a fresh 10+2 applicant has no UPTAC closing rank for this campus to aim at yet.
Placements
KIET's pharmacy placement record is documented three times, in three institution-published sources, and the three do not say the same thing.
The ranking return is the most specific, giving the graduating cohort, the number placed and a median salary for three years.
| B.Pharm, ranking return | 2021-22 | 2022-23 | 2023-24 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Graduating in minimum stipulated time | 88 | 78 | 86 |
| Placed | 32 | 27 | 51 |
| Median salary of placed graduates | Rs 425000 | Rs 300000 | Rs 382000 |
| Selected for higher studies | 15 | 22 | 21 |
Even the strongest of those three years put 51 of 86 into a job, and in 2022-23 the two destinations nearly met, 27 placed against 22 going on to study, out of 78 who finished. The master's cohort is the mirror image: 35 of the 38 who finished M.Pharm in 2023-24 were placed, at a median of Rs 300000, which sits below the bachelor's median in the same year. Rs 300000 is also exactly what the master's median was the year before, while the bachelor's figure moved in both directions across the same span.
The disclosure counts the same graduates differently. Its batch table gives B.Pharm 100 passed and 71 placed for 2019-2023, 79 passed and 69 placed for 2020-2024, and 96 passed and 71 placed for 2021-2025, and M.Pharm 45 passed against 18 placed for 2023-2025. Set the 2020-2024 batch beside the ranking return's 2023-24 and the two differ on both columns, 79 against 86 finishing and 69 against 51 placed. The M.Pharm rows sit a year apart and a long way from each other, 18 of 45 in the disclosure's 2023-2025 batch against 35 of 38 in the return's 2023-24.
Against all of that, the pharmacy programme page claims a consistent placement record with more than 95% placement of students. No numeric record KIET has filed reaches 95 per cent in any year, in either document. Treat the page as marketing and the two tables as the evidence.
Campus-wide salary figures exist but are not broken down by course. The disclosure puts students placed over the last three years as working with a minimum salary of Rs 4.00 lacs per year, a maximum of Rs 60.00 lacs and an average of Rs 5.39 lacs, while the placement records page advertises a record salary package of Rs 1.78 Cr, 370+ companies visiting and 1600+ students placed for the 2025 season. The two are not even the same claim: one is a ceiling over three years for the whole institution, the other a single season's record offer. Neither is attributed to a programme, and that page's year-by-year charts are images with no figures in selectable text. The only programme-specific salary KIET publishes for pharmacy is the ranking return's median.
Seat Matrix
Pharmacy intake here has been flat and full for four consecutive sessions, which is the strongest thing the numbers say about demand.
| Pharmacy seats, sanctioned and admitted | 2025-26 | 2024-25 | 2023-24 | 2022-23 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| B.Pharm | 100 and 100 | 100 and 100 | 100 and 100 | 100 and 100 |
| M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics) | 15 and 15 | 15 and 15 | 15 and 14 | 15 and 15 |
| M.Pharm (Pharmacology) | 15 and 15 | 15 and 15 | 15 and 15 | 15 and 15 |
| M.Pharm (Quality Assurance) | 15 and 15 | 15 and 13 | 12 and 10 | 12 and 12 |
Every first-year B.Pharm seat filled in all four sessions. Quality Assurance, the newest specialisation, is where the vacancies cluster; Pharmaceutics left a single seat empty in 2023-24 and Pharmacology has never left one. The master's total is also the only line here that has grown, from 42 sanctioned postgraduate places in 2022-23 and 2023-24 to 45 once Quality Assurance was levelled up to the other two. Beside pharmacy, the approved list is dominated by computing: 300 seats in computer science and engineering, 300 in the AI and machine learning branch, 240 each in computer science and in the artificial intelligence branch, 180 each in CSIT, information technology and electronics and communication, 240 in MBA and 300 in MCA, against 100 for B.Pharm.
The state matrix is a different and much smaller pool. Under institute code 029, KIET offers seats on 18 rows of the current UPTAC matrix, the two largest being 77 seats on MBA lateral entry and 84 on MCA lateral entry. Under code 199 the pharmacy school offers exactly 41 net seats on B.Pharm lateral entry, broken across the full category grid with the open unreserved block the largest at 11. A diploma holder entering the second year is therefore the one pharmacy applicant with a state-allotted route in.
Rankings
Pharmacy is the only discipline at KIET that carries a numbered national rank, and it has improved in every edition since 2022.
| NIRF Pharmacy | 2022 | 2023 | 2024 | 2025 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rank | 97 | 88 | 77 | 71 |
| Score | 37.84 | 40.16 | 43.42 | 45.73 |
| Research and professional practice | 9.79 | 14.78 | 24.69 | 30.47 |
| Perception | 22.23 | 13.42 | 9.17 | 13.80 |
The climb is a research climb. Research and professional practice more than tripled across those four years while perception, the parameter built on what employers and academics say about the place, fell by more than half before recovering part of the ground. In the 2025 table KIET scores 65.40 on teaching and resources, 51.27 on graduation outcomes and 53.43 on outreach, and its 13.80 on perception sits less than half as high as its next weakest parameter, the 30.47 on research.
The other two entries carry no number at all. KIET's own disclosure records the 11-50 band in Innovation and the 151-200 band in Engineering, and the ministry's innovation and engineering lists carry it in both, alphabetically and unscored, so neither can be set against the pharmacy number. An institution whose sanctioned intake is overwhelmingly engineering therefore carries its one comparable national rank in pharmacy.
Departments
Facilities & Infrastructure
The teaching estate is measured room by room in the disclosure: 79 classrooms over about 7,580 square metres, 23 tutorial rooms over 2,078, 59 laboratories over 6,763, four drawing halls over 867 and eight computer centres over 1,163, served by a 3,500 Mbps dedicated radio link and 2,119 systems, with online examination capacity for about 120 students at once.
The laboratory inventory in that file is worth a caution. It numbers 66 laboratories in detail, department by department, and not one of them is a pharmacy laboratory. For pharmacy equipment you have to go to the programme page, which names gas chromatography, an atomic absorption spectrophotometer, HPLC, FT-IR, Western blotting, a gel documentation system and a Varsa Trek automated microbial detection system, plus an animal house, a Central Instrumentation Facility and centres of excellence in tuberculosis and natural product development. Neither list is complete, so ask to see the labs on a campus visit.
The library is stocked by discipline, and pharmacy is well served relative to its size: 2,018 pharmacy titles across 9,423 volumes, more titles than any engineering branch, with 25 national journals and 23 e-journals against them. A separate e-library section runs ten computers from 09:00 to 20:00 on working days. Sport gets several pages of the disclosure to itself, from a floodlit cricket ground to a shooting range and a kabaddi court.
Hostel
Faculty
The pharmacy school publishes a full teaching roster, and it is a junior one: 44 names, made up of 7 professors, 9 associate professors, 23 assistant professors, 4 lecturers and 1 professor of practice, with Prof. (Dr.) Daksh Bhatia named as Professor and Principal.
The ranking return, filed for 2025, describes a slightly different department: 41 faculty rows, of whom 23 are women and 23 hold a doctorate, 34 still working and 7 recorded as having left during the reporting window. Just over half the roster carries a doctorate, so check the specific supervisor's qualification if you intend to do project work here.
Who runs the school is unclear from the published documents. The disclosure's anti-ragging committee names Prof. (Dr.) K. Nagarajan as Principal-KSOP, while the programme page gives that title to Daksh Bhatia and carries the dean's message under his name. Ask the office who currently signs, because that is the person a grievance or a bonafide certificate goes to.
Doctoral supervision is thin, and the ministry said so in the notification that made KIET a university. Pharmacy's whole doctoral roll in the 2025 return is 7 scholars reading full time and 6 part time, and the column for degrees actually awarded shows a single part-time doctorate in each of 2022-23 and 2023-24 and none at all on the full-time side. The last of the sixteen conditions attached to deemed status tells KIET to start the Ph.D. programme and lift postgraduate enrolment.
Research money is where the departments diverge. Pharmacy reported 3 sponsored projects worth Rs 4373000 in 2023-24 and 15 consultancy clients worth Rs 1353460, with patents published rising from 13 in calendar 2021 to 77 in 2023. The disclosure names that consultancy work: pre-clinical and animal studies for a botanical company and a dental research institute, formulation strategy for a lozenges maker, bioavailability testing, biodegradable sanitary napkins. Its institution-wide grant list, covering five years, carries only two pharmacy rows.

Approvals & Accreditation
Statutory approvals and accreditation grades from official bodies.
Three separate bodies hold current findings on KIET, and one of them expires inside the next admission cycle.
Three rounds of NAAC assessment sit behind the A+ badge, though KIET's quality report counts them as two cycles, logging both the 2009 and the 2016 visit under Cycle 1: Grade A at 3.10 in 2009, Grade A at 3.05 in 2016, and Grade A+ at 3.32 in Cycle 2 from 04/01/2022, valid to 03/01/2027. Anyone joining a four-year degree in 2026 will be on the rolls when that grade lapses, and the ministry's notification makes keeping valid NAAC accreditation an explicit condition of the deemed status.
The National Board of Accreditation accredits programmes rather than institutions, and KIET's published table lists ten with expiry dates. B.Pharm, running since 2005, is accredited to 31st December 2028, the same date as MCA. Five older B.Tech programmes run to 30th June 2028, while computer science, CSIT and the MBA expire on 30th June 2027. Civil engineering, which the institution taught until recently, is not on the list at all.
AICTE approval runs under permanent id 1-13439501, the number to quote on a verification request. The extension of approval issued under it for 2026-27, bound into the disclosure, is the second official document to register November's change: it files the institution type as Institution Deemed to be University (Pvt), enters NOT APPLICABLE against affiliating body on every course row, and approves a change of name from KIET Group of Institutions to Krishna Institute of Engineering & Technology (KIET), Ghaziabad. Search results and older certificates will carry the former name for years.
Aid
Scholarships
KIET's awards are academic prizes paid after results rather than need-based fee reductions, and the sums are small beside a Rs 1,70,000 tuition bill.
The largest go to university rank holders: a gold medallist receives Rs 50,000, a silver medallist Rs 40,000, a bronze medallist Rs 30,000, and the Kamal Rani Varun medallist and the holders of ranks four to ten Rs 20,000 each. Course and branch toppers get Rs 12,000 for first position and Rs 6,000 for second, on both semesters with a clear pass at the first attempt, paid the following year.
Below that sits a sliding scale open to every B.Pharm and B.Tech student in the first three years: 85% aggregate across both semesters is awarded Rs 500, with Rs 200 more for each percentage point above 85, so the document's worked example puts a 90 per cent student at Rs 1,500. A separate award gives the top two first-year B.Pharm students Rs 3,000 each for improvement on their PCB or PCM percentage at 10+2.
Fee waivers work differently, and the wording has not caught up with the new status. The disclosure states that fee waiver students are allotted through counselling by the University and only these allotted students are eligible, a sentence written for the state counselling regime. Scheduled caste and scheduled tribe students are pointed instead at schemes offered by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of India, which are not KIET's own money.

Student Reviews
KIET does publish what its students think of it, in numbers, and the lowest score on the sheet is not the one you would expect. A NAAC-mandated Student Satisfaction Survey runs every semester through the ERP portal, open only to students with more than 60% attendance, and where a faculty member's average falls below 6.5 the Registrar opens a corrective and preventive action file and sends it to the Director (Academics), who settles an improvement plan with the relevant dean.
Nothing in the teaching block comes near that trigger. On a ten-point scale the 2023-24 survey puts all eleven faculty items between 7.99 and 8.06 and the eight teaching-resource items between 7.91 and 8.00, a spread so tight it says more about the instrument than about the teaching.
The nine central-facility scores spread much wider, and they rank the campus in the students' own order: Library 7.63, Security 7.54, housekeeping and cleanliness 7.44, Laboratories 7.37, Canteen 7.22, Medical 7.01, Transportation 7.01, Hostel 6.84, and Games and Sports lowest of all at 6.65. Two of those are worth holding against the rest of the record. The sports estate the disclosure describes over several pages is the thing students rate worst on campus, and Laboratories at 7.37 is the students' own verdict on the facilities that inventory never lists.
Ask current B.Pharm students about laboratory access and about how the placement season actually ran for their batch. Those are the two points where KIET's own documents disagree most sharply with each other.
Campus
Gallery
KIET's campus gallery is organised by event, not by facility, and every album on it is a festival, a summit or a conclave: Epoque, Innotech, Rann, Frescos, Farewell, AI Summit, TEDx, National Conclave Synergy, Dataverse, PharmaManthan, IEAW and MANIFEST. The images carry no captions, dates or locations in text, so they show you a crowd and a stage.
Buildings are photographed elsewhere on the site; rooms are not. The hostel page carries exteriors of the boys' and girls' blocks and of the off-campus Abhimanyu hostel, and names the seven boys' hostels one by one, from C. V. Raman to Chanakya. The infrastructure page photographs the academic blocks, the front gate and the girls' hostel from outside. What no page shows is a pharmacy laboratory bench, the animal house or the inside of a hostel room, which are the three things a B.Pharm applicant is actually choosing between. Ask the admission office for a campus visit slot.
