Jagan Institute Of Management Studies (rohini)

North West, Delhi Est. 1993 Official site Updated
NIRF Management
#90

Jagan Institute of Management Studies at Sector 5, Rohini does not award an MBA. Its senior qualification is a two-year AICTE-approved Post Graduate Diploma in Management, priced at Rs 9,90,000 for the 2025-27 batch, and the return the institute filed with the government's ranking framework records a median salary of Rs 9,05,000 for the batch that finished in 2023-24. The same campus also teaches four Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University programmes whose annual fee is fixed by a Delhi government notification rather than by the institute. Which of those two systems an applicant is entering settles the entrance test, the fee and the way a seat is allotted, and almost nothing crosses between them.

Overview

The institute is run by the Jagannath Gupta Memorial Educational Society, registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 and described by the society as not-for-profit. JIMS Rohini was the first thing the society built. It opened in 1993 and sits at 3, Institutional Area, Sector-5, Rohini, a short walk from Rithala metro station on the Red Line.

That society now runs nine institutions, and the names repeat in a way that costs applicants real money. Its own chronological list runs from Jagan Institute of Management Studies, Rohini through Jagannath International Management School at Vasant Kunj, Jagannath Gupta Institute of Engineering and Technology at Jaipur, Jagan Institute of Management Studies at Jaipur, JIMS Engineering Management Technical Campus at Greater Noida, Jagannath University at Jaipur, Jagannath International Management School at Kalkaji, Jagannath University NCR and Jagannath Community College at Rohini. Everything on this page describes the Sector 5 campus in Rohini and none of the other eight. The Delhi government's own fee schedule keeps them apart the same way, by street address: it lists Jagan Institute of Management Studies (Rohini) at 3, Institutional Area, Sector-5 separately from the Kalkaji and Vasant Kunj institutes further down the same table.

Inside the Rohini gate, two regulatory systems run side by side. The postgraduate diplomas and the doctoral Fellow Programme are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and admitted by the institute itself. The undergraduate degrees and the MCA are affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University and admitted through that university's counselling. Nothing about the diploma side, from the entrance test to the fee card to the placement filing, describes the affiliated side, and the reverse holds too. The one government ranking the campus carries covers only the management vertical: rank 90 in the NIRF 2025 management table on a score of 46.63.

Courses & Fees

Eight programmes run on the campus, four approved by AICTE and admitted here, four awarded by the affiliating university and admitted through its counselling. Programme length is where applicants are caught out most often: the BBA taught here is a four-year undergraduate programme, not the three-year degree the initials suggest elsewhere.

The diploma price does not vary by specialisation. One figure covers the general PGDM and its international business version, and the fee card prints it in four instalments with the due date attached to each.

Fee head, PGDM 2025-27 batchAmount (Rs)Due
Total programme fee9,90,000Across four instalments

Second instalment2,45,00019 November 2025
Third instalment2,65,0008 July 2026
Fourth instalment2,00,00018 November 2026

Two cautions belong beside that card. It is labelled for the 2025-27 batch and its last instalment falls due in November 2026, so an applicant for the following batch is reading the outgoing cohort's price rather than their own. And the page carries three blocks, two of them headed for the general PGDM and one for PGDM-IB, with the retail management diploma not separately named on it. Anyone accepting an offer in retail management should ask for that programme's fee card in writing rather than assume the same total.

The doctoral programme is priced on a schedule of its own, which starts low and steps up through the first three years.

Fellow Programme in ManagementAmount (Rs)

Year three, two half-yearly instalments1,55,000
Three-year total3,85,000
Additional fourth year, two half-yearly instalments1,00,000
Four-year total4,85,000

Read the two totals on that page together with the programme description. The fee card labels the fourth year as additional and prints Rs 3,85,000 and Rs 4,85,000 as separate totals, while the programme page describes the Fellow Programme as a four-year full-time doctoral programme outright. Budget the larger figure.

The affiliated degrees are priced by the Delhi government, not by JIMS. Because the institute is a privately managed college of a state university, its annual fee is notified by the Lieutenant Governor on the recommendation of a State Fee Regulatory Committee, and the sixth committee's schedule was published in the Delhi Gazette Extraordinary of 14 July 2025 for the academic years 2025-26 through 2027-28.

ProgrammeNotified annual fee, 2025-26 (Rs)
MCA (first and second shift)1,85,200
BBA (first and second shift)1,13,200
BCA (first and second shift)1,11,100
B.A. (Hons.) Economics (first and second shift)1,07,800

The schedule also assigns each institute a letter grade that sets its band, and JIMS Rohini is graded A+ in it. That is a fee-committee grade rather than an academic one, and it is why a BBA seat here is priced below the Rs 1,15,300 charged by institutes in the band above. The institute's own pages simply record the fee for these four programmes as the one prescribed by GGSIP University, so the gazette is where the number actually lives.

Admissions

The diploma side runs its own selection and publishes the arithmetic behind it, which is more than most private business schools do. A candidate needs a valid score in MAT, CAT, CMAT, XAT, ATMA or GMAT, and the score then carries less than half the decision.

Selection parameterWeight
Entrance test40%
Performance in qualifying examinations20%
Personal interview25%
Group discussion15%

Both interview rounds are marked on a printed rubric rather than an impression. The personal interview carries 25 marks split five ways across appearance, communication skills, general awareness, academic knowledge, and vision and commitment, and the group discussion carries 15 marks across ability to lead, clarity of thought and analytical skills, and communication skills. Sixty of the hundred points are therefore decided on the day rather than by a scorecard mailed in advance.

The graduation requirement is where the institute's two websites part company, and the gap is wide enough to change who is eligible. Its group site asks for 55% marks in graduation in any discipline for the PGDM and 50% for the international business and retail management diplomas, with students appearing in the final year examination also eligible. Its admissions microsite asks for a recognised bachelor's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% marks, and 55% for SC and ST candidates. The same pair of pages also disagrees about the accepted tests, since the microsite names CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT and ATMA and leaves GMAT off. A candidate sitting between the two thresholds, or holding only a GMAT score, should get the applicable rule confirmed by email before paying anything.

Applying is cheap and covers more than one diploma. Prospectus and application forms cost Rs 1,000, payable online, by demand draft in favour of Jagan Institute of Management Studies payable at Delhi, or in cash at the Rohini campus, and more than one programme may be chosen on the same form at no additional cost. Shortlisted candidates are then called to the group discussion and interview, and the schedule published for the incoming batch lists an online round on 16 June 2026 at 9:00 AM.

The affiliated degrees work nothing like that. Admission to the BBA, the BCA and B.A. (Hons.) Economics is on the merit of the university's Common Entrance Test, with seats left vacant after that list filled from the CUET merit list, and each programme names the CUET subject codes it will read. The MCA runs a three-step order instead: NIMCET first, then CET if seats remain after NIMCET counselling, then CUET. Eligibility on that side is 50% in the qualifying examination, or 45% for reserved-category candidates, for the MCA, and 50% in aggregate at 10+2 with English for the three undergraduate degrees. None of it passes through the JIMS admissions office; the university runs the counselling.

Cutoff

There is no published percentile bar for the PGDM here, and that absence is the honest answer rather than a gap in the research. The institute states the entrance test as a valid score in one of six accepted examinations and then scores it at 40% against three other parameters. A percentile therefore buys a place in the pool and nothing more, which is a different proposition from a school that filters at a stated number before it reads anything else.

One document does put percentiles on a scale, though it decides money rather than entry. The Merit cum Means Scholarship table for the 2026-28 batch pays Rs 3,00,000 above 90 percentile in CAT or XAT, Rs 2,00,000 from 85 to 89.9 percentile and Rs 1,00,000 from 75 to 84.9 percentile. Read against a Rs 9,90,000 fee, that is the closest thing JIMS publishes to a statement of what a score is worth to it, and the top band is where the institute's own money starts moving.

Numbers do decide the four affiliated seats. They are simply not numbers this institute sets or publishes. A place in the BBA, BCA, B.A. (Hons.) Economics or MCA is allotted on the merit of the university's Common Entrance Test, with CUET filling whatever is left, so what settles the seat is a position in a GGSIPU-wide list drawn across every affiliated college at once. No closing rank for the Sector 5 campus could be verified against the university's round-wise counselling reports while this page was written, so none is printed here. Read that off the counselling portal when it opens, not off a coaching site's reconstruction of it.

Placements

This campus publishes its placement outcomes twice, in two documents built for different readers. The return that goes to the ranking framework is the auditable one, because it prints the size of the cohort next to the salary instead of the salary on its own.

Admission yearAdmittedGraduating yearGraduated in stipulated timePlacedMedian salary (Rs)
2020-212772021-222772778,10,000
2021-222662022-232662668,30,000
2022-232692023-242572579,05,000

Read the last row across before reading the salary. Of 269 students admitted in 2022-23, 257 finished within the stipulated time and all 257 were placed. The institute's own placement page states the same outcome as 100% placed, qualified in a footnote as being for eligible and interested students, and the filing is what shows the size of that qualification: twelve of the admitted cohort are not in the placed count because they did not graduate on time.

The institute's own record runs one batch further forward than the government filing does, and where the two overlap they agree.

BatchMedian salaryAverage salaryCompanies visited
2023-259.83 LPA9.95 LPA190
2022-249.05 LPANot published190+
2021-238.3 LPANot published190+

Set that beside the filing and the 9.05 LPA for the 2022-24 batch is the same figure as the Rs 9,05,000 filed for the 2023-24 graduating year, and the 8.3 LPA for 2021-23 matches the Rs 8,30,000 filed for 2022-23. A marketing page and a government return carrying identical numbers is not something to take for granted, and it makes the 9.83 LPA median for the 2023-25 batch worth provisional trust until the next filing confirms it.

The admissions page adds a distribution rather than a single figure, and names no batch against it: a highest package of 24 LPA, 16 LPA at the top 20%, 11 LPA at the top 50% and 9 LPA at the top 75%. Those four points describe the shape of a season better than a headline does, but the missing batch label is the reason to plan against the medians above instead.

Internships arrive before any of that. For the 2024-26 batch the institute reports a highest internship stipend of Rs 30,000, more than 110 companies visiting and more than 300 students placed into summer internships. Recruiters are published specialisation by specialisation rather than as one list; for the 2021-23 batch the marketing, finance and human resources columns name Amazon, Deloitte, McKinsey, KPMG, EY GDS, S&P Global, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, IDFC First Bank, IndusInd Bank, ITC Ltd., Berger Paints, Dabur, Godrej & Boyce, Hershey India, TCS and Amul among others. The marketing column on that page runs several times longer than the finance and human resources columns beside it, which is worth seeing before choosing a specialisation on the strength of the recruiter list.

Seat Matrix

Sanctioned strength on the diploma side is settled and small, and the institute publishes it in two places that agree. The admission procedure names an intake of 180 for the PGDM, 60 for PGDM-IB and 60 for PGDM-RM, and the batch profile for 2024-26 repeats those three numbers with the specialisation areas attached to each. The government filing then confirms the total from the other direction: 300 sanctioned places in the two-year postgraduate programmes in both 2023-24 and 2022-23.

Enrolment has sat below that ceiling in each of the three years on record. Against 300 sanctioned places the institute admitted 277 in 2020-21, 266 in 2021-22 and 269 in 2022-23, so roughly a tenth of the intake has gone unfilled each year. The shortfall has held steady rather than widened, which reads less like a school losing applicants than like one that stops short of filling every chair.

Two things about the resulting cohort are unusual for an Indian business school. Women outnumber men on this campus, 296 to 255 across the 551 students on the rolls, and the intake is overwhelmingly non-local, with 451 of those 551 drawn from outside Delhi against 100 from within the state. More than four in five students are therefore paying for a room in Delhi on top of the fee. The return also splits that body by disadvantage: an economically backward count of 97 and a socially challenged count of 25.

Nothing in the institute's published material breaks the diploma seats down by reservation category, so a candidate looking for an SC, ST, OBC or EWS quota on the autonomous side will not find one stated. On the affiliated side that question belongs to the university, since those seats are allotted through its counselling rather than by the institute.

Rankings

One government table carries this campus, and it is the management one. JIMS Rohini holds rank 90 on an overall score of 46.63 in NIRF 2025. The five parameters behind that composite range from the high 70s to the high single digits, and reading them separately says more than the rank does.

NIRF 2025 management parameterJIMS Rohini score
Teaching, Learning and Resources67.78
Research and Professional Practice8.79
Graduation Outcomes77.03
Outreach and Inclusivity74.81
Perception7.73

The inclusivity score is the surprise on that list. At 74.81 it sits above Management Development Institute at Gurugram on 70.58, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade on 67.20, IMT Ghaziabad on 67.30, IMI Delhi on 74.58 and FORE School of Management on 62.38, five NCR schools ranked far above JIMS overall. The institute's own filing explains it without any guesswork: a majority-women cohort, 451 of 551 students drawn from outside Delhi, and 72 students receiving full tuition fee reimbursement from institution funds.

Research pulls the composite the other way, and the same document accounts for that too. The institute reports 24 full-time doctoral scholars and no part-time ones, with one doctoral graduation in 2023-24, one in 2022-23 and none in 2021-22, alongside three sponsored projects worth Rs 24,40,000 and fourteen consultancy projects worth Rs 35,66,000 in 2023-24. A Fellow Programme of that size cannot generate what the research parameter counts, which is why an applicant who wants a research-heavy environment should weigh the 8.79 before anything else on the page, and an applicant who wants a classroom and a placement season should weigh the two scores in the 70s.

Departments

There are no departments here in the university sense. Teaching staff on the diploma side are grouped by academic area, and the core faculty listing is filtered by general management, finance management, human resources, marketing, and analytics and quantitative techniques, with each professor's teaching area, research area and years of experience printed against the name.

Specialisation is what stands in for a departmental structure. The PGDM offers marketing, finance, human resource, operations and business analytics, while the two badged diplomas run narrower: the batch profile lists international business, marketing and finance for PGDM-IB, and retail management, marketing and finance for PGDM-RM. Doctoral work is organised by area as well, and the Fellow Programme names finance and accounting, marketing, retail management, corporate social responsibility, organisational behaviour and human resource management, operations management, international business and trade, economics and other allied areas as its specialisations.

The affiliated side keeps its own bench, and the institute publishes it separately: there are standalone faculty pages for the MCA, the BCA and the BBA alongside the management listing. That split is the practical consequence of running an AICTE vertical and a university-affiliated vertical on the same plot.

Facilities & Infrastructure

The campus is a single plot in the Sector 5 institutional pocket, and the institute describes it as spacious and near Rithala Metro Station, easily reached by other public transport as well. Classrooms are air-conditioned with Wi-Fi and multimedia and audio visual equipment.

The library arrangement follows the two verticals. JIMS runs two libraries, one for the management programmes and one for the information technology programmes, subscribing to national and international magazines, periodicals, journals and research papers along with software packages for several journals. What that costs is filed rather than described: capital spending on books, journals and e-resources was Rs 74,10,260 in 2023-24, against Rs 85,36,658 in 2022-23 and Rs 47,72,362 in 2021-22, and laboratory setup and upgrade spending rose to Rs 81,32,916 in 2023-24 from Rs 74,13,122 the year before.

A student who needs step-free access should read the filing rather than the brochure line, because the filing answers in fractions of the estate. Read its three access answers as two hedges and one plain yes: more than 80% of the buildings have lifts or ramps, and more than 80% have specially designed toilets, which leaves a remainder the return never describes, while walking aids including wheelchairs, and transport between buildings come with no fraction attached. Which buildings fall outside that 80% is worth asking on a campus visit.

One part of the plant works for people who are not students at all. The management development side ran 77 executive and management development programmes for 2,435 participants in 2023-24, earning Rs 45,45,000 excluding lodging and boarding, up from 47 programmes for 1,407 participants the year before. That is a working corporate-training operation on the same campus, and it is where a good deal of the industry contact a student meets comes from.

Hostel

Accommodation here is a hostel the institute runs itself rather than a tie-up with a building down the road, and it is priced on one published line. JIMS describes a well-furnished hostel exclusively for males and females, with spacious rooms opening onto a balcony, a common room and a dining room.

Hostel charge, 2026-27Amount (Rs)
Double occupancy, per annum1,80,000
Refundable security5,000

That rate is per year, so a two-year student pays Rs 1,80,000 in each of the two years on top of the Rs 9,90,000 programme fee. No single-occupancy rate is published, and neither is an electricity or mess charge, so the double-sharing figure is a floor rather than a full accommodation budget. With 451 of the 551 students on the rolls coming from outside Delhi, this is the ordinary case here rather than an exception, and the number to settle in writing before accepting an offer.

Faculty

Nothing in the filed record names a single teacher on this campus. It gives a number and stops: 45 faculty members entered in the India Rankings 2025 return, set against 551 students on the rolls across both years of the two-year programmes. The roster behind that count is not published with it, so ages, designations and dates of joining cannot be read off the government record.

What the institute does publish is a three-way split most private business schools collapse into one page. Core teaching staff sit on the core faculty listing, which itself divides into a management bench and an information technology bench, and there are separate pages for contractual faculty and for visiting faculty. Reading all three together is how a candidate finds out whether the professor teaching a chosen specialisation is on the payroll full time or comes in for a course, which is a question the headline count cannot answer.

What that staff costs is filed. Salaries for teaching and non-teaching staff came to Rs 16,41,82,887 in 2023-24, against Rs 12,61,94,809 in 2022-23 and Rs 8,38,58,195 in 2021-22, close to a doubling in two years on a student body that did not double.

Notable Alumni

JIMS Rohini names twelve alumni on its own PGDM page, each with an employer, a role and a batch year attached rather than a first name and a logo.

Read the batch column before the job titles. Every name there entered the institute in 2011 or earlier, so what the list shows is where a JIMS Rohini diploma has reached over a long career, not what a recent batch starts on; the medians JIMS files with NIRF are the honest comparison for that. The wider network is counted at 5500+ and reachable through the institute's alumni portal, which is the route to anyone from a batch closer to your own.

News & Articles

The dated item most likely to matter to a 2026 entrant is an accreditation clock. All three postgraduate diplomas are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation for the academic years 2024-25, 2025-26 and 2026-27, that is up to 30 June 2027, which is inside the two years a 2026-28 student will spend on the campus. The MCA sits on a longer clock, accredited from 1 July 2025 to 31 December 2025 and again from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2028.

The admissions paperwork is midway through its annual turn, and the two halves of it are out of step. The scholarship page has already been updated to the 2026-28 batch while the fee card still carries the 2025-27 batch and its November 2026 instalment. The selection calendar published for the incoming batch shows an online group discussion and interview round on 16 June 2026, with the rows after it marked as still to be announced, so a candidate watching for an offline city round should check that page again rather than assume the online slot is the only one.

The gazette that prices the affiliated degrees carries its own escalator. Only the 2025-26 column holds a real figure; for 2026-27, and again for 2027-28, the schedule hands the increase to the wholesale price index the Government of India announces, with no fresh committee sitting in between. A BBA or MCA candidate reading the 2025-26 row is therefore reading a floor rather than the price they will pay.

College Compare

The stretch of the NIRF table JIMS occupies is the tightest on it. In NIRF 2025, Pandit Deendayal Energy University takes rank 89 on 46.81, JIMS Rohini rank 90 on 46.63 and Rajagiri Business School rank 91 on 46.62. One hundredth of a point separates ranks 90 and 91, which is not a difference any student would experience.

What the table earns its keep for is the distance between this campus and the rest of the city. Only two Delhi institutions finish anywhere near it: New Delhi Institute of Management at rank 86 on 47.25 and Jamia Hamdard at 87 on 47.10, against 46.63, with two institutions from outside the region in between. Those are the two an applicant choosing among private Delhi B-schools is really weighing. The NCR names most candidates have already heard of sit a long way above all three: IIT Delhi at 4, MDI Gurugram at 9, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade at 17, Jamia Millia Islamia at 28, IMT Ghaziabad at 30, IMI Delhi at 40, Jaipuria Noida at 41, Great Lakes Gurgaon at 50, FORE School of Management at 59, BIMTECH Greater Noida at 61 and BML Munjal at 77.

One entry on that table is a peculiarity of this campus rather than a competitor. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University sits at rank 76 on 48.88, above JIMS Rohini, and it is the university that awards the BBA, BCA, economics and MCA degrees taught inside the same building. The two rows measure different things, the university's own management school on one side and this institute's diplomas on the other, so neither score describes the affiliated degrees a student would actually be enrolled in.

Two websites carry this campus and they are not interchangeable. jimsrohini.org is the admissions microsite and holds the fee cards, the scholarship table, the GD-PI calendar and the summer internship record; jimsindia.org is the group site and holds the society's institution list, the affiliated-degree admission rules, the hostel charge and the NAAC documents. Where the two overlap, as they do on eligibility, they do not always say the same thing, so quote the page you read when you write to the admissions office.

official-report

The NAAC grade on this campus is a consequence of its structure rather than a verdict on its diplomas. NAAC assesses colleges and universities, and JIMS Rohini is a college of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University for four of its programmes, so it goes through that process and comes out with an institution-wide grade. A purely standalone diploma institute has nothing for the council to assess, which is why the row below appears here and not on most Delhi PGDM pages.

The board's own register is worth going to directly, because the institute's two websites each tell half of the story. Its admissions microsite records that the PGDM, PGDM (IB) and PGDM (RM) are accredited by NBA and says nothing about the MCA; its group site records that MCA programmes are accredited from NBA and says nothing about the diplomas. Both statements are correct, on different registers and different clocks.

Two lines on that table deserve to be read carefully. AIU equivalence is granted diploma by diploma rather than to the institute, and it is what makes a PGDM here usable at a counter that asks for a master's degree, whether that is a government recruiter's or a doctoral admissions committee's. The institute also lists AACSB membership, and membership of an international body is not the same thing as its accreditation.

Only one of the four categories may be availed, so a strong CAT score and a strong academic record do not stack. Nor is the award paid up front: it is disbursed in the second, third and fourth instalments, which means the first instalment is paid at the full rate whatever the scorecard says.

The conditions attached are the part to read twice, because they run for the whole programme. A holder must have had a minimum of 60% in past academics, and must then maintain a minimum 65% aggregate in each trimester examination within the given time frame with no back paper, along with a minimum of 75% attendance in each trimester. Missing that in one trimester does not end the award outright; the institute states that a scholar who cannot perform in some trimesters receives the scholarship only in those trimesters where they are found eligible. Withdrawing after an instalment has been paid triggers a clawback, with the amount returned or deducted from any refund due.

Who ends up paying is on the public record. Split by source, the answer here is the society rather than the exchequer: 72 full tuition fee reimbursements out of institution funds against 13 out of state and central government sources. No private body funded a single one, and 37 students in that group received no full reimbursement.

Student Reviews

No verified star rating for this campus exists, and Expertie does not print one it cannot stand behind. What does exist here is more interesting than the usual absence: JIMS runs a structured exit survey under the NAAC framework and publishes the results, which almost no private business school does.

The newest edition the institute has posted is the one its NAAC page lists as the 2020 to 2021 survey. It puts questions to pass-out students on a five-point scale and reports industry interface at 4.51, faculty at 4.78, alumni strength at 4.45, placements at 4.44, infrastructure at 4.45, strength of course at 4.63 and value added courses at 4.52. Two things temper that. The institute designs, runs and publishes the survey itself, and nothing newer has gone up, so it describes a cohort that left before any of the batches whose salaries the institute now advertises.

The one opinion collected by somebody outside the institute is the ranking framework's perception survey, and it reads very differently: 7.73 out of 100 in NIRF 2025. That polls academics, employers and the public on standing rather than asking students about their experience, so the two measure different things. A candidate who wants the current student view will have to get it from students, and the alumni network is the shortest route to them.
