Rajagiri Business School awards no MBA. Its two-year programme at Rajagiri Valley in Kakkanad is a Post Graduate Diploma in Management, approved by AICTE and granted equivalence to an Indian university MBA by the Association of Indian Universities, and the MBA that carries the Rajagiri name belongs to a different institution inside the same group. That one distinction rearranges most of what a search on this school returns, because the fee, the seat count and the route in all follow the diploma rather than the degree. The Ministry of Education placed RBS 91st in management for 2025, and the returns it filed to earn that rank carry almost every number an applicant goes looking for.
Overview
RBS is a standalone institution, not a college sitting under a university. It was established in the year 2008, is part of the Rajagiri Group of Institutions and functions as a standalone institution with the approval from AICTE, on a campus in the Rajagiri Valley at Kakkanad, beside Kochi's Infopark and the SmartCity township. Standalone status is the reason no affiliating university appears anywhere on its paperwork and no state allotment stands between an applicant and a seat.
Ownership sits a level above the school. RBS is governed by the governing body of Rajagiri College of Social Sciences Society, registered under the Travancore Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955, and that society belongs to the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate, whose Sacred Heart Province at Kochi holds the Rajagiri institutions. AICTE's approval letter names the same society, records the year of establishment as 2008, the institution type as Private-Self Financing and the permanent identification number as 1-4787341.
The name confusion is worth clearing before anything else, because it is built into how the group markets itself. RCBS is a brand owned by Rajagiri which represents the management programs, the MBA and MA in HRM offered by the School of Management at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences, and the PGDM and FPM offered by Rajagiri Business School. Those first two are autonomous programs affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam; the second two are RBS's own AICTE-approved awards, and only they are described here. Rajagiri College of Social Sciences sits on its own campus at Kalamassery, and Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology is a third institution again under the same group. A rank, a fee or an admission date found under either of those names does not transfer to RBS.
Courses & Fees
Two courses carry AICTE approval at RBS, and the approval letter is the place to read them rather than the marketing pages.
| Programme | Length | Format | Approved intake for 2026-27 |
|---|---|---|---|
| PGDM | 2 years, 6 trimesters plus a summer internship | Full-time, residential | 240 |
| Fellow Programme in Management | Fellowship tenure of up to 5 years | Full-time doctoral, with a sponsored route | 20 |
| PGDM for Working Professionals | 18 months | Part-time, over 900 in-class hours | Not a separate course on the approval letter |
| PGDM International | Not stated | Shares the PGDM application and the same selection route | Not a separate course on the approval letter |
| Sources: the AICTE Extension of Approval for 2026-27, the programmes page, the PGDM for Working Professionals page and the admission process page. |
The flagship is described precisely on the programmes page: a two-year full-time programme spread over six trimesters and a summer internship, approved by AICTE and recognised as equivalent to an MBA Degree of an Indian University by the Association of Indian Universities. It launched in 2008, the same year the school did, and it offers dual specialisation, with the elective block sitting in the second year.
Fees are where RBS is thinnest, and the thinness is worth naming rather than filling in. The school publishes no current fee page and no fee link in its navigation. The one fee schedule it has put online covers the batch that entered in 2021 and finished in 2023, and it is head by head.
| Head | Billed in | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Tuition, first installment | Trimester I | Rs 4,00,000 |
| Tuition, second installment | Trimester IV | Rs 3,00,000 |
| Hostel, first installment | Trimester I | Rs 85,000 |
| Hostel, second installment | Trimester IV | Rs 83,000 |
| Books and stationery | Trimester I | Rs 7,500 |
| Industrial visits | Trimester I | Rs 5,000 |
| Organizational study | Trimester III | Rs 5,000 |
| Project study | Trimester III | Rs 10,000 |
| Placement | Trimester VI | Rs 3,000 |
| Examination fee | Each of the six trimesters | Rs 1,000 |
Read that sheet for its shape, not its totals. It tells you the real things about how RBS bills: tuition lands in two lumps at the start of the first and fourth trimesters rather than annually, the hostel line is separate from tuition and almost as lumpy, and small charges for the organizational study, the project study and placement are attached to specific trimesters so they arrive when the coursework does. What it cannot tell you is the current price. The sheet is headed for the trimesters of 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 while the cycle now open is 2026-27, and neither the school's site nor its AICTE filing publishes a newer figure in text. Get the year's schedule in writing from the admission office at admission@rajagiri.edu before you plan around any total, and treat any figure an aggregator prints for the current batch as unconfirmed.
The one fee RBS does state currently is the entry cost. Its application fee is Rs 1,000 and that single payment covers every programme on the shared form.
The doctoral programme inverts the arithmetic entirely. A funded FPM scholar is paid rather than charged: RBS states a lump sum of 25 Lakhs as fellowship during the five-year tenure, delivered as an Institute Research Fellowship of Rs 40,000 per month until registration and Rs 50,000 per month after successful registration until thesis submission. The fee list on that page is for sponsored candidates, who get no financial assistance and pay admission, tuition and course fees of Rs 50,000, annual registration fees of Rs 40,000 and thesis examination fees of Rs 25,000.
Admissions
One form covers five programmes across two institutions, which is exactly why applicants end up unsure what they have applied for. RBS states that Rajagiri offers a single, combined application for the PGDM, MA in HRM, MBA, PGDM International and IEMBA programs, and candidates tick the ones they want. At least two of those five, the MBA and the MA in HRM, are awarded by Rajagiri College of Social Sciences rather than by RBS.
The bar to be read is low and stated plainly: a pass in any Bachelor's Degree with not less than 50% marks in aggregate for all parts of examinations, or a pass in any Master's Degree Examination, with students completing an undergraduate programme in March to May 2026 also eligible to apply.
RBS reads six entrance tests, five Indian and one international, and which one you sat decides when you are interviewed rather than whether you are.
| Phase | Entrance scores considered | Interview window |
|---|---|---|
| First | CAT 2025, MAT December 2025 | Last week of January 2026 onwards |
| Second | CMAT 2026, MAT February 2026, XAT 2026 | Last week of February onwards |
| Third | The first KMAT of February 2026, GMAT | Within one week of the KMAT result |
The selection day itself carries three exercises, not two. Shortlisted candidates are invited to a Group Discussion, Personal Interview and Business Awareness Test, and RBS is explicit that a candidate can attend GDPI only once for 2026 admissions, though a candidate can report the scores of more than one entrance exam. So collecting scores costs nothing and helps you reach an earlier phase, but you get one interview day, and picking which phase to spend it in is a real decision rather than a formality.
Nothing is decided until every phase has run. Admission is based on the marks secured in the Entrance Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview, with the rank list prepared as per the regulations and guidelines of AICTE and published after completing all three phases of the admission process. Applications opened on 20 December 2025 and close on 25 June 2026 as a tentative date, with the rank list within 20 days of the GDPI completing. A CAT holder interviewed in January therefore waits out the KMAT phase before learning anything, because the ranking is done against candidates who have not sat their interview yet.
One clause in the applicant's statement of understanding matters more than anything else on the page, and it is easy to sign past. RBS asks every applicant to accept that Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous) is in the process of becoming a Deemed to be University, that as per AICTE norms a Deemed to be University can conduct only the MBA program, and that in such an event the application will be treated as an application for admission to the Master of Business Administration of Rajagiri Vidyapeetham, subject to the approval of AICTE. Read plainly, the award you are applying for may change from a diploma to a degree while your application is live. That is not a reason to avoid the school, and for many candidates a university MBA would be the preferable outcome, but it is a question to put to the admission office rather than discover later.
The school is direct about intermediaries, though its notice is loosely addressed. It states that admission at Rajagiri is managed by the college itself, that no agency or middlemen have been entrusted with admissions, and that online interviews are conducted by its own faculty, then adds that there will be no consideration by way of donation or capitation for management seats at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous). The anti-capitation sentence names the sister college and not RBS, on a page that is otherwise entirely about the PGDM. If a written no-donation assurance matters to you, get one that says Rajagiri Business School on it.
Cutoff
There is no percentile floor to clear at RBS, because the school publishes none for the PGDM in any of its admission material. What it publishes instead is the phase table above, and the honest reading is that the entry question here is about timing and interview performance rather than a number on a scorecard.
The only percentiles RBS commits to in writing sit on the scholarship page, and they are the closest thing to a published benchmark this admission process has.
| Published CAT percentile | What it triggers |
|---|---|
| Above 80 percentile | Eligibility for the Career and Talent Scholarship |
| 95th percentile or higher | Eligibility for the Director or Dean's Scholarship |
Treat those as a signal about the upper half of the intake rather than an entry bar, since neither is a condition of admission. Both still require you to have secured admission through the three phase selection process laid down by the Admissions Office of RBS first, so the percentile buys a discount on a seat you already hold. Any single figure circulating online as the RBS cutoff has been assembled by someone outside the school, and the school's own documents contradict the idea that such a number exists.
Placements
RBS files its placement record with the government every year, and the four graduating batches on record read as a recovery rather than a straight line.
| Graduating batch | Graduated in minimum stipulated time | Placed | Median salary | Went to higher studies |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2021-22 | 159 | 87 | Rs 5,50,000 | 5 |
| 2022-23 | 150 | 117 | Rs 4,50,000 | 9 |
| 2023-24 | 215 | 204 | Rs 7,00,000 | 1 |
| 2024-25 | 215 | 201 | Rs 7,50,000 | 8 |
| Sources: the first three batches from RBS's NIRF 2025 return, IR-M-S-164, Ministry of Education, and the fourth from the school's own NIRF 2026 data capturing system submission. |
Two different years hold the two low points, which is why a single headline about this school is usually wrong. The batch leaving in 2021-22 placed 87 of 159 graduates, barely more than half and the weakest share of the four. The batch a year behind it placed 117 of 150, better, but at a median of Rs 4,50,000, the lowest money on the file. From there the two measures move together: 204 of 215 at Rs 7,00,000, then 201 of 215 at Rs 7,50,000. The share of a cohort leaving with an offer went from barely half to nearly all of it while the cohort itself grew by a third, which is the harder combination to pull off. And median is the word to hold on to: half the placed students in the most recent batch earned less than Rs 7,50,000, and the school files no average and no highest package beside it.
Higher study barely registers against those cohorts. The four batches sent 5 students on to further study, then 9, 1 and 8, so this PGDM is bought as a route into a job.
What the school itself publishes about placements is the weakest part of the file. Its placements page sets out the pedagogy, the six competencies its selection process maps and the Individual Development Plan each student builds, then hands the recruiter list to a grid of logo images carrying no company names in readable text. There is no salary figure, no batch size and no recruiter count in plain text anywhere on it. The numbers in the table above exist only because a government ranking form asked for them.
Seat Matrix
Sanctioned strength goes to two different regulators and comes out the same both times. What that strength produced in practice sits alongside it and does not line up.
| Source | What it records |
|---|---|
| AICTE Extension of Approval 2026-27 | PGDM intake of 240 approved for 2025-26 and 240 for 2026-27, plus 20 for the Fellow Programme in Management |
| NIRF 2026 submission, sanctioned intake | 240 for the two-year postgraduate programme in 2024-25 and 240 in 2023-24 |
| NIRF 2026 submission, students actually admitted | 230 admitted against a first-year intake of 240 in 2022-23, and 253 admitted against 240 in 2023-24 |
| Sources: the AICTE Extension of Approval and the NIRF 2026 submission. |
The third row is the one to ask about. In 2023-24 RBS records more students admitted than the first-year intake it entered on the same form, which is not a shortfall an applicant needs to worry about but is worth a direct question if you are counting on section sizes. The year before, the same form shows it falling short of that intake instead. Demand at this school has not been flat.
There is no category-wise reservation grid to look for. RBS is a Private-Self Financing institution that draws up its own rank list, so no seat here is filled by a state counselling authority and no sanctioned category split appears on the site. The approval letter carries only AICTE's standing instruction, that the reservation policy of the central or respective state government shall be applicable to all the programmes, with no numbers attached. How that lands on a self-financing diploma is a question for the admission office, because RBS publishes no answer to it.
The roll those seats produce is filed in full. The most recent submission records 510 postgraduate students in total, 234 male and 276 female, of whom 394 are from within the state, 83 from outside it and 33 from outside the country.
Rankings
Only one NIRF table carries this school. Rajagiri Business School is 91st in management for 2025 on an overall score of 46.62, and RBS reprints that placing on its own rankings page. Nothing else lists it, because the PGDM and the FPM are the whole catalogue.
| NIRF year | Rank | Overall | Teaching, Learning and Resources | Research and Professional Practice | Graduation Outcomes | Outreach and Inclusivity | Perception |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 83 | 46.03 | 60.39 | 24.24 | 69.53 | 57.89 | 9.44 |
| 2024 | 93 | 44.33 | 65.55 | 20.92 | 59.14 | 56.91 | 8.69 |
| 2025 | 91 | 46.62 | 70.58 | 19.26 | 65.52 | 56.22 | 9.36 |
Two of those columns move steadily and in opposite directions. Teaching, learning and resources climbed more than ten points across the three years, from 60.39 to 70.58, which is the parameter built on faculty strength, student intake and money spent per student. Research and professional practice fell in each of the same years, from 24.24 to 19.26, and it is now the weakest limb of the scorecard apart from perception. The rank moved from 83 to 93 and back to 91 while all this happened, which is a fair reminder that a single position on a hundred-row table is a noisier signal than the parameters underneath it.
Perception has never reached double figures in these three years. That parameter is built on what academics and employers outside the institution say when surveyed, and a score under 10 means RBS is close to unknown to that panel, whatever its teaching numbers say. Inside Kerala the picture reverses completely: the same page records RBS ranked 1st in the Management Category in the Kerala Institutional Ranking Framework for 2025. First in one state, ninety-first in the country, on a reputation score that has never left single figures. A candidate who intends to work out of Kochi is buying the first of those; one who intends to interview in Delhi is buying the last.
Departments
Ask for a department here and you will be handed a domain. RBS files every teacher on its public roster under one of six, and the split is where the real elective depth shows.
| Faculty domain | Members listed |
|---|---|
| Finance and Economics | 12 |
| Human Resource | 7 |
| Marketing | 6 |
| Operations | 5 |
| Information Systems and Business Analytics | 5 |
| General Management | 2 |
| Counted off the six domain tabs on the RBS faculty page. |
Finance and economics carries nearly a third of the teaching strength on its own, and general management is the thinnest at two. Since the programme offers dual specialisation with electives chosen in the second year, that weighting is worth reading before you commit to a specialisation you assumed would be equally supported. Analytics and operations sit in the middle at five each, so the two most technical tracks are staffed alike.
Facilities & Infrastructure
Assembly space is what RBS documents most fully, and it is out of all proportion to the roll: the three halls below seat more than three times the number of students on the campus.
| Facility | What the school states |
|---|---|
| Chavara Hall | Seating capacity of 1300 |
| RBS auditorium | Fully air-conditioned, seating capacity of 300 |
| Conference hall | Seating capacity of 200 |
| Classrooms | Theatre style, each with a smartboard and an LCD projector |
| Alfresco classrooms | Two open-air rooms named Bella Vista and River View |
| Sports | Separate gymnasiums for boys and girls, football and cricket ground, volleyball and basketball courts, jogging track, badminton court |
| Lifts or ramps | Filed for more than 80% of the buildings |
| Specially designed toilets | Filed for more than 80% of the buildings |
| Assistive support | Walking aids, wheelchairs and transport between buildings all recorded as available |
| Sources: the campus facilities page for the first six rows, and the NIRF 2025 return for the last three. |
Those last three rows come off a government form, not a walk round the estate, and the form never says which buildings. If you need step-free access, ask which rooms the PGDM is timetabled in before you accept a seat.
Set against those halls, the library is one room, and its strength is in subscriptions rather than shelves. RBS states a library area of 314.24 square metres with a seating capacity of 100, holding 6,433 volumes across 5,584 titles, 23 national and 10 international journals, 466 project reports, 5 online databases and 312 online journals. One hundred reader seats serve a roll of 510, so a full house is one in five students. The five databases are Emerald, J-Gate, CMIE Prowess IQ and Eikon, with QuillBot filed under a separate writing tools heading: two journal gateways, then Indian company financials from CMIE and market data from Eikon. Nothing on the list reaches outside business and management, and the finance-heavy half of it matches the largest faculty domain on the roster. The spend behind it moves a good deal year to year, at Rs 72,33,706 on books, journals and e-resources in 2023-24 and Rs 48,27,090 in 2024-25.
Hostel
Living on campus is the assumption here rather than an option. RBS describes the PGDM as fully residential across its two years, and its facilities page lists separate hostels for boys and girls with mess, television and study halls, all rooms networked with 24x7 internet connectivity.
The cost is the part that has not been refreshed. The only hostel charge RBS has published is on the same 2021 to 2023 fee sheet as the tuition, at Rs 85,000 in the first trimester and Rs 83,000 in the fourth. No room count, no occupancy split and no current mess rate appears anywhere on the site, so confirm all three with the admission office once an offer is in hand. Because residence is the default, this is not a line you can economise away by living out.
Faculty
The headcount here has been flat for two years and the people inside it have not been. RBS's most recent government submission lists 34 faculty members, three of them recorded as no longer working with the institution, having left in April and August 2025. The submission a year earlier also lists 34, with two departures. Line the two name lists up and four teachers on the older one are gone from the newer, replaced one for one. Ask at interview who is teaching your elective, not how many teachers there are. The public roster on the school's site is longer than either filing, so read that as the recruiting picture and the filings as the counted one.
Qualifications are close to uniform, and the seniority mix is not. In the latest filing, 33 of the 34 hold a Ph.D and the remaining member an MBA, while the designations run to one Professor, three Associate Professors, five entered under the Dean, Principal, Director or Vice Chancellor heading and 25 Assistant Professors. A doctorate is close to the entry ticket here; a senior chair is rare.
Where this faculty earns its money is the most striking thing in the file, and it is not research. Advisory work dominates: Rs 10,05,27,670 came in from 28 consultancy projects for 10 client organizations in 2024-25. Sponsored research managed Rs 1,21,30,008 across 10 projects the same year, and 19 executive and management development programmes drew 620 participants and Rs 1,24,98,343. Put the consultancy line beside the payroll, Rs 8,70,66,412 for all teaching and non-teaching staff, and the client work billed more in one year than the school paid everyone who works there. The jump is recent, too: the previous year's return counted 11 consultancy projects, so this is a line that has moved fast rather than a settled habit.
Set that beside a research and professional practice score of 19.26, the weakest number on the 2025 scorecard apart from perception, and the tension is worth naming rather than smoothing over. That NIRF parameter bundles publications and citations together with projects, professional practice and executive programmes, so the advisory income above sits inside it and the score still comes out low. An applicant drawn to RBS for exposure to live client work should therefore ask a direct question at interview: how much of that consultancy reaches student projects and classrooms. An applicant treating the school as a route into academic research has the harder case to make, because the doctoral pipeline runs to 12 full-time Ph.D scholars, none part-time, and none graduated in any of the three years reported.
Notable Alumni
RBS keeps no roll of distinguished graduates and no named-alumni honours page. The named alumni on its site are five PGDM graduates quoted on the placements page, from batches running 2011-13 to 2015-17, and two of those five carry the same job title and word-for-word the same testimonial as each other. That is prospectus copy rather than an alumni record, and the newest batch it quotes left in 2017.
The network becomes visible once a year instead. RBS runs a Rajagiri Alumni Homecoming, most recently dated 25 July 2026, which is the practical place to ask a graduate what the diploma has done for them rather than reading a testimonial written for the website.
News & Articles
The events page is the running record RBS keeps of itself, and it goes back to 2019 with something logged in every year since.
| Date | Event |
|---|---|
| 26 August 2026 | 2026 Taiwan India Innovative Business Pitch Competition |
| 21 August 2026 | Disciplinary Proceedings in Industries and Services |
| 25 July 2026 | Rajagiri Alumni Homecoming 2026 |
| 6 March 2026 | Rajagiri Cricket League, Season 5 |
| 13 February 2026 | 7th Rajagiri International Management Conference |
| 16 January 2026 | Inflore '26 |
| 15 September 2025 | MDP-Rx, a postgraduate certification programme for medical professionals |
The conference entries repay a second look, because they date the school's research push. The flagship was still the Rajagiri Management Conference in August 2024 and the 6th Rajagiri Management Conference in February 2025; the international name arrives only at the seventh edition. Everything else on the calendar that is not a student festival points the same way, toward paying outsiders: a certification programme for doctors, a two-day research workshop on qualitative research in behavioural sciences, a session on disciplinary proceedings in industry. That is the classroom-facing side of the consultancy and executive money in the filings above. Doctoral applications sit on the same calendar, with the FPM application last date at 30 September 2026.
Every item on that list is published by RBS on its own site, and it is worth knowing how that differs from the other record it keeps. The NIRF return is a form the school filed with the Ministry of Education and cannot quietly revise; the calendar is copy it can. Where an aggregator's figure for RBS conflicts with the return, take the return.
College Compare
Four institutions from Kerala appear in the NIRF 2025 management top 100, and RBS is the only private one. The other three are publicly funded and none of them is a standalone business school: an IIM, a state technical university and an NIT, each teaching management alongside or inside something larger.
| Rank | Institution | City | Overall | Teaching, Learning and Resources | Perception |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode | Kozhikode | 79.85 | 87.75 | 74.26 |
| 82 | Cochin University of Science and Technology | Cochin | 47.47 | 72.07 | 9.75 |
| 85 | National Institute of Technology Calicut | Kozhikode | 47.30 | 70.21 | 14.60 |
| 91 | Rajagiri Business School | Cochin | 46.62 | 70.58 | 9.36 |
Ignore the nine-place gap between CUSAT and RBS and read the scores instead. The three non-IIM entries finish within a point of each other on the overall column, which on a hundred-name table is noise rather than a hierarchy. RBS actually outscores NIT Calicut on teaching, learning and resources, at 70.58 against 70.21, and gives the position back on the other parameters. Perception is where the daylight is, with NIT Calicut at 14.60 and RBS at 9.36, and that gap is doing more work in the rank order than anything an applicant would notice on either campus.
Two of the four sit in Cochin, so the local shortlist is CUSAT and RBS, and they are unlike products: a state technical university's management school on public fees, and a fully residential self-financing diploma. IIM Kozhikode, 3rd on 79.85, is a different entry bar and a different conversation.

Getting there is easier than a Kakkanad address suggests. The campus sits 0.5 kilometres from the Seaport Airport Highway, 3 kilometres from the Kakkanad Civil Station, 13 kilometres from Ernakulam North Railway Station and 27 kilometres from Nedumbassery International Airport, and 2.6 kilometres from the Cochin Special Economic Zone.
One acreage figure travels under the Rajagiri name and does not belong to this campus. The RBS contact page describes Rajagiri Valley as a sprawling 95 acre estate on the banks of the Chithrapuzha, and that is the site the PGDM is taught on. The stunning 384-acre campus advertised on the RCBS front page belongs to the umbrella brand, which also covers the MBA and MA in HRM at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences on the separate Kalamassery campus. If a listing quotes the larger number for RBS, it has merged two addresses.
Verified
Approvals & Accreditation
Statutory approvals and accreditation grades from official bodies.
Three international accreditations sit on top of the Indian paperwork here, and it is the AICTE approval underneath them that makes the diploma legal to award.
| Body | What is held |
|---|---|
| AICTE | Extension of Approval for 2026-27, permanent identification number 1-4787341, institution type Private-Self Financing |
| Association of Indian Universities | The PGDM is granted equivalence to an MBA degree of an Indian university |
| AACSB | The school is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business |
| EFMD | The PGDM programme is accredited by the European Foundation for Management Development |
| ACBSP | The PGDM programme is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs |
| PRME | A signatory to PRME, described as a United Nations supported initiative on sustainability in schools |
| RRBM | Institutional partner of Responsible Research in Business and Management |
| NBA | The home page states the PGDM was accredited by the National Board of Accreditation upto June 30, 2025 |
| Sources: the AICTE Extension of Approval; the accreditations and rankings page for AACSB, EFMD and ACBSP; the RBS home page for PRME, RRBM and NBA; and the programmes page for the AIU equivalence. |
Two rows in that table need care. The ordinal RBS attaches to its AACSB accreditation is not stable across its own properties: the home page calls it the 21st B-School in India to earn the coveted AACSB accreditation while the RCBS page calls it the 20th. The accreditation itself is stated by both, so quote the accreditation and drop the ordinal. The NBA row matters more. The home page still shows the PGDM as accredited by the National Board of Accreditation upto June 30, 2025, a date that has passed, and the dedicated accreditations page lists AACSB, EFMD and ACBSP without mentioning NBA at all. Ask the admission office in writing for the current NBA position before you rely on it, because the two pages do not agree and the one that carries a date has expired.
Aid
Scholarships
Aid at RBS runs under one named umbrella and is awarded as a tuition waiver rather than a cash grant. The school calls the scheme Rajagiri Scholarship for Excellence, or RiSE, and it splits into two named awards on different qualifying routes, with a higher tier nested inside the second.
| Award | Who qualifies | Waiver |
|---|---|---|
| Diversity Scholarship | Non-Keralite applicants who have secured admission through the three phase selection process | 25% to 50% of tuition fee |
| Career and Talent Scholarship | Candidates scoring above 80 percentile in CAT 2025 | 25% to 50% of tuition fee |
| Director or Dean's Scholarship | Candidates at 95th percentile or higher in CAT 2025 | 75% tuition fee waiver, with preferential access to corporate events and specialised placement training |
The diversity award is the one worth flagging to applicants from outside the state, because it turns on domicile rather than on a test score, and the school's own filing shows why it exists: 394 of 510 students are from within Kerala and 83 from other Indian states. Apply from Maharashtra or Delhi and roughly one classmate in six will be in the same position as you, which is exactly the imbalance this waiver exists to buy against.
Who actually pays for a full tuition waiver here changed inside one admission cycle, and RBS files the count both ways.
| Full tuition fee reimbursement | 2025 filing | 2026 filing |
|---|---|---|
| From state and central government | 28 | 18 |
| From institution funds | 38 | 59 |
| From private bodies | 12 | 2 |
| Students receiving none | 30 | 26 |

Every column moves the same direction except one. Government reimbursements lost more than a third of their recipients in a year and private bodies almost disappeared, while the school's own funding grew by half and became the largest single source of aid on its own campus. Take that as a good sign about RBS and a poor one about the schemes: if a state scholarship is what makes your arithmetic work here, confirm it against your own state's current rules, because last year's column is not a forecast.

Student Reviews
No rating is attached to RBS on this page, and an average would hide the one split that decides what a student here actually experiences: which batch they are in. The cohort graduating in 2022-23 left with 117 of 150 placed and a median of Rs 4,50,000. The cohort two years behind them left with 201 of 215 placed and a median of Rs 7,50,000. Those are two different schools by outcome, two years apart, and anyone quoting an experience at RBS should be asked which batch they left with.
Composition is the second thing to check rather than assume. Women were a minority of the postgraduate roll in the 2025 filing at 227 of 484 and a majority in the 2026 one at 276 of 510, so the gender balance flipped inside a single admission cycle. The international presence stayed small at 33 students from outside the country despite the school's international accreditations. Ask a current student about both before you take a peer-group claim at face value.
Campus
Gallery
RBS publishes its own photographs of Rajagiri Valley and attaches no reuse licence to them, so the school's site is where to look at this campus. It keeps a general photo gallery, and its campus facilities page hangs a separate gallery on each part of the estate: the theatre-style classrooms, the library, the IT centre, the group learning centres, the halls, the cricket and football grounds and the courts, and the amphitheatre by the Chithrapuzha.
