Smt Kishoritai Bhoyar College Of Pharmacy, Kamptee

Nagpur, Maharashtra Est. 1997 Official site Updated
NIRF Pharmacy
#66

In 2023-24, 128 students finished the four-year B.Pharm here in the minimum time; 29 of them were placed and 97 went on to further study. That is not a placement cell that failed. It is a college whose bachelor's degree works as an entrance ticket to a master's. Its own higher-studies register runs session by session up to 2022-2023 and names where 60 of that year's leavers went, from NIPER campuses at Mohali, Hyderabad, Guwahati and Kolkata to the M.Pharm classrooms on this same campus. The master's cohort is where the salaries appear, and the two levels are best read as one plan.

Overview

Smt. Kishoritai Bhoyar College of Pharmacy sits on the Shri Yadavrao Bhoyar Educational Campus behind the railway station at New Kamptee, north of Nagpur city and near the Dragon Palace temple, in a location the All India Survey on Higher Education classifies as rural. Shri Sadashivrao Patil Shikshan Sanstha opened it in 1997-98, and it now runs a diploma, a bachelor's degree, six master's specialisations and a doctoral programme on a 20-acre site.

Its standing is the thing most listings get wrong. It is an autonomous institute, which the Maharashtra CET Cell records in its own paperwork: the 2024-25 allotment sheet for institute 04199 carries its status as Un-Aided, while the 2025-26 sheet for the same code reads Un-Aided Autonomous. Autonomy here governs the syllabus and the examinations rather than the award. Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University granted the college permanent affiliation for its B.Pharm, at an intake of 100, under section 116 of the Maharashtra Public Universities Act, by a letter dated 30 March 2021, and the university still awards the degree.

The government ranking places the college 66th in the pharmacy category for 2025, on an overall score of 46.46, the second of only two Nagpur entries on that list.

Courses & Fees

Two of the four programmes here are priced by Maharashtra's Fees Regulating Authority, the D.Pharm figure printed beside them is the college's own, and the doctorate is the one that publishes a seat count and no price at all.

ProgrammeDurationEntrance routeSanctioned seatsAnnual fee

M.Pharm, six specialisationsTwo yearsGPAT, CAP through the state CET Cell90Rs 1,71,500
Ph.D., Pharmaceutical Sciences by ResearchNot statedThe college's own Ph.D. admission notification78Not published

Those are the amounts for 2026-2027, and the college breaks them into a tuition and a development component and takes payment only by online transfer: the B.Pharm is 119130 plus 17870, the M.Pharm 149130 plus 22370, the D.Pharm 74636 plus 7837. Each degree can also be paid in halves, Rs 68,500 a semester for the B.Pharm and Rs 85,750 for the M.Pharm.

What the college does not say on that page is that the same two degree fees were lower for two consecutive years before this one. Maharashtra's Fees Regulating Authority carries the college as institute PH4199 and had marked both programmes No Upward Revision at a meeting on 20-06-2024, holding the B.Pharm at a total of 122500, being 106521 of tuition and 15979 of development fee, and the M.Pharm at 155000, being 134783 and 20217. The freeze ended at a meeting on 20-05-2026, when the authority approved 137000 for the B.Pharm and 171500 for the M.Pharm. Anyone who started here in 2024 or 2025 paid the frozen figure, so a fee quoted by a senior from their own first year is the wrong one for both degrees.

The diploma price is a different kind of number. Rs 82,473 appears on the college's fee page under the same heading as the two approved degree fees, but the fee authority's Nagpur report carries only one row against PH4199, the B.Pharm one, even though it does regulate other diploma institutions in the district. The Rs 82,473 therefore rests on the college's own publication. Get it confirmed in writing before paying.

Admissions

Eighty of the hundred B.Pharm places are allotted by the state. The remaining twenty are the college's own to fill, from a merit list it publishes itself, alongside whatever the counselling rounds leave behind.

For the bachelor's degree the college sets the bar at 50 per cent in Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics added together, 45 per cent for a backward-class candidate, on a 10+2 that also carried English, plus a non-zero MHT-CET score; it enters counselling as institute code 4199. Everything after eligibility belongs to the CET Cell, which carries the college's pharmacy course as choice code 0419982310.

The M.Pharm bar is 60 per cent in the B.Pharm, 55 per cent for a backward-class candidate, from an AICTE-approved institution affiliated to a UGC-approved university, plus a non-zero GPAT score. That last clause does the real work. Every state seat filled here in 2025-26 was allotted on a GPAT percentile, and the college enters that counselling six times over, once per specialisation, under codes of its own: 419999510 for Regulatory Affairs, 419982210 for Pharmaceutical Chemistry and four more beside them.

The diploma sits outside both. The Pharmacy Council's own decision letter names its affiliating body as the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, not Nagpur University, and approves 60 admissions to it, and it is filled through the Directorate of Technical Education's separate Post HSC Diploma in Pharmacy admission process, which runs on its own portal and its own calendar.

A D.Pharm holder does not have to start over. The college takes lateral entrants straight into the second year of the B.Pharm through the state's Direct Second Year process, at the same annual fee, and its ranking return records 8 such admissions in 2019-20, 22 in 2020-21 and 15 in 2021-22.

One clause in the college's own general instructions is worth reading before you accept a seat: the student will not ask for transfer from this institute to any other institute under any circumstances. Institute-level and against-vacancy admissions are settled on the premises, with a reporting time of 9.30 am, and a provisional and then a final merit list goes up for each of the three programmes every cycle.

Cutoff

One block on this sheet closed exactly where it opened, and it managed that while turning over at the top. Everything else slid, and the EWS block slid furthest of all.

Figures taken from what the state allotted under code 04199 in the first and last counselling round of that year.

The general open block hardly moved, from 93.5925292 to 93.2483017, because 16 of its 17 places were already held by students admitted in an earlier round and only the last was newly allotted. The ladies open block gave up four points over the same rounds, and the EWS block gave up more than twenty, sliding from 80.0915015 to 59.0974179. The five tuition-fee-waiver places closed at an identical 94.8518878 in both rounds even though the top of that block turned over between them, from 95.9765449 to 95.6904252. The sharpest entry on the sheet is not a reserved seat or a waiver seat: the highest scorer allotted here took a general open place at 98.6378388.

Something structural changed between the two cycles. The 2024-25 list for this college divided its Maharashtra seats into home-university and other-than-home-university blocks, so a Nagpur-zone candidate and a Pune-zone candidate were ranked on different lines; the 2025-26 list carries state-level seat types only. Cutoff advice built on the home-university figures at this college is a cycle out of date.

The master's cutoffs are published too, on the CET Cell's separate M.Pharm portal, and they come branch by branch rather than as one figure for the college. Six specialisations, six queues, six different closing percentiles in the same round:

Industrial Pharmacy1584.2963811
Pharmaceutical Chemistry1570.61844
Read off the CET Cell's M.Pharm CAP Round IV allotment list for institute 4199, 2025-26.

Regulatory Affairs at 92.4228925 and Pharmaceutical Chemistry at 70.61844 are further apart than any single seat type on the bachelor's sheet moved between Rounds I and IV, so the preference order a master's candidate submits matters more here than the college code does. The two branches at the bottom of that column are also the two the college keeps least of: Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Industrial Pharmacy carry one institute-level seat each, against three for the other four.

The first round was laid out differently again. The CET Cell then listed each specialisation twice, as an 11-seat block and a 4-seat sponsored block; across all six branches only one candidate took a sponsored place, at a GPAT percentile of 68.2015447, and every other sponsored line on that sheet reads Vacant. By the final round the sponsored blocks are gone and each branch appears once, at 15.

Placements

Two cohorts, filed on the same form in the same year, came out of this college pointing in opposite directions.

2023-24 batchGraduated in minimum timePlacedMedian salaryWent to higher study
B.Pharm, four years12829Rs 4,55,00097
M.Pharm, two years7968Rs 4,90,00010

The undergraduate ratio holds across all three years the filing covers, so it describes a pattern and not one weak batch: 10 placed and 60 to higher study out of 70 finishers in 2021-22, 25 and 87 out of 115 in 2022-23, then 29 and 97 out of 128. The master's cohort inverts it and pays better, at 68 of 79 placed on a median of 490000 against 455000 at the bachelor's level.

The college's own higher-studies register stops at session 2022-2023, but for the sessions it does cover it turns those counts into named destinations, one student at a time, which is unusual enough to be worth opening before deciding what a B.Pharm from Kamptee is for. Its graduates went to NIPER campuses at Mohali, Hyderabad, Guwahati, Kolkata, Ahmedabad and Raebareli, to BITS Pilani, the Institute of Chemical Technology in Mumbai, NMIMS, Poona College of Pharmacy, AISSMS, R. C. Patel at Shirpur, JSS Mysuru and the government pharmacy college at Amravati, and a large number simply stayed at Kamptee for the M.Pharm. A visible minority left pharmacy for management, to SIES School of Business Studies in Mumbai, the Datta Meghe Institute of Management Studies in Nagpur and the Welingkar Institute of Management and Research in Mumbai.

The college does count its placements, in the same file as the higher-studies register, and the count does not match the ranking return. That file names ten placed leavers for 2022-2023, to Evestin Healthcare in Nagpur, Cognizant in Pune, Win-Medicare in New Delhi, Mankind Pharma in Navi Mumbai, Lupin in Nagpur and ElanPharma in Mumbai, against the 25 the same year's ranking return reports. Its campus placement page logs Macleods Pharmaceuticals on 13.03.2024, Endo Par Pharmaceuticals on 23.08.2023, BDR Pharmaceuticals at Halol on 04.07.2023, Aurobindo at Hyderabad on 18.2.2020, Lupin at Nagpur on 8.9.2019 and Alembic Pharma at Vadodara on 30.1.2019, and keeps separate sections for Alkem, Lupin, Mylan and Sun Pharma. No highest package is published for any year, on that page or in the ranking return, so treat any top-package figure you find for this college elsewhere as unsourced.

Seat Matrix

The bachelor's hundred is divided three ways before anyone applies, and a fifth of it never enters state counselling at all.

B.Pharm seat blockSeats
Maharashtra state seats through CAP65
All India seats through CAP15
Institute-level seats20
Minority seats0
EWS block, separately sanctioned10
Tuition fee waiver block, separately sanctioned5
The block sizes are printed at the head of code 04199's final-round sheet for 2025-26.

The 20 institute-level places are filled from the college's own merit list against seats left vacant after the counselling rounds, and that list shows how far down the score range they reach. It ran from 89.2346044 at the head of its state-merit block down to 51.2464223, with several candidates admitted on a NEET score instead and one out-of-state, non-CAP entry sitting above the block at 92.4619674. The two queues are not comparable: that list reached 51.2464223 in the same year the state's own open seat stopped at 93.2483017, so an applicant short of the counselling cutoff should be watching this college's merit-list notice rather than the allotment portal.

On the postgraduate side, six specialisations of 15 seats each make the 90 the ranking return records as the sanctioned postgraduate intake. A seventh, Pharmaceutical Technology, appears on the college's own M.Pharm page marked proposed, which is why the total printed there is 105 rather than the number of seats actually on offer.

The distance between the two Nagpur entries sits almost entirely in two columns. On teaching resources, graduation outcomes and outreach the college is ahead of the university that affiliates it; on research and professional practice it scores barely a third as much, and on perception a little over two thirds. Research is the lever, and the latest year is the best of three rather than the top of a straight climb: sponsored receipts of 4393749 against 1015000 the year before and 2464594 the year before that, and consultancy income of 2948070 from 41 client organisations, spread across 16 projects where the two previous years ran 22 and 24. The doctoral register is the steadier signal, growing from 17 full-time students in the earlier return to 39.

One placing the ranking table does not carry is the college's own: its home page news feed reports 3rd rank in India and 1st in Maharashtra, with an A grade, in the Quality Council of India ranking 2026 for pharmacy institutions. We could find no QCI score sheet to check that against, so it stands as the college's claim rather than as a verified figure.

Departments

Seven departments carry the teaching: Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry, Quality Assurance, Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs, and Allied Subjects. Five of the seven carry a master's branch, and the first of those five carries two, because Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy is one department feeding two separate specialisations with a head of department each. Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry and Allied Subjects have staff and no branch of their own, so a candidate who wants a pharmacognosy master's has to look elsewhere in the state.

Facilities & Infrastructure

The campus covers 20 acres with about sixty thousand square feet of built area, and the college is specific about what is inside it. The postgraduate research laboratories hold HPLC, FTIR and UV spectrophotometers, a differential scanning calorimeter, a Motic microscope, a plethysmometer, an auto analyser, tablet machines and 12 and 14 station dissolution apparatus. There is also a pilot plant, a drug museum, a medicinal plants garden and an e-studio built for recording lectures and broadcasting webinars on the college's own YouTube channel.

Its animal house is documented in more detail than most college sites bother with: it runs under CPCSEA guidelines and an Institutional Animal Ethical Committee, with separate mice and rat colony chambers, a quarantine room, a feed section and an incinerator for biological waste, which is the standing a pharmacology department needs before it can run in-vivo work at all. The library holds more than 17,800 books alongside a digital section and subscribed e-journals, and every postgraduate department keeps a collection of its own. Wheelchair access is answered on the same form as the finances: lifts or ramps, and specially designed toilets, are each recorded as reaching more than 80% of the buildings on this campus.

Hostel

There are separate boys' and girls' hostels on the campus, furnished with cupboards, chairs and tables, and served by a canteen, television, solar water heaters and water coolers. What neither that page nor the college's fee schedule carries is the capacity of either hostel, the annual charge, or the rule by which places are allotted when demand exceeds supply. That gap costs more here than at a city college, because the 15 all-India places in the 2025-26 counselling matrix bring candidates to New Kamptee from outside the state with nothing published to budget against. Settle the rent and the allotment rule with the admission office before accepting a seat, and ask at the same time about the SKB Girls Hostel Scheme and the Anurag Boys Hostel Scheme, which the college runs as a concession on the hostel fee for one academic year.

Faculty

The ranking return records 61 faculty members, and the college's own faculty list publishes a biodata document for each of them, department by department, with qualification and designation. Dr. M. J. Umekar is Principal and Professor, and the roster carries four deans, for Academics, for Examination and Evaluation, for Student Welfare and for Research and Development. The second of those follows from the college setting and marking its own papers.

Pay is the largest line in what the college reports spending, and it has climbed steadily, from 37366705 to 45627478 to 52146418 across the three years the filing covers. Against that, new laboratory equipment took 2366768 in the latest year and the library 1694925, both slightly below the year before, so the instrument list described above is being maintained out of a steady annual line rather than expanded quickly.

Notable Alumni

The college publishes an Alumni Speaks roster naming graduates and their current roles, and that is the only sourced alumni record it offers. Regulatory affairs is the thread running through it: the roster names Punam Tajne as a manager for global regulatory affairs at Pfizer Health Care India, Abhishek Shivalkar as an AGM for regulatory affairs at BEC Chemicals, Umesh Ingole as a senior manager for US regulatory affairs at Endo Par Formulations and Navin Harpalani as a regulatory affairs manager at Lupin. Around them sit Dr. Anumeha Muthal, a senior scientist at Gilead Sciences in California, Rakesh Chandiramani, an associate director at AstraZeneca, Robin Jain Tadaiya, an assistant general manager at Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Nilesh Jawalkar, a senior scientist at Alkem Laboratories in Navi Mumbai, Nikita Naidu, a pharmacovigilance associate at Primevigilance, and Dr. M. G. Maniyar, principal of SVERI's College of Pharmacy at Pandharpur. Retail and hospital pharmacy barely appear on it, which is consistent with what the six master's branches taught here are built to produce.

News & Articles

The college runs a dated news feed on its home page, which is where its QCI placing, its PCI faculty development programme, its junior research fellowship advertisements and its Ph.D. admission notification appear. The two entries that change what an applicant does are elsewhere: provisional and final merit lists for all three programmes go up on the admission notices page during the cycle, and next year's fee is settled by the Fees Regulating Authority in the season before it.

College Compare

This college sits fifth by fee among the 24 institutions on the state regulator's Nagpur pharmacy report and second of the six on its M.Pharm list, and the second placing matters more here, because employment at Kamptee is a master's-level outcome.

Every amount above is what the state regulator settled for that college for 2026-27, read off its Nagpur district pharmacy report.

Four institutions on that report are approved for more and nineteen for less, but only part of the list is a like-for-like comparison: the regulator files degree colleges and diploma institutions in the same stream, and PH4263, PH4270 and PH4272 are named on it as D.Pharm institutes. The master's list is much shorter, and this college is near the top of it.

What separates this college from the other twenty-three is not the price. It is the only college on the whole Nagpur report that also holds a place in the 2025 pharmacy ranking. The Nagpur University entry ranked above it is not on that fee list at all, so the two are not comparable on price.

Approvals & Accreditation

Statutory approvals and accreditation grades from official bodies.

official-report

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council first accredited the college at grade A with a CGPA of 3.19, covering 2018 to 2023, and its second cycle lifted that to grade A+ with a score of 3.44. The National Board of Accreditation accredited the undergraduate pharmacy programme in two consecutive blocks, the second running to 2025, and the college publishes no letter covering a later session, so ask where the renewal stands rather than assuming the programme is accredited today.

Approval and recognition come from four more bodies. The college is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India and AICTE, and recognised by the Directorate of Technical Education in Mumbai, by the University Grants Commission and by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education. The UGC line is narrower than it sounds: the letter behind it puts the college on the list prepared under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, under the head of non-government colleges teaching up to master's degree, and describes it as still only temporarily affiliated to Nagpur University, which is where it stood before the 2021 permanent affiliation. The college also describes itself as a UGC-approved research centre and runs a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences on this campus; it publishes no recognition letter for that centre, so ask which body issued it and when it runs out.

Scholarships

Beyond the five state tuition-fee-waiver places in the counselling matrix, the college's scholarships page is mostly a routing table for the state's post-matric schemes, and the routing is the part applicants get wrong. Scheduled Tribe candidates apply to the Tribal Development Department, Scheduled Caste candidates to the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department, and OBC, VJNT and SBC candidates to the VJNT, OBC and SBC Welfare Department; above each income line the same student applies for the freeship version, which covers tuition and examination fees rather than maintenance. An open-category student is not shut out: the same page routes an EBC applicant with a household income up to 2.5 Lakh to the Directorate of Technical Education under the Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj scheme, and a hostel resident up to 8.0 Lakh to the Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh maintenance allowance, which is the row worth knowing given that this campus publishes no hostel charge.

The reach is wider than the counselling matrix suggests. State and central government funds covered the whole tuition of 116 undergraduates and 66 postgraduates here in the latest year the ranking return covers, the college's own funds a further 25 and 12, and private bodies 10 and 3, against a bachelor's roll of 500 and a master's roll of 174. Those awards are named and priced on a page of their own.

The last two are the visible half of the 10 undergraduates and 3 postgraduates whose tuition private bodies covered, and both come from Nagpur companies whose names also appear in the college's own placement register. The tests are published, but in a policy document linked from the institutional scholarship page rather than on the page itself, and two of them cut in opposite directions. The SKB Merit Award goes to whoever takes the highest marks in the RTM Nagpur University B.Pharm and M.Pharm examinations, and the document adds that the winner must have passed every previous examination at the first attempt, in its assigned session and without grace, on attendance of not less than 75 per cent, which puts it out of reach of anyone who has sat a paper twice. The Late Smt. Shantabai Patil Scholarship is the wide one: the same document opens it to merit students, orphans, students from families hit by COVID or a natural disaster, Divyang students, students with specified diseases, defence students and students admitted from another state or a union territory, scrutinised on marks plus the documents for whichever of those categories is claimed.

Student Reviews

No verified review set exists for this college, and an average would be close to meaningless across the split described above: a candidate allotted through counselling at 93.2483017 and one admitted from the institute list at 51.2464223 sit in the same lecture hall on the same approved fee. The nearest thing to a review the college itself publishes is the Alumni Speaks panel on its home page, which is a selection it controls.
