Delhi Technological University
A general candidate schooled inside Delhi took a computer science seat at Delhi Technological University this year at all India rank 14806. A general candidate schooled anywhere else needed 7060 for the same classroom, on the fourth round list of Joint Admission Counselling Delhi.
Two queues, one campus, and the certificate in your file decides which one you stand in. Both closing ranks for all eighteen B.Tech branches, the full four-year fee ladder, the carve-up of the 2750 sanctioned seats and DTU's own branch-by-branch placement sheet are set out below.
Overview
DTU is a state public university owned by the Government of NCT of Delhi, and it is a reconstitution rather than a rebranding. From July 2009 the Delhi College of Engineering became Delhi Technological University under Delhi Act 6 of 2009, on the university's history page. Before that date DCE was a government college affiliated to the University of Delhi for its degrees; after it, the same institution awards its own, as a non-affiliating teaching and research university with no colleges under it, per the JAC Delhi 2026 admission brochure.
The lineage runs back further than either name. The institution opened in 1941 as Delhi Polytechnic at the Kashmere Gate campus, set up as a follow-up to the Wood and Abott Committee of 1938, and it was affiliated with the University of Delhi in 1952 when it began formal degree programmes, on the history page. Administrative control sat with the Ministry of Education until 1962 and passed to the Delhi Administration in 1963.
What left the campus matters as much as what stayed. The department of architecture became the School of Planning and Architecture, the arts and sculpture department became the College of Arts, and the chemical technology and textile technology departments were moved out to begin IIT Delhi at Hauz Khas, while the abolition of the commerce department was followed by the founding of the Faculty of Management Studies at Delhi University, all recorded on that same page. DTU therefore shares an ancestor with IIT Delhi rather than being a version of it.
The campus moved too. DCE worked out of Kashmere Gate for almost 55 years and shifted in 1996 to Bawana Road, adjoining Sector 17 of Rohini, on the history page. Three campuses run today: the main campus at Shahbad Daulatpur covering 163.87 acres, an East Delhi campus of 2.02 acres teaching economics, BBA and MBA programmes, and a newly allotted Narela campus of 47.46 acres, per the JAC Delhi brochure.
Four Delhi institutions get mixed up with this one and none of them is it. IIT Delhi is a central Institute of National Importance admitting on JEE Advanced. Netaji Subhas University of Technology and IIIT-Delhi are separate Delhi government institutions that happen to share DTU's counselling. Jamia Millia Islamia is a central university and sits outside Delhi's joint counselling entirely. DCE, on the other hand, is this university under its pre-2009 name.

Courses & Fees
Eighteen B.Tech branches go into Delhi counselling, and the intake behind each one is published before choice filling rather than after allotment. The JAC Delhi 2026 brochure carries the branch codes and the sanctioned count for every programme.

The bill is notified one year at a time and it climbs in each of them, so the number quoted on listing sites as the DTU fee is only the first of four. Year one comes to Rs 2,69,700 and year four to Rs 3,22,000, in the fee chapter of the brochure.
| Academic year | B.Tech fee |
|---|---|
| Year 1, total | Rs 2,69,700 |
| Year 2 | Rs 2,86,700 |
| Year 3 | Rs 3,06,700 |
| Year 4 | Rs 3,22,000 |
Year one is collected by two different bodies, which is why the figure a student remembers paying is rarely the whole of it. The counselling system takes Rs 95,000 as a seat acceptance fee during online reporting; the balance of Rs 1,74,700 goes to DTU itself later, on a schedule the university notifies on its own website rather than in the brochure, per the same chapter. Hostel and mess charges are quoted separately again and sit inside neither figure.
Engineering is a minority of the catalogue by programme count. The university runs 25 postgraduate engineering programmes, 11 M.Tech by Research, 5 MBA programmes, 3 M.Des, 5 M.Sc, 5 integrated B.Sc to M.Sc programmes and an M.A. in Economics, alongside undergraduate degrees in design, management and economics, and 28 doctoral programmes, on the brochure's programme list. A B.Tech student can also carry a minor from a set of 44 owned by named departments, so a civil engineering student can take machine learning or photonics without changing branch.
One route in the catalogue is built for people already working, and it is priced differently. The B.Tech programme under Continuing Education runs four years of evening classes from 6.00 pm to 9.00 pm six days a week, in civil, electrical, electronics and communication, and mechanical engineering, with 60 seats each and an intake of 240, per DTU's continuing education brochure. Tuition runs Rs 1,00,000 a year for three years and Rs 1,07,000 in the fourth, but the sum that has to reach the Registrar as one demand draft on admission day is the whole first-year bill of Rs 1,56,700, and there is no instalment option behind it.
International applicants pay in dollars on a separate schedule. Undergraduate tuition for 2026-27 is US$ 4000 for students from developing countries and US$ 8000 for the rest, with a further non-government component of US$ 1192, on the international admission brochure.
Admissions
JoSAA has nothing to do with getting into DTU. The university's regular undergraduate intake is filled by Delhi's own joint counselling, and the B.Tech entry on the admission menu of dtu.ac.in opens the JAC portal rather than a form of DTU's own. Ranking runs off the JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 Common Rank List, and where two candidates still tie after the National Testing Agency's own tie-breakers, the elder one goes ahead, with a random draw only if that fails too, per the JAC Delhi 2026 brochure.
Which of the two seat pools you compete in turns on a document, not a postcode. The brochure earmarks 85 per cent of every participating institution's seats for candidates whose qualifying examination came from a recognised school, college or institute sited inside the National Capital Territory, and the remaining 15 per cent for everyone whose did not. A family living in Rohini whose child finished class XII at a Ghaziabad school therefore lands in the outside Delhi pool. One exception is written in for candidates who never sat inside a conventional school: anyone who cleared class XII through Patrachar Vidyalaya or the National Institute of Open Schooling is placed by the address of the examination centre they wrote in, not by the institution that enrolled them.
The marks bar sits alongside the rank. A candidate needs 60 per cent or more in the aggregate of physics, chemistry and mathematics, must have passed English as a subject and must have passed every other subject separately, per the eligibility chapter. That bar drops to 55 per cent for OBC non-creamy-layer and defence sub-category candidates and 50 per cent for SC, ST and persons with disabilities, with no relaxation at all for EWS candidates, and there is no minimum or maximum age. A 2026 candidate placed in compartment is not eligible this year.
Money changes hands before DTU ever sees the file. Whenever a candidate is allotted a seat for the first time, in any round, Rs 95,000 falls due as a seat acceptance fee, payable by card or net banking from the counselling login or as cash against an e-challan at a State Bank of India counter. Skipping it does not simply lose that allotment: the brochure removes the candidate from the later rounds entirely. Pull out on or before the published withdrawal date and Rs 1,000 is deducted before the rest comes back; pull out afterwards and the whole amount is forfeited.
The cycle does not end with the online rounds. DTU ran its own special spot round on 24 and 25 August 2026 in the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Auditorium on campus, open only to candidates who had qualified JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 and already registered with JAC, with no fresh registration allowed, per the special spot round notice. Anyone attending had to carry a demand draft for Rs 2,69,700 in favour of Registrar DTU on the day, because a seat offered there is paid for in full on the spot or passed to the next candidate on merit.
Three doors into DTU sidestep the Common Rank List queue, and all three are narrow. Lateral entry admits diploma holders directly into the second year through a common entrance examination run jointly with NSUT, and DTU listed just 17 tentative seats across ten branches for 2026-27, needing a three-year regular diploma in engineering with 60 per cent marks, in the lateral entry brochure. Working diploma holders can instead take one of the 240 evening places in the continuing education programme, per its admission brochure. Foreign nationals, overseas citizens and Indian nationals schooled abroad compete for supernumerary seats worth 15 per cent of intake, split across the national DASA scheme, the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and DTU's own international office and totalling 394 B.Tech places, most of them decided on qualifying scores rather than a JEE Main rank, on the international brochure.
Cutoff
DTU issues one closing-rank sheet per round, and the sheet for Round 4, allotted on 14 July 2026, is the last of the four regular rounds; only a spot round came after it. Every rank on it is a JEE Main all India overall rank. Both columns below carry the general category with no sub-category attached, one per region, because that is the pair a candidate with nothing to claim beyond a school address is actually competing in, from the Round 4 category cutoff sheet.
| Branch | Closing rank, Delhi region | Closing rank, outside Delhi |
|---|---|---|
| Computer Science and Engineering | 14806 | 7060 |
| Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science and Analytics) | 16291 | 7148 |
| Information Technology | 20595 | 9283 |
| Software Engineering | 26336 | 10748 |
| Information Technology (Cyber Security) | 26382 | 9808 |
| Mathematics and Computing | 28082 | 10285 |
| Electronics and Communication Engineering | 30467 | 10928 |
| Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design and Technology) | 33512 | 12043 |
| Electrical Engineering | 44534 | 14522 |
| Mechanical Engineering | 57589 | 17230 |
| Mechanical and Automation Engineering | 59598 | 16327 |
| Engineering Physics | 62903 | 17602 |
| Mechanical Engineering with Specialization in Automotive Engineering | 63556 | 16843 |
| Chemical Engineering | 74005 | 18609 |
| Production and Industrial Engineering | 75754 | 21794 |
| Civil Engineering | 81143 | 24949 |
| Environmental Engineering | 87645 | 23510 |
| Bio-Technology | 88822 | 25303 |
The gap between the columns is the whole story of admission here, and it widens as the branches get easier. Computer science closed at 14806 for a Delhi region candidate and 7060 for one from outside, roughly a factor of two; by bio-technology the pair is 88822 and 25303, closer to a factor of three and a half, on the same list. An outside Delhi candidate reading the popular DTU cutoff figure is almost certainly reading the Delhi one.
Branch order also differs between the two queues, which matters when you fill preferences. In the Delhi pool software engineering closed at 26336 and information technology with cyber security at 26382, effectively level; in the outside Delhi pool the same two sat at 10748 and 9808, with cyber security clearly the tighter of the pair, in the Round 4 list. Mechanical and automation engineering behaves the same way, closing later than plain mechanical engineering in the Delhi queue at 59598 and earlier in the outside queue at 16327.
Two small queues sit outside both columns and neither is widely known. The Single Girl Child seat, which exists over and above the sanctioned intake, closed at 21300 in computer science, and the single Kashmiri Migrant seat at 38722 in the same branch, per that list. Since the general Delhi queue for computer science had already shut at 14806, an eligible candidate ranked anywhere between the two figures got the branch through a door the general list had closed.
Read every figure above as a photograph of one allotment rather than a threshold. Which branches were still short six weeks afterwards says more about where the pressure is not: when DTU advertised its special spot round in late August, the general Delhi region vacancies were 11 in environmental engineering, 9 in bio-technology and 8 in civil engineering, and there was not a single one in computer science, information technology, software engineering, electronics or mechanical engineering.
Placements
Start with the median rather than the headline, because the median is the one DTU placement figure filed under signature with the Ministry of Education and the only one that describes the graduate standing in the middle of the batch. DTU's engineering data return for India Rankings 2025 carries it for three graduating years running.
| Graduating year, UG 4-year | Graduating | Placed | Median salary | To higher studies |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2021-22 | 2131 | 1880 | Rs 13,00,000 | 251 |
| 2022-23 | 2220 | 1965 | Rs 14,10,000 | 255 |
| 2023-24 | 2412 | 1759 | Rs 13,25,000 | 653 |
The 2023-24 row is the one to sit with. Placements fell from 1965 to 1759 on a larger graduating cohort, while students going to higher studies rose from 255 to 653, in that same filing. Whether that is a weaker hiring year or a batch choosing postgraduate study is not something the filing settles, and neither reading should be presented as the fact.
DTU also publishes its own sheet for each B.Tech branch, and it shows two things the median cannot: how many students in a branch even entered the process, and how far the top offer sat from the average.
| Branch, 2024-25 batch | Offers | Registered for placement | Average CTC | Highest CTC |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Computer Engineering | 371 | 496 | Rs 19.85 lakh | Rs 64 lakh |
| Software Engineering | 135 | 193 | Rs 18.46 lakh | Rs 85 lakh |
| Information Technology | 146 | 189 | Rs 16.62 lakh | Rs 56 lakh |
| Electronics and Communication Engineering | 144 | 239 | Rs 15.82 lakh | Rs 48 lakh |
| Mathematics and Computing | 107 | 183 | Rs 15.22 lakh | Rs 48 lakh |
| Electrical Engineering | 153 | 285 | Rs 12.89 lakh | Rs 45 lakh |
| Engineering Physics | 54 | 111 | Rs 11.44 lakh | Rs 31 lakh |
| Biotechnology Engineering | 13 | 46 | Rs 11 lakh | Rs 31 lakh |
| Environmental Engineering | 23 | 64 | Rs 10.96 lakh | Rs 31 lakh |
| Chemical Engineering | 30 | 73 | Rs 9.97 lakh | Rs 21 lakh |
| Production and Industrial Engineering | 30 | 67 | Rs 9.65 lakh | Rs 20.85 lakh |
| Mechanical Engineering | 178 | 285 | Rs 9.58 lakh | Rs 31 lakh |
| Civil Engineering | 68 | 142 | Rs 9.20 lakh | Rs 20.31 lakh |
| Automotive Engineering | 34 | 69 | Rs 9.10 lakh | Rs 22 lakh |
Registration is the column most students skip and it changes the picture. Computer engineering turned 496 registrations into 371 offers and mechanical engineering turned 285 into 178, so the counts are not comparable to a placement percentage anyone quotes, in the 2024-25 sheet. Bio-technology had only 46 students in the process at all.
Averages here also run well ahead of the government median, and the reason is visible in the last column. Software engineering averaged Rs 18.46 lakh against a highest offer of Rs 85 lakh in the 2024-25 sheet, and the year before, computer engineering, mathematics and computing and electronics all recorded a Rs 85.3 lakh top offer in the 2023-24 sheet. A handful of offers that size lift an average and leave a median where it was. The JAC Delhi brochure quotes a B.Tech average package of Rs 15.04 lakh, a highest domestic package of 85 LPA and more than 374 companies visiting in the last academic year, without naming which year that was, which is why none of it replaces the dated rows above.
Postgraduate outcomes are a separate and thinner market, and the M.Tech cohort has been shrinking inside it. DTU put 300 M.Tech students through 2022-23 and placed 246 of them; a year later 213 graduated and 171 were placed, with the median holding at Rs 13,00,000 across both years, in the engineering data return. Widen the frame to every two-year postgraduate programme the university runs and the state public university return counts 664 graduating in 2023-24, 565 placed, median Rs 11,00,000. Its three-year undergraduate degrees answer to a market that resembles neither: 305 graduated, 83 were placed, the median was Rs 6,00,000, and 222 went on to study further.
Seat Matrix
Delhi's 85 and 15 rule is applied branch by branch, not once across the university total, so no branch offers an outside Delhi candidate better odds than any other. The JAC Delhi 2026 brochure files 778 general Delhi region seats carrying no sub-category across the eighteen B.Tech programmes, and 137 general outside Delhi ones. Computer science shows the effect at its sharpest: of its 462 places, 131 wear the general Delhi region label and 24 the general outside Delhi one, which is why that branch's two closing ranks sit as far apart as they do.
| Category and region | Seats across all B.Tech branches |
|---|---|
| General, Delhi region | 778 |
| Other Backward Classes, Delhi region | 517 |
| Scheduled Caste, Delhi region | 286 |
| Economically Weaker Section, Delhi region | 189 |
| Scheduled Tribe, Delhi region | 143 |
| General, Delhi region, Girl Child | 86 |
| General, outside Delhi | 137 |
| Other Backward Classes, outside Delhi | 91 |
| Scheduled Caste, outside Delhi | 51 |
| Economically Weaker Section, outside Delhi | 33 |
| Scheduled Tribe, outside Delhi | 25 |
| Total sanctioned intake | 2750 |
| Single Girl Child, over and above intake | 18 |
| Kashmiri Migrant, over and above intake | 1 |
The Single Girl Child seat is worth pausing on because Delhi counselling does not create it everywhere. It is one supernumerary place in each of the eighteen branches, 18 in total, sitting above the sanctioned intake rather than inside it, in that matrix. Adding it and the single Kashmiri Migrant place brings the grand total DTU offers through JAC to 2769.
Two official counts of the same undergraduate year do not agree, and neither is wrong. The counselling matrix files 2750 sanctioned places, while DTU's NIRF 2025 engineering submission reports an approved four-year undergraduate intake of 2529 held steady across four academic years. The filing describes an earlier year and the brochure describes the seats you can actually be allotted this cycle.
One pair of numbers looks like a contradiction and is not. More of DTU's undergraduates come from outside Delhi than from inside it: the engineering data return breaks its 10431 four-year undergraduates into 4923 within state and 5031 outside state, plus 477 who came from outside the country altogether. Set 5031 against a matrix that reserves only 15 per cent of seats for outside Delhi and the arithmetic looks impossible. It resolves once you see that the two forms ask different questions: NIRF asks where a student comes from, JAC asks which school signed the class XII certificate, per the region rule. A student whose family lives in Patna but who finished school in Delhi counts as outside state to one and Delhi region to the other.
Rankings
DTU appears in four separate India Rankings 2025 tables, and its position across them runs from 13 to 62. The engineering table is the one most applicants know, but the state public university table is where the university ranks highest, because there it is measured against state institutions rather than against the IITs.
| NIRF 2025 table | Rank | Score |
|---|---|---|
| State Public University | 13 | 63.50 |
| Engineering | 30 | 60.85 |
| University | 42 | 54.88 |
| Overall | 62 | 53.74 |
Break the engineering total into its five parameters and DTU's shape stops being ambiguous. Graduation outcomes carry it at 79.17, with teaching, learning and resources close behind at 73.01, while research and professional practice sits at 46.71 and perception lowest of all at 36.25; outreach and inclusivity lands between them at 54.82, in the engineering table. That is the profile of a place that teaches well and places well and does research alongside, rather than the other way round, which is exactly the order to reverse if you are weighing DTU for a doctorate instead of a B.Tech.
Something instructive happens between the university and overall tables. Both are scored from the same submission and share four sub-scores exactly, 64.13 on teaching, 41.43 on research, 71.27 on graduation outcomes and 56.21 on outreach, in the university and overall tables. Only perception differs, at 33.40 against 22.00, and that one parameter is what stands between rank 42 and rank 62. Reputation, rather than anything the university does differently, separates its two weakest results.
Beyond NIRF the university lists recognitions it has collected elsewhere, and they are its own claim rather than a government measure. The JAC Delhi brochure records DTU in the 251 to 300 band of the Times Higher Education Asia University Ranking for 2025 and the 801 to 1000 band of its World University Ranking for 2026, and notes 26 faculty members in the 2025 Stanford world ranking of the top 2 per cent most influential scientists.
Departments
Facilities & Infrastructure
The main campus is a large, self-contained site rather than an urban block, at 163.87 acres holding 16 academic departments, research centres and residences, with more than 14,000 students across its undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes, per the JAC Delhi brochure.
Computing is the area the university has invested in most visibly. The computer centre runs more than 240 Intel core i5 systems and over 15 server engines, and the campus sits on a round-the-clock 10 Gbps National Knowledge Network leased line with a 1 Gbps backup on a separate pipe, in the same brochure. Its named resources include MATLAB, ANSYS, a 50 TB network storage device and Param Vidya DTU, a machine under the National Supercomputing Mission with four compute nodes, two of them GPU accelerated.
The library is a four-storied, centrally air conditioned building seating 550 readers, with a collection of more than 2,30,508 print and reference books alongside e-journals and digitised manuscripts, and a cloud-based remote access facility and a similarity checking service for researchers, per the brochure. Sport gets space that a city campus rarely affords: a 4 by 400 metre racing track, football and hockey fields, a cricket pitch, courts for volleyball, basketball, tennis and badminton, and a gymnasium in the sports complex as well as one in every hostel.
Hostel capacity is where DTU's two published accounts diverge, and an applicant planning on a room should notice it. The JAC Delhi brochure states 10 boys' and 4 girls' hostels accommodating 1875 boys and 850 girls, while DTU's own hostel office site describes 13 hostels housing around 2500 students and then names 10 boys' and 4 girls' hostels in its own list. Mess services run in six of the hostels rather than all of them, on that site, and the newest women's blocks and the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam hostel are air conditioned.
Incubation runs in house through the DTU Innovation and Incubation Foundation, incorporated under the Companies Act, which offers space, computing and shared tooling and had 57 active start-ups working in it, per the brochure. The campus health centre runs OPD services in medicine, ophthalmology, dentistry and physiotherapy with round-the-clock nursing. ENGIFEST is the annual cultural festival and INVICTUS the technical one.
Getting there is a metro question with a last-mile gap. The main campus is reached from Rithala on the Red Line or Samaypur Badli on the Yellow Line, with bus routes 106A, 116, 116A, 165, 879, 879B, 889 and 988 passing it, in the brochure's connectivity note.
Hostel
Faculty
Two DTU faculty counts for the same year sit in the public record, and quoting the wrong one will mislead you about how thinly the teaching is spread. Counted against the engineering programmes alone, the engineering data return enters 878 faculty; counted across the whole institution, the state public university return enters 1033. Nobody was hired in between. The larger figure takes in Delhi School of Management, the design and humanities departments and the applied science departments, and the engineering form has no box to put them in.
Doctoral work at DTU is large, and an unusual share of it is done part time. Up to 2023-24 the state public university return had 773 full-time doctoral students on the rolls against 608 part-time, and awarded 141 doctorates full time and 71 part time in that year. Narrow the same question to engineering and the engineering data return shows 753 and 556 on the rolls, with 137 and 66 awarded. A part-time cohort that close in size to the full-time one is not the mix an applicant arriving from an IIT's Ph.D page will be expecting, and it changes who is sitting in a research group and when.
Externally funded research is modest against that headcount and it moves in the wrong direction. The engineering submission reports 15 sponsored projects worth Rs 5,43,93,604 in 2023-24, down from 15 worth Rs 7,99,47,708 the year before and 29 worth Rs 9,00,00,000 in 2021-22. Consultancy moved the other way across the same window and has already eased off its peak: 16 projects in 2021-22, 74 in 2022-23, then 48 worth Rs 10,58,74,704 in 2023-24 from 10 client organisations. Paid client work therefore brings in roughly twice what research grants do, which is not the balance a research-led department usually runs.
The university's own account of its output is more recent and less comparable. The JAC Delhi brochure reports a Scopus h-index of 149, 1,513 Scopus-indexed publications and 12 patents granted by the Indian Patent Office in the year it describes, alongside 7 sponsored research projects worth Rs 2.63 crore sanctioned and a Rs 3 crore project awarded by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, with support from SERB-DST, DRDO, ISRO and IIT Jodhpur among others. It names no year, so it sits beside the dated filings rather than updating them.

Approvals & Accreditation
Statutory approvals and accreditation grades from official bodies.
Institutional accreditation here improved between cycles and the record shows both points. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council first accredited DTU in 2019 at a cumulative grade point average of 3.22, and in 2025 awarded it an A+ grade at a CGPA of 3.47, per the JAC Delhi brochure. That second-cycle result is the current one.
Programme accreditation is a messier question, because the National Board of Accreditation accredits individual degrees rather than whole universities and every award it makes expires on a stated date. The JAC Delhi brochure says 6 undergraduate and 7 postgraduate programmes hold NBA accreditation at present, and it names none of them. With eighteen B.Tech branches on offer, most of them fall outside that count however it is read, and a lapsed award and an award never made look identical from a brochure line. Check the branch you actually want against NBA's own list of accredited programmes before assuming the institutional headline covers it.
One line on the cover of DTU's own continuing education brochure is worth reading for what it is. Beside the NAAC grade, the university describes itself as ISO 9001:2015 certified. That is a quality-management certificate issued after an audit of administrative process, not an academic accreditation, and it carries no weight at all on the standing of a degree.
Aid
Scholarships
The largest single form of help here is not a scholarship but a waiver, and DTU funds it from its own budget rather than passing students to a government scheme. The university provides up to a 100 per cent waiver of the tuition component of academic fees for students meeting a published financial criterion, and granted that waiver to 829 students at a cost of Rs 9.49 crore in the last academic year, per the JAC Delhi brochure.
How far that help actually reaches is narrower than the campus total makes it sound, and the government return is where the scope becomes visible. DTU classes 216 of its four-year undergraduates as economically backward and 4946 as socially challenged, and it is within that group that the engineering data return records 829 students on a full tuition waiver funded by the university, 542 on one from state or central government schemes, 52 on one from a private body, and 3739 on no full reimbursement of any kind.
Merit awards are smaller and more specific. Each B.Tech branch topper receives Rs 10,000, and DTU runs about 25 further merit scholarships funded by alumni on criteria the donors set, per the brochure. Eleven women students in electronics and communication, electrical and mechanical engineering hold the Rupa Rahul Bajaj National Scholarship for Women in Engineering, worth up to Rs 8 lakh each across the degree, and a Dell Aspire Scholars programme starting this academic year adds career coaching and mentorship to its financial component.
International students have their own award and it is unusually wide. Female foreign national applicants admitted through DTU's own portal receive a 100 per cent tuition fee waiver for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes, allocated by region with four undergraduate places each for SAARC and ASEAN countries and smaller allocations for African, Latin American, Central Asian and East European applicants, on the international admission brochure.

Student Reviews
DTU gets no score out of five here, and the blank is a decision rather than a gap. The university runs no published student satisfaction survey of its own, and the aggregate scores that listing sites hang on it disclose neither a method nor a sample size, so reprinting one would be dressing a guess as a measurement. DTU has built something more useful anyway. Its career development page names a student placement coordinator, with a branch mailbox, for each of the fourteen B.Tech branches on its 2024-25 roster, so a candidate torn between electrical engineering and mechanical engineering can write into both departments and ask how the year actually went. An answer from a student who sat through that placement season is worth more than an average of anonymous scores.
Campus
Gallery
This section is blank, and a licence is the reason rather than an oversight. DTU keeps a photo gallery of its own on dtu.ac.in, and none of what it publishes there carries terms permitting reuse elsewhere, so none of it has been copied across. Only two outcomes are permitted in this space: a picture that came from the institution's own domain, or nothing. A stock frame of an anonymous glass block would actively misrepresent a 163.87-acre campus at Bawana Road whose whole character is how much room it has, so nothing is what this gets.
