Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University, Gurgaon

Gurugram, Haryana Est. 2013 Official site Updated
NIRF Pharmacy
#100

SGT University sits on the Gurugram-Badli road at Budhera, and the only NIRF table that ranks it is pharmacy, where it shares 100th place in 2025 with Glocal University, Saharanpur. The ranked unit is SGT College of Pharmacy, which teaches everything from a two-year diploma to a Pharm.D with a residency at the university's own hospital.

One detail matters for every B.Pharm applicant. Haryana's counselling brochure lists two separate B.Pharm departments at this university, each with its own seat count and fee, and only one of them is the college behind the ranking.

Overview

SGT University is the name the institution uses on its website and brochures; its legal name is Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University. The consolidated Haryana Private Universities Act, 2006 that the university publishes lists it at serial 10 of the Schedule as "Shree Guru Govind Singh Tricentenary University at Village Budhera, Distt Gurgaon", with the old spelling of Gobind.

The university's own history dates its university status to 24 January 2013 under the Haryana Private Universities (Amendment) Act No. 8 of 2013. The same page traces it back to the Dashmesh Educational Charitable Trust, constituted in 1999, which opened SGT Dental College, Hospital and Research Institute in 2002 and then added physiotherapy, nursing and medical faculties before the university was created. The trust's listed address is Chandu-Budhera, Gurgaon (Haryana), 122505.

Pharmacy arrived two years after university status. The Faculty of Pharmacy page describes SGT College of Pharmacy, established in 2015, offering diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, Pharm.D. and Ph.D. programmes. The Pharmacy Council of India addresses its approvals to that college under the institute ID PCI-2006, village Budhera, pin code 122505.

Two Pharmacy Units on One Campus

The second B.Pharm unit is the Department of Pharmaceutical Science and Research (DPSR). The university gives it a separate site section with its own dean, Prof. (Dr.) Madhusudan Purohit, and its programme list carries only the Bachelor of Pharmacy. SGT College of Pharmacy's own programme list does not link to it.

The NIRF return filed under the university's name reports a single 100-seat undergraduate intake for each year from 2021-22 to 2024-25, alongside Pharm.D and M.Pharm intakes that match SGT College of Pharmacy's approvals. The ranking figures on this page most likely describe the college alone, and a DPSR applicant should not assume they transfer.

Courses & Fees

SGT College of Pharmacy's courses run from a diploma to a doctorate, and the dearest annual fee is three and a half times the cheapest.

ProgrammeDurationAnnual fee (Rs)
D.Pharm2 years1,20,000
B.Pharm4 years, 8 semesters2,40,000
B.Pharm (Practice)2 years1,00,000

M.Pharm, Pharmaceutical Regulatory Affairs2 years2,25,000
Pharm.D5 years + 1 year residency3,50,000
Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate)2 years + 1 year residency3,50,000

The college's earlier sheet of courses for the 2024-25 session priced every M.Pharm branch at 1.5 L and the Pharm.D at 3 L a year, so every M.Pharm branch in the table above now costs more than it did then.

The B.Pharm Fee at the College and at DPSR

The B.Pharm page puts the fee at INR 2,40,000 (per annum), up from the 2 L a year printed for 2024-25. Haryana's counselling brochure lists the college's tentative fee as "1,20,000 per sem", which is the same annual amount expressed per semester.

DPSR's figures do not line up the same way. Its B.Pharm page gives the programme fee as INR 1,20,000 per semester, identical to the college, while the state brochure lists DPSR at 1,00,000 per sem. Ask the admissions office which figure will appear on your fee receipt before you lock a DPSR choice in counselling.

On paying, the university's general FAQ answers "No" to instalment payment and says programme fees go through the ERP portal or by a demand draft payable at Gurugram. Cheques and direct NEFT or RTGS transfers are not accepted.

Admissions

B.Pharm is the one pharmacy course at SGT that runs through state counselling, and the university's pages describe a different route from the one the state prescribes.

What the University Describes

SGT's admission notice for 2026-27 asks every applicant to register online and pay a registration fee of Rs. 1500/-, after which a Personal Interview is held on Zoom, or on campus for walk-in applicants, before provisional admission. The B.Pharm page calls the process Merit-Based and Personal Interview and asks for 60% in Class 12 with English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology, and an age of 17 by 31st December of the admission year.

What HSTES Requires for B.Pharm

The Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES) prints both SGT units, one after the other, in its list of private university departments. In the intake column headed 2025-26, SGT College of Pharmacy shows 100, marked (2026-27), and DPSR shows 100 with no remark. Three quarters of each unit's seats go through the state's OCET-2026 counselling, and the brochure says the institution fills its own quarter on the basis of merit of marks secured in qualifying examination.

Put together, the merit-and-interview route on SGT's website can only apply to the university's own quarter of the B.Pharm seats, and the state's rule for that quarter names qualifying-exam marks, not an interview. For the rest, you need an OCET rank and a choice list that names the unit you want in full. HSTES postponed B.Pharmacy counselling for the session 2026-27, and its later key-dates sheet still marks counselling as postponed till further orders, so watch hstes.org.in before paying SGT a seat deposit.

D.Pharm, Pharm.D and M.Pharm

D.Pharm and Pharm.D need 10+2 science with 60%. The Pharm.D page also admits Diploma in Pharmacy with 60% marks as an alternative. Every M.Pharm branch asks for B. Pharmacy with 55% marks (50% marks for SC/ST candidates) as per PCI regulations, and none of the branch pages names GPAT as an entry requirement. The B.Pharm (Practice) course is only for D.Pharm holders with 60% and at least four years as a registered pharmacist.

Cutoff

SGT's pharmacy programme pages print no cut-off. The state admissions portal does keep the previous year's B.Pharm ranks for both units, in its Last Year's Opening and Closing Rank Cut-offs tool. The figures appear only after you select B.Pharmacy and then the institute, so there is no direct link to them.

The tool shows allotments for both units in both counselling rounds. SGT College of Pharmacy's seats sit only in the All India Category columns, opening at the same rank in both rounds and closing at a slightly better rank in the second. DPSR opened at a weaker rank than the college in both rounds, yet closed its second round at a stronger All India rank than the college did, and in that round it also allotted seats in the All India female column and the Haryana Open General column; every other category column is blank for both units. If your OCET rank is near either unit's closing rank, list both units rather than one.

The college has come close to its approved B.Pharm intake without always reaching it. Against its 100 approved B.Pharm seats, SGT College of Pharmacy took in 97 first-year students in 2019-20 and 85 in 2020-21, then 96 in 2021-22. The M.Pharm side has run further below capacity, with 41 admitted against 69 approved seats in 2023-24. The M.Pharm and Pharm.D pages print no merit cut-off.

Placements

The college's placement record comes from its NIRF data, filed batch by batch as graduates in the minimum time, students placed, a median salary and students who went on to higher studies. The NIRF format has no average or highest package column, and none is filed.

B.Pharm graduating yearGraduatesPlacedMedian salary (Rs)Higher studies
2021-2250440000028
2022-23852839867620
2023-24754241000025
2024-25684142000027

Higher study is a large outcome for this degree. The first batch on record placed only 4 of its 50 graduates while 28 went on to higher studies. By 2024-25 the placed and higher-studies columns together account for all 68 graduates, with 41 placed and 27 in higher studies, at a median of 420000. The college's 2026 brochure claims NIPER JEE Qualified - 07 and GPAT Qualified-05 without saying which year's students those are.

M.Pharm graduating yearGraduatesPlacedMedian salary (Rs)Higher studies
2021-2221183820003
2022-23261543200011
2023-2448414900002
2024-2538355500003

The M.Pharm median has climbed every year, reaching 550000 for the 2024-25 batch, well above the B.Pharm median the same year. The Pharm.D columns still read zero graduates through 2024-25, so there is no placement record for that degree yet.

Who Recruits Pharmacy Students

The college runs its own job fair. PharmaPICK 3.0 on 5th June 2026 drew more than 20 renowned organizations offering placement and internship opportunities, including Sun Pharma, Medanta, Tata 1mg, AIMIL Pharmaceuticals, Macleods Pharmaceuticals, Akums and Marengo Asia Hospitals. The previous edition claimed over 30 reputed pharmaceutical companies and hospitals and more than 450 participants from over 20 colleges, so it is open to outside candidates as well as SGT students. Neither report says how many offers were made.

The university's Centre for Career Advancement posts annual placement reports only up to 2021-22, and they cover every faculty rather than pharmacy alone.

Seat Matrix

The only PCI decision letter the college links is for 2024-2025, communicated on 07 Sep 2024 after the council's 414th executive committee meeting. It approves pharmacy seats on 12 separate lines.

The Pharm.D programme page prints no intake. The council's letter allows 30 first-year Pharm.D admissions and, separately, 10 Post Baccalaureate students who enter in the fourth year. The same letter grants the fifth year of Pharm.D for the batch of 30 and names SGT Hospital, Chandu-Budhera, Gurgaon as the attached hospital.

The M.Pharm lines add up to the PG intake of 84 that the 2026 NIRF return reports for 2024-25, up from 69 the year before; the council's letter files Regulatory Affairs under new courses. The same return counts 398 students across the B.Pharm years, of whom 75 are women, and 106 Pharm.D students.

For B.Pharm, the HSTES split described under Admissions applies on top of this table. The university's admission notice separately says that, under Section 35 of the Haryana Private Universities Act, 2006, 25% seats in the University shall be reserved for students of the State of Haryana, with 10% of those for Scheduled Caste students of Haryana. The notice does not explain how that reservation interacts with the HSTES split for B.Pharm.

Rankings

SGT University appears in one NIRF table in 2025, pharmacy, at rank 100 with a score of 41.48. It is not in the 2025 Overall, University, Medical or Dental lists, or in the rank bands below the Overall and University tables, despite running medical and dental colleges.

What the Tie at 100 Means

Glocal University, Saharanpur and SGT University finished on exactly the same total, 41.48, and the NIRF table prints both at 100. Nobody holds the next place as a result: the rank band NIRF published below the numbered list is 102-125. A tie says the two totals were equal, not that the institutions look alike underneath, and their parameter scores show different profiles.

NIRF 2025 pharmacy parameterSGT UniversityGlocal University
Teaching, learning and resources66.5663.44
Research and professional practice19.5723.51
Graduation outcomes52.8149.82
Outreach and inclusivity50.7954.35
Perception0.000.00

SGT scores higher on teaching resources and graduation outcomes and lower on research and outreach. Its perception score of zero means none of the total came from NIRF's peer and employer survey. On the diversity side of outreach, the data behind the 2025 rank counts no students from outside India and records 222 of the 378 B.Pharm students as from within the state.

How It Got There

The university entered the NIRF pharmacy exercise in the two years before without being ranked. It is on the list of institutions that participated in 2024 but in neither that year's ranked list nor its 101-125 band, and the same is true of 2023, where it is also absent from the ranked list and the band below it. The 2025 result is therefore its first ranked appearance. The university has uploaded its data for 2026, but the 2026 pharmacy results were not on nirfindia.org when this page was checked in September 2026.

Facilities & Infrastructure

The pharmacy programmes lean on two things a standalone college cannot offer. The first is SGT Hospital at Chandu-Budhera, where Pharm.D students do their residency year and B.Pharm students get pharmacy practice exposure. The second is the National Reference Simulation Centre (NRSC); the college calls itself the only pharmacy college in the NCR with a National Reference Simulation Centre for hands-on practical training.

The B.Pharm page lists an industrial lab with multi-mill and 8-station rotary compression machine, an SGT Medicines Information Center, organic synthesis labs, a molecular modelling cum bioinformatics laboratory, and a medicinal herbal garden and museum. Spending on new laboratory equipment rose from 4134157 in 2022-23 to 12435213 in 2023-24 and 17057638 in 2024-25, and the same return reports lifts or ramps in more than 80% of buildings.

Hostel and Getting There

Hostels are optional and separate for men and women. The FAQ gives yearly rates, mess included, of Twin Sharing: ₹2,00,000, Three Sharing: ₹1,80,000 and Four Sharing: ₹1,40,000, payable only once a year. The FAQ describes the rooms as air-conditioned, while the accommodation page calls AC optional and charged extra, so ask which applies to your room type.

The contact page puts the campus about a 1 hour and 10-minute drive from Delhi using the Dwarka Expressway, with university buses from Dhansa Bus Stand metro station, about 20 km away, and MG Road metro station, about 30 km away. Entry is through Gate Number 1, and the admissions office is in D Block.

The 2025 NIRF return entered 61 faculty members. The 2026 roster is longer and more mixed: it runs to 70 names, eight of them visiting and five of them lecturers with an M. Pharm, and three marked as having left in 2023. Its Dean/Principal row names Prof Vijay Bhalla, while Gauttam appears as a professor who joined on 21-02-2025. The earliest joining date is 19-08-2014, for associate professor Kavita Attri, and 56 of the 70 names joined in 2020 or later.

Verified

Approvals & Accreditation

Statutory approvals and accreditation grades from official bodies.

official-report

The university holds a NAAC A+ grade, which its About page says makes it one of the youngest universities to reach that grade. The NAAC certificate the university posts records the A+ grade from its first accreditation cycle.

For pharmacy specifically, two approvals matter. The Pharmacy Council of India approves each SGT College of Pharmacy course line by line, and the 2024-2025 letter directs readers to verify course validity at pcionline.co.in, which is worth doing for your admission year since each line carries an "approval upto" session. The college also reports an "A" Grade in the Quality Council of India (QCI) Ranking and Ratings of Pharmacy Colleges, developed with PCI, and describes itself as Haryana's only pharmacy institution with that grade; that is the college's own claim.

SGT gives two bed counts for SGT Hospital. The About page describes an 850-bedded NABH & NABL accredited tertiary care hospital, and the pharmacy brochure also says 850, but the B.Pharm page offers access to the 810-bed SGT Medical College, Hospital, and Research Institute for pharmacy practice.

Aid

Scholarships

B.Pharm students are shut out of SGT's own scholarship scheme. The disclaimer of the university's current Scholarship and Financial Aid Policy lists B. Pharm among the programmes the policy does not apply to, beside MBBS, BDS, BAMS, B.Sc. Nursing and BPT, and its undergraduate merit, sports and special-category tables all carry that exclusion. D.Pharm, Pharm.D and M.Pharm are not named in the exclusion list, though the postgraduate merit table says it applies only to non-medical courses, so ask whether your M.Pharm branch qualifies before relying on it.

That leaves B.Pharm applicants with statutory and state routes. SGT's admission notice repeats the merit-cum-means fee concession of Section 36 of the Haryana Private Universities Act, 2006 for the 25% of students who are Haryana domiciles: one-fifth of them receive a full fee concession, two-fifths a fifty percent concession and the remaining two-fifths a twenty-five percent concession. HSTES counselling adds supernumerary Tuition Fee Waiver and EWS seats, allotted on OCET rank.

Actual reimbursements have been rare. In the 2026 NIRF return, 107 of the 398 B.Pharm students are shown as not receiving full tuition reimbursement, one student is reimbursed from government funds and one from the institution, and the rest of the class is not counted in either column.

Voices

Student Reviews

Expertie has no verified reviews from SGT pharmacy students to publish. The six alumni quotes on the Faculty of Pharmacy page are selected by the university and show no graduation year or current employer. For a view the university did not curate, the filed batch outcomes in the Placements section are the better check.
