Krupanidhi College Of Pharmacy
Krupanidhi College of Pharmacy is a private pharmacy college on the Sarjapur Road side of Bengaluru, and most of its students come from outside Karnataka. Its latest return to the national ranking framework counts more B.Pharm students from other states than from Karnataka, and nearly five out-of-state students for every local one in its M.Pharm classes. That mix shapes how you get in, because the state's counselling routes reach only a slice of the seats. The college teaches every pharmacy level from the diploma to the Ph.D under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, and it placed 91st in the 2025 NIRF pharmacy list.
Overview
The student count settles the question of who this college serves. For 2024-25 it reported 400 students in the four-year B.Pharm, of whom 146 were from within Karnataka, 237 from other states and 17 from outside India; 134 in the two-year M.Pharm, with 21 from Karnataka and 102 from other states; and 188 in the six-year Pharm.D.
The college dates its start to a small building in Koramangala in 1985, according to the self-assessment report it filed for NBA accreditation, and names Dr. Suresh Nagpal, Mrs. Geetha Nagpal and Prof. Sunil Samson Dhamanigi as its founders. An older AICTE disclosure on the college's site records the Krupanidhi Educational Trust's registration on 10/01/1985 and the D.Pharm's first year of approval as 1985. The ranking framework files the college under the code IR-P-C-40235.
The pharmacy college is one unit of a larger group, so be careful about which institution a claim belongs to. The footer on the college's own website links separate Krupanidhi nursing, physiotherapy, degree, pre-university and business school sites, and the group's campus-wide claims (the green campus, the gym, the cafeteria) are written for all of them together. The NBA report calls the pharmacy college a constituent unit of the Krupanidhi Group of Institutions.
The same report states that the college received autonomous status for 10 years under UGC guidelines, from 2024-2025 to 2034-2035. The Pharmacy Council's approval letter for 2025-26 still names Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences against every degree course, so ask the college whose name will be printed on your degree certificate.
Courses & Fees
Six programmes are taught at the college, one of them split into six M.Pharm branches, and the Pharmacy Council of India approves the intake for each course separately. The table below takes its seat numbers from the council's decision letter for the 2025-2026 session, communicated on 13 Aug 2025, and the durations from the college's own course pages.
| Programme | Duration | PCI-approved intake, 2025-2026 | Examined by |
|---|---|---|---|
| D.Pharm | 2 years plus hospital training | 120 | Board of Examining Authority, Karnataka |
| B.Pharm | 4 years (3 years for lateral entry) | 100 | RGUHS |
| Pharm.D | 6 years, including a 1-year internship | 30 | RGUHS |
| Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate) | 3 years, including a 1-year internship | 10 | RGUHS |
| M.Pharm Pharmaceutics | 2 years | 15 | RGUHS |
| M.Pharm Pharmacology | 2 years | 15 | RGUHS |
| M.Pharm Pharmaceutical Chemistry | 2 years | 15 | RGUHS |
| M.Pharm Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance | 2 years | 15 | RGUHS |
| M.Pharm Pharmaceutical Analysis | 2 years | 12 | RGUHS |
| M.Pharm Pharmacognosy | 2 years | 10 | RGUHS |
The Ph.D is offered in pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacology and pharmaceutics, runs for 4-5 years and asks for a first-class M.Pharm. The college reported 7 full-time and 9 part-time doctoral students in its 2026 ranking return.
Pharmacognosy is the branch the college's own paperwork is least consistent about. The NBA report's sanctioned-intake tables name only Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Quality Assurance, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutics, yet KEA's 2024 seat matrix and the council's 2025-2026 letter both carry a Pharmacognosy M.Pharm. The website's Doctor of Pharmacognosy page simply reprints the Ph.D text, whose listed specialisations do not include pharmacognosy, so confirm the branch's approval history with the college before choosing it.
What a CET Seat Costs
The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) publishes a fixed charge for the B.Pharm and Pharm.D seats it allots at private unaided pharmacy colleges. Krupanidhi appears in KEA's pharmacy cutoff and seat sheets under college code B027, so this table applies to a B.Pharm or Pharm.D seat you win there through the Karnataka CET.
| KEA fee for unaided colleges, 2026-2027 | B.Pharm (Rs) | Pharm.D (Rs) |
|---|---|---|
| General merit, 2A, 2B, 3A, 3B, and SC/ST or Category-1 above the income limits | 28,600 | 73,700 |
| SC/ST with annual family income up to Rs 10 lakh | 0 | 0 |
| Category-1 with annual family income up to Rs 2.5 lakh | 22,000 | 73,700 |
No fee for management seats, the D.Pharm, the M.Pharm or Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate) is published on the college's website, whose course pages carry syllabi and eligibility rules but no amounts. Ask Krupanidhi's admission office for the non-CET fee schedule on paper before any deposit changes hands.
Admissions
KEA fills only a minority of the seats in each Krupanidhi degree course, so for most students the real entry point is the college's own admission office.
B.Pharm and Pharm.D through the Karnataka CET. KEA runs counselling for both courses and lists this college as B027 Krupanidhi College of Pharmacy Bangalore. The college's B.Pharm page asks for a 10+2 pass with English and physics, chemistry and mathematics or biology, or a D.Pharm for lateral entry into the third semester. The Pharm.D page sets an age floor of 17 yrs and above on 31st December of the year of admission.
M.Pharm and Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate) government seats through KEA's PG entrance test. KEA's 2024 information bulletin opens these seats only to Indian citizens of Karnataka origin, a definition that also covers a candidate whose parent has lived in the state for not less than ten years. The B.Pharm must come from a college located in Karnataka with at least 55% aggregate (50% for SC, ST and Category-I), and applicants must be under 45. Since 102 of the college's 134 M.Pharm students in 2024-25 came from other states, this route is closed to most of the people who actually study the M.Pharm here.
Applying to the college directly. The admission procedure page shared across the Krupanidhi group describes an online or offline form, an application fee of Rs.1000 for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate courses and Rs.500 for diploma courses, a review by a board, and a warning that fees once paid are not refunded. For the M.Pharm, the college wants at least 55% across the four B.Pharm years, and anyone admitted must obtain State Pharmacy Council registration within one month or lose the seat.
D.Pharm. The college asks for a science pass with physics, chemistry and biology or mathematics, a minimum age of 17 years and above, and 500 hours of practical training in a PCI-recognised government hospital or pharmacy after the second-year exam. Its annual and supplementary examinations are set by the Board of Examining Authority, which the course page places under Karnataka's Drugs Control Department.
Cutoff
At B027 the Pharm.D, not the B.Pharm, was the harder CET seat to reach in 2024, and its general merit line did not budge in round 2 while the B.Pharm's slid outward.
| KCET-2024 closing rank at B027 | B.Pharm, round 1 | B.Pharm, round 2 | Pharm.D, round 1 | Pharm.D, round 2 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GM (general merit) | 47149 | 55822 | 12453 | 12453 |
| GMR (general merit, rural) | 71985 | 72345 | 39883 | 40467 |
| 2AG | 53118 | 79946 | 38829 | 41604 |
| 3BG | 48207 | 84461 | 34096 | 34096 |
| SCG | 94948 | 103885 | 50220 | 50220 |
| 1G | 68789 | 68789 | Not listed | Not listed |
Every B.Pharm category line in the table either held or moved outward in round 2, and the 3BG line moved out by roughly three quarters, so a B.Pharm candidate who missed in round 1 still had a real chance in round 2. The Pharm.D offered far less: its general merit, 3BG and SCG lines stayed exactly where they were, while its rural and 2AG lines drifted outward only slightly.
Very little is left by the final rounds. KEA's UGCET-2026 third-round list of unallotted and cancelled B.Pharm seats, dated 31-08-2026, shows 3 seats left at B027, one each in 1G, 1H and 2AG.
No closing rank or merit list for the M.Pharm, the D.Pharm or the college's own admissions is published on its website.
Placements
The college's placement figures come from its NIRF returns, which count every graduating year group rather than a highlight list.
| Programme and graduating year | Graduated on time | Placed | Median salary (Rs) | Went to higher studies |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| B.Pharm 2022-23 | 71 | 19 | 4,28,500 | 52 |
| B.Pharm 2023-24 | 86 | 38 | 4,40,000 | 47 |
| B.Pharm 2024-25 | 98 | 42 | 5,10,000 | 55 |
| M.Pharm 2022-23 | 40 | 35 | 5,50,000 | 5 |
| M.Pharm 2023-24 | 59 | 56 | 5,60,000 | 3 |
| M.Pharm 2024-25 | 67 | 63 | 5,85,000 | 4 |
| Pharm.D 2022-23 | 28 | 27 | 5,80,000 | 1 |
| Pharm.D 2023-24 | 28 | 27 | 5,75,000 | 1 |
| Pharm.D 2024-25 | 29 | 28 | 5,95,000 | 1 |
The B.Pharm class of 2022-23 is the outlier. Of 71 on-time graduates, 52 went on to further study and only 19 took jobs, and the salary median is drawn from those 19. For the 2024-25 group, placements and higher studies together account for all but one of the 98 graduates. The Pharm.D rows show near-total placement with almost nobody continuing to study.
One figure in the return disagrees with itself. The Pharm.D 2023-24 median is printed as 575000 in digits but written out as "Five lakh Eighty one thousand" in words, in both the 2025 return on NIRF's site and the 2026 copy. The 2025 return also carries the year before: 67 B.Pharm graduates in 2021-22, 30 placed at a median of 330000 and 32 in higher studies.
The NBA report counts B.Pharm outcomes a different way, adding jobs, entrepreneurship and higher studies together. It reports 30 placed and 22 in higher studies out of 57 final-year students in 2020-21, for a placement index of 0.91.
The placement cell is coordinated by Dr. Litha Thomas and Dr. Vastvikta Sahai, according to the training and placement page, which also describes a Job Fair, Career Expo and Hackathon held on the campus on 2nd and 3rd September 2025. The page gives no list of companies that hired from that event.
Seat Matrix
Only part of the B.Pharm and Pharm.D intake here goes into the state's CET pool. KEA's seat availability sheet dated 24-JUL-24 gave B027 28 B.Pharm seats and 9 Pharm.D seats for 2024-25, against the 100 and 30 the Pharmacy Council approves. Within those 28 B.Pharm seats, 8 were general merit and 4 were SC general, and 2 of the 9 Pharm.D seats were general merit.
Postgraduate government seats are listed branch by branch. KEA's 2024 provisional seat matrix for M.Pharm and Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate) placed these seats at the college:
| Course | KEA government seats, 2024 | Categories listed |
|---|---|---|
| M.Pharm Pharmaceutics | 5 | 3BG, GM, GMH, SCG, STG |
| M.Pharm Pharmacology | 5 | 2AG, 3BH, GM, PH, SCG |
| M.Pharm Pharmaceutical Chemistry | 5 | 1G, 2AG, GM (2), SCG |
| M.Pharm Quality Assurance | 5 | 2BG, GM (3), STG |
| M.Pharm Pharmaceutical Analysis | 4 | 1G, 2BG, 3AG, GM |
| M.Pharm Pharmacognosy | 2 | 3AG, GM |
| Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate) | 3 | 2AG, GM, SCG |
The college's own records of how many students it actually admitted also differ between two documents. NIRF's 2026 return shows 100 first-year B.Pharm admissions in each of 2019-20, 2020-21 and 2021-22, while the NBA report puts first-year admissions at 96, 99 and 98 for those years. The M.Pharm filled well below its sanctioned 67 in some years, with 43 admitted in 2020-21 and 40 in 2021-22.
Rankings
Krupanidhi College of Pharmacy was ranked 91st in the 2025 NIRF pharmacy ranking with a score of 42.63, its best placing across the 2022 to 2025 tables.
| NIRF edition | Pharmacy rank | Score | Teaching (TLR) | Research (RPC) | Graduation outcomes (GO) | Outreach (OI) | Perception |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2025 | 91 | 42.63 | 67.67 | 8.50 | 59.67 | 68.79 | 9.68 |
| 2024 | 98 | 40.10 | 66.16 | 9.65 | 48.64 | 66.98 | 9.17 |
| 2022 | 98 | 37.73 | 64.22 | 8.26 | 40.15 | 64.83 | 14.70 |
The climb since 2022 comes almost entirely from graduation outcomes, which rose from 40.15 in 2022 to 59.67 in 2025, while research stayed in single digits and perception fell. A research score of 8.50 out of 100 is the weakest part of its profile.
The college does not appear in the 2023 pharmacy table, so its 98th place in 2024 was a return to the list rather than a continuation.
Departments
The college's website carries no separate department pages. Its structure can be read from the M.Pharm specialisations the Pharmacy Council approves, which are Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, Pharmaceutical Analysis and Pharmacognosy, plus the pharmacy practice teaching behind the Pharm.D. The Pharm.D programme uses MVJ Medical College and Research Hospital, which it describes as having 950 beds, for clinical rounds, and the college runs a drug information centre inside that hospital.
Facilities & Infrastructure
The pharmacy block's lab count depends on which page you read. The campus page lists 18 well equipped labs, including four pharmaceutics labs, four pharmaceutical chemistry labs and a machine room, while the about page says the college has 20 high tech labs.
The NBA report gives floor areas for the research space. It lists an advanced instrumentation lab of 1075 sq ft, an animal house of 2000 sq ft, a medicinal garden of 5400 sq ft and a pilot plant of 1450 sq ft, 17,175 sq ft in total including the five postgraduate labs. The same report describes a digital library with 28 computers and a main library with 10, HELINET access to e-journals through RGUHS, Lexicomp for Pharm.D students and Autodock for docking work.
The animal house is registered with the animal experimentation regulator under 378/PO/ReBi/S/01/CPCSEA, holds mice, rats and rabbits, and is run by the pharmacology department with an ethics committee chaired by the principal.
Spending on lab equipment has grown fast. The college's returns record Rs 3,66,000 on new laboratory equipment in 2021-22, rising to Rs 70,43,507 in 2024-25. Krupanidhi's 2026 return answers yes to all three disability questions, putting ramps or lifts and specially designed toilets in more than 80% of its buildings.
Hostel
Hostel details are published only at group level. The campus page says the Krupanidhi colleges have separate hostels for boys and girls, with rooms on a four-to-a-room, twin-sharing or single-occupancy basis, attached bathrooms, solar water heaters, Wi-Fi and wardens. It gives no room count reserved for pharmacy students and no hostel or mess fee, so ask the admission office for both.
Faculty
Fifty-eight names appear in the teaching table of Krupanidhi's 2026 NIRF return, every one marked Regular, and 42 are women. Twenty-six hold a Ph.D, and 34 of the 58 are assistant professors. The principal, Dr. Raman Dang, is shown joining on 01-06-2022, yet the college's 2013-14 AICTE disclosure already named Dr. Raman Dang as principal, and the return does not explain the gap.
The longest-serving names on the list go back to the college's first year. Samson Sunil joined on 15-07-1985 and Dr. Suresh Nagpal, a founder of the trust, on 17-07-1985, according to the same return. Among the senior staff, the NBA report lists Dr. MD Karvekar as an Ex EC member of PCI and Chairman of the UG-PCI Curriculum Committee, and Dr. Raman Dang as Hon. General Secretary of the Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India.
The NBA report gives a department student-faculty ratio of 13.24 for 2024-25, with 54 faculty.
Research money is modest. For 2024-25 the college reported 7 sponsored projects worth Rs 20,90,289 and 17 consultancy projects worth Rs 10,73,795, with 8 patents published in 2024, which fits the low research score in its NIRF profile.
Notable Alumni
The alumni entry in the website's menu is an empty link, so there is no published roll of notable graduates. Its NBA report names one, Dr. Kishore, co-founder and director of Belenus Champion Hospital, Bengaluru, without a surname or graduating year, and the same report tabulates B.Pharm students who won RGUHS semester ranks from 2017 to 2024.
News & Articles
The update feed on the college's home page was last added to on 21 Dec 2024, with a CEO conclave, a graduation day and a job fair, and it still carries an item headed "NIRF 2024, Ranked 98th Among Top Pharmacy Institutes". A newer event, the Job Fair, Career Expo and Hackathon of September 2025, is reported only on the placement page. KEA announces round-by-round B.Pharm and Pharm.D seat changes on its own UGCET pages, not on the college's site.
College Compare
The KCET-2024 round 1 sheet lets you see where Krupanidhi's B.Pharm sits among other Bengaluru pharmacy colleges. The general merit B.Pharm seat closed at 16012 at Government College of Pharmacy, 37084 at Al-Ameen College of Pharmacy, 47149 at Krupanidhi and 48446 at Aditya Bangalore Institute of Pharmacy Education and Research.
For the Pharm.D, the same round closed general merit at 12453 at Krupanidhi, against 14556 at Al-Ameen and 24226 at Aditya. By that measure Krupanidhi's Pharm.D was harder to get into through the CET than these two colleges', even though its B.Pharm was easier than Al-Ameen's.
Contact & Location
Addresses for the college variously lead with Chikkabellandur, Carmelaram or Varthur, and all three belong to one postal address. The Pharmacy Council's letter addresses the college at Chikkabellandur Village, Carmelaram Post, Varthur Hobli, Bangalore, pin code 560035: Carmelaram is the post office and Varthur the hobli.

Approvals & Accreditation
Statutory approvals and accreditation grades from official bodies.
Krupanidhi's four-year B.Pharm carries National Board of Accreditation status. NBA's list of accredited pharmacy programmes shows "Krupanidhi College of Pharmacy (Bangalore Urban)" accredited for the Academic Year 2025-26, 2026-27 and 2027-28, i.e., upto 30/06/2028. The college's report to NBA calls it a first-time accreditation.
The Pharmacy Council of India approved every course for the 2025-2026 academic session, subject to inspection through the year and on condition that teaching staff details are registered on the AEBAS portal within 3 months. Its about page puts the NAAC A+ grade, PCI and AICTE approval and RGUHS affiliation side by side, without giving a date or cycle for the NAAC grade.
Aid
Scholarships
The strongest scholarship evidence here is the count of students whose tuition was fully reimbursed. Among B.Pharm students from economically backward or socially challenged groups in 2024-25, the college reported 86 fully reimbursed by state and central government, 76 by the college itself and 3 by private bodies, while 146 did not receive full reimbursement. In the Pharm.D the institution covered just 5 students in full against 42 covered by government.
KEA's fee rules act as a scholarship on CET seats: an SC or ST student with family income up to Rs 10 lakh pays 0 on a B.Pharm or Pharm.D seat at an unaided college in 2026-2027, instead of 28,600 or 73,700.
The college's own scholarship page links a merit scholarship form and a sports scholarship form, but states no amounts, marks thresholds or number of awards.

No verified reviews from Krupanidhi College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru students sit on this page yet. Reviews posted elsewhere under the Krupanidhi name can just as easily describe the group's nursing, physiotherapy or business school, so confirm the reviewer actually studied pharmacy. If you are applying, ask to speak to current Pharm.D or M.Pharm students about hospital postings at MVJ and about how many out-of-state classmates they have.
