Scholarship
Tuition Fees And Examination Fees To Vjnt/sbc Students Studying In High Schools(Tfefvssshs)
Overview
About Tfefvssshs
The Government of Maharashtra runs this scheme to cover the tuition and examination fees of high school students from the Vimukta Jati and Nomadic Tribes (VJNT) and Special Backward Classes (SBC) categories. The state's Social Justice and Special Assistance Department administers it, alongside its other education and welfare support for backward-class communities in Maharashtra.
The purpose is to keep VJNT and SBC students enrolled by taking the fee burden off the family, the kind of cost that can push a household to pull a child out of school. The support is given in kind rather than as cash. The state pays the tuition and examination fees the student would otherwise owe, so continuing high school does not depend on what the family can afford.
It is meant for individual VJNT and SBC students studying in high schools in Maharashtra. Applications go through the state's MahaDBT portal, where the department processes its fee and scholarship benefits. Income limits and category conditions set by the department decide who qualifies.
