Award Of Stipend To VJNT And SBC Students Studying In ITI(AWVSSSI)
Overview
About AWVSSSI
The Award of Stipend to VJNT and SBC Students Studying in ITI is a Maharashtra state scheme for trainees at approved industrial training institutes. It is run by the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department, Government of Maharashtra, which handles welfare schemes for the state's Vimukta Jati and Nomadic Tribes (VJNT) and Special Backward Class (SBC) communities.
The scheme is meant to encourage VJNT and SBC students to take up technical education. Eligible trainees receive a maintenance allowance of between Rs.40 and Rs.100 a month, paid for up to ten months through the ITI where they are enrolled.
It is open to VJNT and SBC students enrolled as trainees at an approved ITI in Maharashtra, subject to a cap on parental or guardian income. Students apply offline through their ITI rather than online, and the ITI principal handles selection.
