Overview

About TRSP

The Tiatr Research Scholarship Program is a state scheme of Goa run by the Art, Culture and Museums Department. It supports college and university students who want to research Tiatr and its songs and music, and it pairs that support with a route to publish the resulting work.

Tiatr is a form of musical theatre from Goa, performed mainly in Romi Konkani, in which songs are woven through the acts of a play. Goa's cultural work in this field is handled through the Directorate of Art & Culture and its Tiatr Academy of Goa, set up in January 2009 to foster and develop Tiatr and its dances, music, songs and literature.

The benefit is a scholarship for the research work together with an opportunity to have it published. The scheme is open to students pursuing graduation, post-graduation and PhD studies who take up research on Tiatr, its song or its music.
