CM-Vashistha Guru Puraskar(CMVGP)
Overview
About CMVGP
CM-Vashistha Guru Puraskar is Goa's state Best Teacher Award, run by the Directorate of Education under the state Education Department. The Chief Minister presents it on Teachers' Day, 5 September, at a function held in Panaji.
The award honours serving school teachers who have improved the quality of school education in Goa and made a real difference to their students. Recipients are chosen across categories that cover primary teachers, secondary teachers, high school headmasters, higher secondary teachers and higher secondary principals, with separate honours for North Goa and South Goa in most categories.
This is an individual recognition for teachers, not a student scholarship. If you teach in a Goa school, your work can be put forward for the state's formal commendation; if you are a student or parent, it marks the teachers the Goa government has publicly recognised for their record in the classroom.
