D. D. Kosambi Research Fellowship Scheme(DDKFS)
Overview
About DDKFS
The D. D. Kosambi Research Fellowship Scheme is a state research fellowship framed by the Government of Goa and run by the Directorate of Art and Culture. It supports scholars who study Goa itself, its society, economy, polity, history, art and culture, and it accepts only research topics that are closely connected to Goa.
The scheme is named after Damodar Dharmananda Kosambi, the historian and mathematician born in 1907 at Kosben in Goa. Its stated aims are to encourage Goan scholars to take up such research, to develop a research culture within the state, and to promote interdisciplinary research in Goa's colleges and university.
Three fellowships are awarded each year, one each at the junior, senior and post-doctoral level, and the benefit is a monthly cash stipend paid over the research period. The award is meant for individual Goan scholars who have completed postgraduate study, with the post-doctoral category open to those who hold a PhD. The Directorate invites applications through a yearly press advertisement, and a selection committee constituted by the Government chooses the fellows.
