Overview

About TWISICTLSSG

The Wired Internet Scheme for Information and Communication Technology Laboratory in Schools is run by the Government of Goa, which notified it in the state's Official Gazette (Series I No. 15) on 13 July 2023. It reimburses schools for the monthly rental they pay to keep their ICT laboratory connected to the internet.

The support is recurring, not a one-time grant. A school pays a local provider for a wired connection and claims the monthly rental back, up to a fixed cap. Goa treats internet access as part of everyday schooling: it lets students use MOOC platforms and build the digital and computational skills the state wants taught in its classrooms.

Government and government-aided schools that run an ICT laboratory under the Directorate of Education are the intended beneficiaries. The money goes to the school rather than to individual students, and it covers the internet rental alone.
