State Horticulture Scholarship(SHS)
Overview
About SHS
The State Horticulture Scholarship is a stipend scheme run by the Department of Horticulture, Government of Nagaland. It supports students from the state who are studying horticulture at graduate, postgraduate and doctoral level, covering the B.Sc. (Horticulture), M.Sc. (Horticulture) and Ph.D. (Horticulture) programmes.
The scheme pays a monthly stipend for the length of the enrolled course, credited directly to the student's bank account. It is meant to carry a student through the full span of a horticulture programme, which for a doctorate can run several years, so that continuing the course does not hinge on other funding.
It is open to indigenous inhabitants of Nagaland who are enrolled in a UGC-recognised institution for one of the three horticulture courses and are not already drawing a scholarship or stipend from another source. Applications are made online through the state's Common Scholarship Portal, where the Department of Horticulture processes them.
