Overview

About SDS(SPD)

The State Disability Scholarship, also listed as the Scholarship for Persons with Disabilities, is a Nagaland state scheme run by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Nagaland. The department acts as the state's nodal agency for programmes under the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, and it administers this scholarship alongside its other disability welfare measures.

The scheme provides direct financial assistance, paid as a cash scholarship, to school students who live with a disability. The award is set at the school-education level rather than for college or professional study, and the amount is graded by class.

It is meant for students in Classes I to VIII who have a recognised benchmark disability, as defined under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017, and who study in Nagaland. Applications are made online through the state's Common Scholarship Portal.
