Overview
About SCHOLARSHIPTCESD
Scholarships for Top Class Education for Students with Disabilities is a cash scholarship for students with disabilities in the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. On the myScheme portal it is listed as a state-level scheme, with the Union Territory's Social Welfare Department as the implementing body.
The scholarship is meant to help these students meet the cost of higher education at the notified institutes it covers. Its support goes beyond tuition. Eligible students can receive reimbursement of course fees along with a maintenance allowance, a book grant, help toward a laptop and assistive devices, and allowances tied to specific disabilities. Awards are subject to a family income ceiling, so the scheme is aimed at students from lower-income households.
It is open to students with disabilities pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate study at the notified institutes named under the scheme. The scholarship shares its name with the national Top Class Education for Students with Disabilities programme administered by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.
