Supply of School Uniform and Tie belt to SC/ST Boys/ Girls Students of Std I to VIII(SUPPLY OF SCHOOL UNIFORM, TIE BELT)
Overview
About SUPPLY OF SCHOOL UNIFORM, TIE BELT
The Supply of School Uniform and Tie belt to SC/ST Boys/Girls Students is a state welfare scheme of the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. It is run by the territory's Directorate of Education, the arm of the UT administration that manages government schooling across the region.
The scheme gives Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe children in classes I to VIII, studying at government schools, a school uniform together with a tie and belt. The benefit is in kind, meaning students receive the items themselves rather than a cash payment, so the cost of turning up to school in uniform does not fall on the family. It covers both boys and girls.
It is one of several education support measures the Directorate of Education provides for SC and ST students in the territory. Support under the scheme is limited to eligible children enrolled in the UT's government schools.
