The Directorate of Education's e-tender for 2022-23 shows what a girl's set looked like on paper. For Std I to V it specified a sky blue half-sleeve shirt with puff sleeves and a check collar, a check skirt with an elastic back waistband, and a check tie on an adjustable clip; for Std VI and above, a sky blue shirt with navy piping, a navy divider skirt with two sky blue stripes near the hem, and a full tie 60 inches long. Its schedule of supply sought 42,972 pairs of girls' uniform for Std I to V and 24,946 pairs for Std VI to VIII (Directorate of Education e-tender for uniform, tie and belt). That order was cancelled in December 2022 after the supplier failed to deliver, so the specification records what the Directorate asked for, not what reached schools that year (Directorate of Education cancellation order).

The only rupee figure on record sits in the UT's Samagra Shiksha plan. For 2024-25, the Ministry of Education's Project Approval Board recommended free uniforms for all girls, ST boys and SC boys, the three groups this entry names, and for BPL boys, at a unit cost of 0.00600 lakh rupees, which is Rs 600, per child (PAB minutes for DNH & DD, 2024-25). myScheme does not say that this line pays for this kit.

ST boys outnumber SC boys about thirty to one in that plan, so if it is a fair picture of who this entry reaches, its boys are overwhelmingly tribal. The minutes price the uniform alone and never mention a tie or a belt, and we found no official page that says which budget buys those.
