Scholarships for Meritorious Students to Study Abroad(SFMSTSA)
Overview
About SFMSTSA
Scholarships for Meritorious Students to Study Abroad is a state scheme run by the Higher Education Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. It gives cash assistance to a small number of high-scoring postgraduate students from the state each year so they can pursue advanced study, typically a Master's or doctoral programme, at a foreign university.
The aim is straightforward. Students from Madhya Pradesh with strong academic records but limited family means often cannot fund study abroad on their own, and the scheme helps meet that cost. It is administered through the state's higher education machinery, and applications are handled on the Madhya Pradesh scholarship portal maintained by the National Informatics Centre.
The benefit is monetary. It is meant for domiciled residents of Madhya Pradesh who have completed postgraduation with high marks and who meet the department's income and academic conditions. Because the number of awards each year is small, selection is competitive; the exact eligibility thresholds and slots are set by the department and appear alongside this summary.
