About SKSCY
The Shram Kalyan Shaikshanik Chatravriti Yojana is an educational scholarship offered by the Government of Madhya Pradesh for working labourers in the state. The name states its purpose plainly: Shram Kalyan is labour welfare and Shaikshanik Chatravriti an educational scholarship, so the scheme puts money toward the studies of people who work.
It is run through the Madhya Pradesh Labour Department (Shram Vibhag), the state authority responsible for labour regulation and worker welfare, which registers factories and establishments and oversees welfare programmes for their workers. The benefit is paid as cash, a direct payment meant to defray the cost of education for an eligible worker.
Support is directed at the individual labourer rather than an institution or employer, and it is confined to Madhya Pradesh. The eligible category of worker, the amount payable, and the documents required are set by the state Labour Department.

Eligibility criteria
| The applicant must be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh. | |
| The parents of the applicant should be employed in a factory or institution established in Madhya Pradesh under the Labor Welfare Fund Act, 1982. | |
| Only 2 children of a family are eligible to get the benefits of this scheme. | |
| Children of officers and employees working in institutions with managerial capacity are not eligible to get the benefit of this scheme. |
