Overview

About SCTALENTPOOL

The Talent Pool Scheme is a Gujarat state scholarship for Scheduled Caste students. It is run by the Directorate of Scheduled Caste Welfare, part of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department of the Government of Gujarat, and is listed among that directorate's educational schemes.

The scheme is built for meritorious SC students. It aims to give them a place in selected high-quality residential schools and to cover the cost, so an able child from a Scheduled Caste family can attend schooling that would otherwise be out of reach. The support reaches the student as cash.

Who qualifies is narrower than the SC population at large: places are tied to merit and to the specific schools the department selects, and the eligibility conditions and amount are fixed by the department. A student who clears those conditions gets government funding to study, with the stated intent of steadying their later career and household prospects.
