Overview

About SSSCSSS

The Special Scholarship to SC Students in Selected Schools is a scholarship offered by the Government of Gujarat for Scheduled Caste students. It is run by the state's Social Justice and Empowerment Department, whose Director of Scheduled Caste Welfare administers educational schemes for SC students.

The scheme meets the school fees of SC students who gain admission to a group of reputed schools outside Gujarat's ordinary state school system. These include The Doon School in Dehradun, Sainik School, and Mayo School in Ajmer. The benefit is paid in cash against the fees actually charged, up to an annual limit fixed by the department.

It is meant for individual SC students from Gujarat. By covering fees at these selected schools, the scheme lets a student who clears admission take up a place that the cost of such schools might otherwise put out of reach.
