Overview

About S/SSCSITI/PC(SVS)

The Swami Vivekanand Scholarship is a Gujarat state scheme that gives a monthly stipend, framed as a scholarship, to Scheduled Caste students who are training in professional courses at Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs). It covers students enrolled in both government and private ITIs in the state.

The scheme is run by the Directorate of Scheduled Caste Welfare, which sits within the Social Justice and Empowerment Department of the Government of Gujarat. That department carries the state's mandate under Article 46 of the Constitution to advance the education and interests of weaker sections, and it delivers a range of hostel, residential-school and scholarship schemes to SC students.

The benefit is paid in cash to the individual student, and the intent is to support SC trainees with the cost of a vocational qualification while they study. Eligibility is set by the department and is limited to students of the Scheduled Caste category who are pursuing an ITI professional course in Gujarat.
