Overview

About SCDDRGE

The Madhya Pradesh School Education Department pays this scholarship once a year, not once a month, and the amount is set by class slab: Rs 50 a year in the primary classes and Rs 250 a year in the higher secondary classes, per the state's own social protection compendium prepared by the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Good Governance and Policy Analysis Social Protection in Madhya Pradesh, scheme 21. It reaches one narrow group of families, and the paperwork that decides it is a single certificate about the parent.

The Directorate of Public Instruction lists it as scheme 21 in the School Education chapter of that compendium, with a stated objective of motivating the children of government employees who are dead, retired or disabled Social Protection in Madhya Pradesh. What is missing from the entry is as telling as what is in it. There is no income test, no BPL ration card, no caste certificate and no marks bar, which puts it in unusual company: the run of school scholarships printed immediately before it in the same chapter, from the General Poor Class Scholarship Scheme through to the Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Meritorious Students Incentive Scheme, every one of them measures the guardian's income against a 1 lakh ceiling Social Protection in Madhya Pradesh.

The size of the payment sets what it can sensibly be used for. At these rates it is a token of continuity rather than help with fees, so it belongs alongside whatever the family already gets from the school system rather than in place of it. That is exactly where the scheme's one blocking condition bites, because a student already holding another scholarship is outside it, and on the rates printed in the same chapter the alternative is usually the larger one.

Calendar

Important dates

This scheme runs on the school's calendar, not on a state notification. Look for a date in the compendium entry or in the scheme record and there is nothing to find: neither carries an application window, and no annual circular announcing one is published for families. What binds a household is instead the day its own school stops collecting claims for the academic year, which usually falls in with the collection of previous class marksheets, so the question worth asking at the school office is when that list closes.

Who can apply

Eligibility criteria

Read the compendium entry closely and the conditions come from three different lines of it, which is why summaries of this scheme disagree with each other. The eligibility line proper names only three: the student is a government school student, is not a beneficiary of any other scholarship, and has passed the previous class. The parent's service is carried by the scheme's title and objective rather than by that line, and it is enforced through the document list, which demands a death, disability or retirement certificate Social Protection in Madhya Pradesh. The public scheme record adds the two conditions the state entry leaves implicit: permanent residence in Madhya Pradesh, and a class between 1 and 12 at a government school in the state myScheme record.

Now the part the search results answer with more confidence than the sources do. Neither the Directorate's entry nor the scheme record says whether the parent had to serve the Madhya Pradesh state government specifically, whether a central government or public sector employer counts, whether any minimum length of service applies, or what degree of disability qualifies. No percentage appears anywhere in the published text. Nor does the document list ask for a service book, a pension payment order or an employer certificate, so nothing on paper resolves an argument about the employer either.

That leaves the question with people rather than with a rule. The compendium prints one line for it, naming the school authorities and the district office of public instruction as the verification officers for this scheme Social Protection in Madhya Pradesh. A family whose case sits near the edge, a parent retired from a central department or from a state undertaking, should put the question to those two offices before assembling the file, and should expect the answer to be local.

The applicant should be a permanent resident of Madhya Pradesh.
The student should be studying in Class 1 to Class 12.
The student should be studying at a government school in Madhya Pradesh.
The student should be the child of a deceased, disabled, or retired government employee.
The student should not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship.
The student must have passed the previous class.

Who cannot apply

Exclusions

One condition does all the excluding, and it is the only one in the entry that looks outward at what the household already receives: a student who is a beneficiary of any other scholarship is out Social Protection in Madhya Pradesh. The same chapter lists scholarship after scholarship aimed at government school students, so for a lot of households the practical question is not whether the parent's record qualifies but which single award the child is already drawing.

The Directorate applies the same bar to the scholarship for fatherless girls immediately after this one in the compendium, so the two cannot be stacked either, even though a girl whose father was a government employee reads as eligible for both Social Protection in Madhya Pradesh. Beyond that the entry stays silent: no barred category of employee, no age limit, no rule about a second child in the same family.

Continuation

Renewal conditions

The previous class passing certificate is what makes this an annual claim rather than a running one. Because the condition has to be satisfied again each year, and because the compendium describes a single application filed at the school with no multi-year sanction behind it, the school files afresh for every academic year Social Protection in Madhya Pradesh. A student who repeats a class breaks the chain for that year, and nothing published says the claim resumes automatically once they pass; the file simply goes in again the following year with the new marksheet.

What you get

Award & benefits

ClassScholarship per yearWho it covers
Class 1 to 5Rs 50Boys and girls
Class 6 to 8Rs 120Boys and girls
Class 9 to 12Rs 250Boys and girls

One rate covers boys and girls at every slab, which is not how the Directorate usually writes these. Its neighbouring school schemes are deliberately tilted towards girls, the Sudama Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme paying Rs 300 a year for boys against Rs 400 for girls, and the Swami Vivekananda Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme Rs 500 against Rs 550 Social Protection in Madhya Pradesh. Here the class the student sits in is the only variable, and the parent's rank, department and last pay do not enter the calculation at all.

The money is credited into the student's own bank account rather than adjusted against anything the school charges myScheme record. That is why the account details and the Samagra record end up mattering as much as the certificate does.

  • Under this scheme, scholarships will be given at the following rates:-
  • Class 1 to 5: ₹50/- per year for Boys and Girls students- Class 6 to 8: ₹120/- per year for Boys and Girls students- Class 9 to 12: ₹250/- per year for Boys and Girls students
  • Note: The scholarship will be deposited directly into the student's bank account.

What to prepare

Documents required

Take the parent's death, disability or retirement certificate out of the list and what remains is the identical identity, residence, marksheet and bank set the Directorate collects for every one of its school scholarships Social Protection in Madhya Pradesh. So the certificate is the only line in the file that belongs to this claim alone, and it carries more than its one line suggests: it is the sole document anywhere in the requirement that speaks to the parent's service.

Two of the standard items still decide whether the claim moves. The Samagra ID has to be a live record with e-KYC completed, not just a number copied off an old slip; the Samagra Samajik Suraksha Mission puts e-KYC and its issue-reporting link at the top of its own home page for that reason Samagra portal. The bank passbook has to be the student's, since the credit is made to the student's account and not to the surviving parent's myScheme record.

3. Domicile certificate of Madhya Pradesh
4. Death/disabled/Retired certificate
5. Previous year passing certificate

7. Bank Passbook
8. Any other documents as required

Step by step

How to apply

The family does not file this one; the school does. The compendium describes a single application submitted at the government school where the student already studies, with the online Shiksha Portal named as the system the school works on Social Protection in Madhya Pradesh, and the public record lists the application mode as offline, with no application link of its own myScheme record. What a parent hands over is the file, to the head of the school, and what they should keep is a photocopy of the certificate and a note of the date it went in.

Tracking works differently from a portal scheme, and it is worth knowing before you go looking. No application number is issued to the family and no scheme-level status page is published, because the claim is entered, verified and forwarded inside the school, keyed to the student's Samagra number. So the school office is the status check. Where the hold-up is the Samagra record itself, an e-KYC that never completed or a name that does not match, the Samagra Samajik Suraksha Mission publishes a helpline on 0755-2700800 and a support email address for precisely that Samagra portal. Where the school confirms the claim was forwarded and the account still shows nothing, the state's grievance route is the CM Helpline on 181 CM Helpline, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

How winners are picked

Selection process

Eligibility is the whole filter, so verification is the only thing that moves a file. No merit list is drawn up, no cut-off is published, and nothing in the entry caps how many children one school may forward. What the compendium does record is who checks the claim, and it names two offices for it.

StageWhat is published about itWho
ApplicationSingle application submitted at the government schoolStudent and parent
VerificationNamed as the verification officers for the schemeSchool authorities and the district office of public instruction
PaymentCredited to the student's bank accountSchool Education Department

The compendium does not set a time limit for either check, and no sanction order is published for a family to see, which is the honest reason a claim can go quiet without anything having gone wrong.

Fine print

Terms & conditions

There is no separate terms document, no undertaking for the family to sign and no published recovery rule if a claim is later found to be wrong. Two conditions are stated and they have both already been met by the time the money moves: the student holds no other scholarship, and the amount goes directly into the student's bank account rather than against school dues Social Protection in Madhya Pradesh.

Get help

Contact

The compendium gives this scheme two contact points and no helpline of its own, naming the school authorities and the district office of public instruction as its verification officers Social Protection in Madhya Pradesh. The school is where the application, the verification and the record all physically sit, so it is the first door; the district office is the one to use when the school has done its part and the file has stopped. For a Samagra record or e-KYC problem the helpline is 0755-2700800 Samagra portal, and a complaint nobody has resolved can be lodged on the CM Helpline on 181 CM Helpline.
