Overview

About SCASC

The Scheme of Coaching & Allied for Scheduled Castes is a Jharkhand state welfare scheme run by the Department of Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Minority and Backward Class Welfare. The department's remit is the welfare of the state's most underprivileged groups, namely Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes and minorities.

Its purpose is to help Scheduled Caste candidates prepare for and appear in competitive examinations. It does this by supporting their coaching and pre-examination training at coaching institutions, and the assistance is financial.

Two kinds of beneficiary are covered: individual Scheduled Caste candidates who take the training, and the institutions that provide it. The welfare department runs its Scheduled Caste schemes through the state e-Kalyan portal, where the eligibility conditions, required documents and the application window for each cycle are set out.
