Overview

About SCAST

The Scheme of Coaching & Allied for Scheduled Tribes is a state welfare scheme in Jharkhand, run by the Department of Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Minority and Backward Class Welfare. The department is mandated to look after the welfare of the most underprivileged sections of society, and it delivers its scholarship and welfare schemes through the state's e-Kalyan portal.

The scheme is meant to help Scheduled Tribe candidates prepare for competitive examinations. It supports coaching and pre-examination training at quality coaching institutions, so that ST students can sit for these exams on a firmer footing. The benefit is financial, with cash support directed toward the coaching and related costs of that training.

Support under the scheme is aimed at Scheduled Tribe candidates in Jharkhand who are preparing for competitive examinations, and it also reaches the coaching institutions that provide the training.
