Financial Assistance for Private Self-Financed Technical Institutions(FAPSFTI)
Overview
About FAPSFTI
The Financial Assistance for Private Self-Financed Technical Institutions scheme is a Jharkhand state programme that gives grants to private engineering colleges and polytechnics, not to individual students. It runs under the Higher, Technical Education and Skill Development Department, Government of Jharkhand, and the money is meant for infrastructure development, modernisation and accreditation at the institution.
To qualify, a college must be a registered private self-financed engineering or polytechnic institute in Jharkhand, hold AICTE approval, and be affiliated to the State Board of Technical Education, Jharkhand or a recognised university. The cash grant is released in three equal instalments, with the later instalments tied to NBA-accredited courses, and at least 60 percent of seats are reserved for local Jharkhand students. For existing institutions the grant can run up to ₹6 crore for engineering and ₹3 crore for polytechnic colleges, with smaller ceilings for new ones.
Because the beneficiary is the institution and not an individual, this is not a scholarship a student can apply for. It is an infrastructure grant for private self-financed technical colleges in Jharkhand. For a student it is useful only as background on how the state supports the engineering and polytechnic colleges it does not run itself.
