About SRSPY
Sant Ravidaas Shiksha Protsaahan Yojana is an education scheme run by the Uttar Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, which sits under the state's Labour Department. It directs the board's welfare funds toward the schooling and higher studies of construction workers' children.
The benefit is a cash scholarship that scales with the level a student has reached, spanning primary classes through undergraduate, professional, postgraduate, medical and research study. Secondary-school students can also receive a bicycle subsidy to help them reach class. The board administers the scheme online through its UPBOCW portal, and offline applications are not accepted.
It is meant for children of workers registered with the Welfare Board, not for construction workers at large. The parent's registration has to be active for the scheme to apply, and the board caps the benefit at two children per registered worker. The aim is to keep these children in education and encourage them toward higher and professional courses rather than dropping out after the early grades.

Eligibility criteria
| The construction worker must be registered with the Board and be actively updated. | |
| The construction worker must have completed at least one year (365 days) of membership with the Board after registration. | |
| The age of the child should be as follows according to the class on July 1 of each year | Class 1 and 2: Maximum age 6 to 8 years |
| The age of the child should be as follows according to the class on July 1 of each year | Class 3 to 5: Maximum age 8 to 11 years |
| The age of the child should be as follows according to the class on July 1 of each year | Class 6 to 8: Maximum age 11 to 14 years |
