About SSADS-BS
The Sant Sohirobanath Ambiye Dnyanvruddhi Shishyavrutti Bursary Scheme is a Government of Goa bursary that gives cash assistance to Goan students in higher and technical education. The Goa Education Development Corporation (GEDC) has run it since 2014, and applications are handled online by the Directorate of Higher Education through its bursary portal.
The scheme's stated aim is to widen access to higher and technical education and to raise the state's Gross Enrolment Ratio. It does this by covering part of the cost of eligible course fees and textbooks for students from families that fall below the income limit fixed by the corporation, with the money paid straight into the student's bank account by Direct Benefit Transfer.
It is meant for students studying at institutions located in Goa: those in diploma courses after S.S.C., degree courses after H.S.S.C., and postgraduate courses after graduation. The institution has to be affiliated to Goa University or recognised by the Directorate of Higher Education, the Directorate of Technical Education, or another authority approved by the state or central government. You apply each academic year within the window the corporation announces, and eligibility and the exact benefit are decided against the criteria published by GEDC.

| The applicant should be pursuing a diploma, graduation, or post-graduation in a recognized institution located in Goa. | |

| The applicant pursuing a diploma course should have completed standard 10th in Goa.1. - Fee Reimbursement Assistance
- The scheme provides reimbursement of eligible fees up to: ₹40,000 per annum towards course fees
- Additional ₹5,000 per annum for textbooks/reference books
- Eligible fee components include: Tuition Fees, Registration Fees, Library Fees, Laboratory Fees, Gymkhana Fees, IT Charges, Practical Fees, and other approved charges.
- Mode of Disbursement
- Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the student's bank account.
- NOTE: The student must first pay the prescribed fees to the educational institution.
- Reimbursement is based on the actual fees paid and eligibility under the scheme.
