Sanskrit Shodh Chhaatravrtti Yojana(SSCY)
Overview
About SSCY
Sanskrit Shodh Chhaatravrtti Yojana is a state scholarship run by the Department of Sanskrit Education, Government of Uttarakhand, and listed on the national myScheme portal. A dedicated Directorate of Sanskrit Education plans, supervises and monitors Sanskrit teaching across the state, from the Prathama (primary) level up to Acharya (postgraduate).
The scheme pays cash assistance to support doctoral research in Sanskrit. Its aim is to encourage meritorious Ph.D. students at the state's universities to take up high-quality research, and to ease the cost of the years of study a Ph.D. requires.
It is meant for individual research scholars pursuing a Ph.D. in Sanskrit at state universities in Uttarakhand. One of these is Uttarakhand Sanskrit University in Haridwar, established in 2005, which runs doctoral programmes and has 44 affiliated colleges.
