About STPSS
The Scheduled Tribe Purvadasham Scholarship Scheme is a pre-matric scholarship run by the Department of Social Welfare, Government of Uttarakhand. It is aimed at Scheduled Tribe children studying in Classes 1 to 8 at recognised schools within the state.
The scheme provides financial assistance to help meet the cost of schooling for families from Scheduled Tribe communities. The aim is to help these students continue through the primary and upper-primary years without dropping out for financial reasons.
Support goes to Scheduled Tribe students enrolled as regular students in a recognised Uttarakhand school. Students apply through their own school.

Eligibility criteria
| The applicant must be a resident of Uttarakhand. | |
| The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category. | |
| The applicant must possess a valid caste certificate. | |
| The applicant must be enrolled in a recognized school in Uttarakhand. | |
| The applicant must be studying in a Class 1 to 8. | |
| The scholarship will be available for one year only for studying in any class. | |
| The applicant should not be receiving benefits under any other government scholarship scheme. | |
| There is no income limit for this scholarship. |
