Overview

About PFJKBOCWWB

Professional Education is a financial assistance scheme run by the Jammu & Kashmir Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB), the statutory board within the union territory's labour and employment administration. The Board registers construction workers, collects a cess on construction activity, and uses that fund to run welfare schemes for registered workers and their families.

The scheme gives cash support towards professional and technical study for regular students. It covers Para Medical and ITI diploma courses, three-year engineering and other recognised diploma programmes, and professional or technical degree courses. The amount depends on the course: ₹10,000 for Para Medical or ITI diplomas, ₹30,000 for three-year engineering or other recognised diploma courses, and ₹50,000 for a professional or technical degree.

It is meant for the children of workers registered with the Board, so eligibility is tied to the parent's active membership rather than to the student alone. The applicant must be a regular student on a recognised course, and applications are handled through the Board's own portal. The scheme is limited to Jammu and Kashmir.
