Overview

About SEJKBOCWWB

Schooling Education is a welfare scheme run by the Jammu and Kashmir Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB). The board sits under the Union Territory's Labour and Employment Department and administers welfare measures for construction workers registered with it and their dependents.

The scheme offers cash assistance towards the schooling of the children of registered construction workers, from the nursery and early primary classes up to the upper-primary stage. Its purpose is to ease the cost of keeping those children in school, with the amount paid each year and set by the class band the child is in.

To draw on it, the parent has to be a construction worker who holds an active, valid registration with the board, and the child has to be a regular student in a recognised school. Applications are made through the board's own portal using the worker's registered credentials.
