Overview

About PMSSMC

The Pre-Matric Scholarship for the Students of Minority Castes helps students from minority communities in Gujarat meet the cost of schooling before matriculation. It supports children in class 1 to class 10 who study in government and aided schools, and is administered by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department, Government of Gujarat.

The support is given as an annual scholarship. There is no income limit for classes 1 to 8; for classes 9 and 10, the applicant's annual family income must not exceed ₹6,00,000. The scheme's stated aim is to promote inclusive education and reduce dropout among minority students through the pre-matric years, easing part of the financial burden of keeping a child in school.
