Overview

About PSSCSSCS(PMS)

The Pre-SSC Scholarship for Scheduled Caste Students, also called the Parixitlal Majmudar Scholarship, is a Gujarat state scheme for Scheduled Caste children in school. It runs under the scheme code BCK-2/71 and supports students in Class 1 to 10 at Government, Grant-in-Aid or recognised private schools in the state.

The scheme is administered by the Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare, within Gujarat's Social Justice and Empowerment Department, with the District Deputy Director (SCW) offices handling it at the district level. Its aim is to keep SC students in school by easing the everyday cost of schooling across the primary and secondary years, from Class 1 through Class 10.

The benefit is a cash scholarship paid once a year, with the amount fixed by the student's standard. Students in Classes 1 to 5 receive ₹750 a year and those in Classes 9 and 10 receive ₹1,000; in Classes 6 to 8 the amount is ₹750 for boys and ₹1,000 for girls. Eligibility is open to Scheduled Caste students of Gujarat enrolled in Class 1 to 10, and the department records no income limit for this scholarship.

Applications are made online through the Digital Gujarat portal, with the school principal completing the process for enrolled students.
