Private Tuition Assistance to Scheduled Caste Students Studying in Standard 11th and 12th (Science Stream) is a Gujarat state scheme. It is run by the Director, Scheduled Caste Welfare, under the state's Social Justice and Empowerment Department, and is listed in the directorate's records under the code BCK-7.
The scheme puts money towards the cost of private coaching for Scheduled Caste students in the science stream during Classes 11 and 12. The benefit is paid once for each of the two years, so that the tuition fees a science student runs up outside school do not become a reason to drop the stream.
It is aimed at Scheduled Caste students in Gujarat who move into the science stream after a strong Class 10 result and whose family income stays within the limit the department sets. Applications are made online through the Digital Gujarat portal, and are processed at the District Deputy Director (Scheduled Caste Welfare) office.
