Overview

About PTASCSSS1112(GS)

Private Tuition Assistance to Scheduled Caste Students Studying in Standard 11th & 12th (General Stream) is a Gujarat state scholarship run by the Director of Scheduled Caste Welfare in Gandhinagar, a directorate of the state's Social Justice and Empowerment Department. It gives Scheduled Caste students in the higher-secondary general stream a cash grant toward private coaching fees: Rs 8,000 for the year in Standard 11 and Rs 4,000 in Standard 12.

The aim is narrow and practical: to help SC families meet private tuition costs so that the price of coaching does not hold back a capable student's board-year preparation. Awards do not go to every applicant who clears the mark. A merit list is drawn up at state level each cycle, and assistance is given to the first 100 eligible students on it.

It is meant for Scheduled Caste students of Gujarat in the general stream of Standard 11 or 12 who scored 75% or more in Standard 10 and whose annual family income is up to Rs 4.50 lakh. Selection is merit-driven, so meeting the conditions makes a student eligible to be considered rather than assured of an award. Applications are made offline at the nearest office of the District Deputy Director (Scheduled Caste Welfare) or the Director's office in Gandhinagar.
