Pratibha Yojana(PY)

No last date is published for this scheme. The public record carries an opening date and leaves the closing date empty, and Khargone district publishes the plan with a commencement date and the note that it is revised from time to time, not reopened on a calendar (District Khargone, Talent plan).

The date that fixes a claim is the admission behind it. The form asks for the counselling year and for the date of admission copied off the receipt, which ties the application to the session in which the seat was accepted (user manual).

Scheduled Tribe status and Madhya Pradesh domicile are where the test starts, but the two conditions students actually fail on are the income line and the institution list.

The department words the ceiling as the annual income of the parents, guardians or the student from all sources, not exceeding Rs 6 lakh (administrative report 2025-26). It is a household test, not a per-parent one, and it is read from the income certificate rather than from anything the institution says.

The covered list runs wider than the JEE, NEET, CLAT, AIIMS and NDA routes the public scheme record describes. The same report prices nine courses, three of them outside that older set: NIFT, the Footwear Design and Development Institute and the Indian Institute of Forest Management (administrative report 2025-26). Medicine is the narrow route. A NEET qualification counts only where it produced an MBBS seat at a government college located in Madhya Pradesh, and law is priced as the integrated LL.B. read at NLIU.

One check runs before any officer sees the file. The application form asks for the roll number of the exam behind your seat and validates it against the institution you name; where the two do not agree, the portal replies in Hindi that the roll number is not valid for the institution in which admission was taken (Pratibha Yojana user manual).

Nothing is barred by name. What rules a student out is how narrow the covered ground is, beginning with category: the user manual states that Pratibha Yojana is for Scheduled Tribe students only (user manual), which leaves a Scheduled Caste or OBC student holding the same rank outside it, even though the department's own remit covers Scheduled Caste welfare.

Institution, not degree, is the unit of the scheme. A tribal student from Madhya Pradesh who takes MBBS at a private college, or a seat at a national institute the report does not price, has nothing to apply against, however good the rank was.

There is no renewal step. The user manual sets out one application, filed once after admission, and neither it nor the department's report describes a repeat claim in later years of the same course (user manual).

Two official statements of the amount sit side by side, and they are not worded the same way. The department's 2025-26 report prices the incentive by course:

The district administration of Khargone publishes the older income-slab version of the same two figures: Rs 50,000 where family income is up to Rs 3,00,000 and Rs 25,000 where it is more than that (District Khargone, Talent plan). Whichever wording an office is working from, the payment a student sees is one of those two amounts.

The money is paid into the applicant's Aadhaar-linked bank account (user manual). Neither statement of the benefit mentions tuition, hostel charges or a monthly allowance, so the recurring cost of a five-year MBBS or a four-year B.Tech sits with whatever other scheme the student qualifies for.

The caste, domicile, income and Samagra papers behave the way they do across the department's other schemes. Two items are specific to this claim and decide whether it moves.

The first is the admission receipt. Its number and the date of admission are typed into the form exactly as the institution issued them, and the admitting institution then confirms that admission before any officer examines the file (user manual). A receipt that has been misplaced is a harder problem here than a missing photocopy of anything else.

The second is the bank account. It has to be linked to Aadhaar and active, because the incentive is credited directly and the department tells beneficiaries plainly that an account without that link cannot receive scheme money (Tribal Affairs Department).

The whole application runs on MPTAAS, and the Pratibha Yojana menu only appears after you are logged in (user manual):

1. Register a beneficiary profile on MPTAAS if you do not already have one. The user ID and password are sent to the email address and mobile number entered in that profile.
2. Open the Tribal Affairs Department website, click Online Services, and log in with those credentials.
3. Pick the Pratibha Yojana menu on the user dashboard.
4. Choose Apply, read the instructions screen, and continue.
5. Enter the exam or institution name, the counselling year and the roll number, then click the eligibility check.
6. When the portal answers that the roll number is correct, enter the admitted institution, the admission receipt number and the date of admission from that receipt, and submit.
7. Print the application detail the portal returns, or save it as a PDF.

Which roll number belongs in step 5 depends on the route to your seat. IIT and NIT students enter the JEE Main roll number, students at a Madhya Pradesh medical institute the NEET roll number, AIIMS students the AIIMS examination roll number, NLU students the CLAT roll number, and NDA students the UPSC roll number (user manual).

Tracking a submitted claim uses the same menu. Choose Application Status instead of Apply and the portal lists what you have filed; clicking the application number opens the full record, which can again be printed or saved. Current status is also pushed to the registered email address and by SMS to the registered mobile number, so a silent inbox usually means the profile carries an address the student no longer reads (user manual).

Nobody is ranked against anybody. The manual sets out a verification chain: the student applies after admission, the admitting institution confirms that the admission is real, departmental officers examine the application and the admission, the incentive is paid into the Aadhaar-linked account, and the status of each step goes out by email and SMS (user manual). The competitive step already happened, in the entrance exam.

That matters for how a student reads a delay. Neither completed year in the department's table spent what was provided for it, Rs 20.40 lakh released against Rs 30.00 lakh in 2023-24 and Rs 50.65 lakh against Rs 80.00 lakh in 2024-25 (administrative report 2025-26), so a claim that has stopped moving is likelier to be sitting at a verification step than waiting on money.

Three conditions have to be true before an application is even possible: a registered beneficiary profile, a bank account linked to Aadhaar, and the institute admission receipt in hand (user manual). The profile registration is a separate exercise with its own manual and video on the portal, and until it exists there are no credentials to log in with, so the scheme menu cannot be reached at all.

The department also treats the Aadhaar and bank linkage as a live condition rather than a one-off form entry, asking beneficiaries to have the branch link and activate the account before benefits are due (Tribal Affairs Department).

Questions about a Pratibha Yojana application go to the tribal department helpdesk on 1800-2333-951 or helpdesk.tribal@mp.gov.in, a number the scheme's own manual prints at the end of its instructions (user manual), and the department states that the desk runs on working days from 10 am to 6 pm (Tribal Affairs Department).

The Scheduled Caste welfare wing keeps a separate helpline on the same login page, and it is not the desk for this scheme (MPTAAS). Applications themselves are filed to the departmental district officer through MPTAAS, so a claim that has passed submission but stopped moving is a district office matter rather than a helpdesk one (District Khargone, Talent plan).
